@@alexanderdhaene1887 that's so much better than most people expected though. Like honestly most people thought they wouldn't make the playoffs for at least a couple of years, and for them to be a single game behind the Jazz and potentially 2 games behind the 3 seed Nuggets? I think it's incredible that they pulled this out of a previously considered doomed season for OKC.

It would be kind of cool to see OKC double down on this roster and try for a playoff birth. A couple of capable bench scorers could be all they need. The offensive and defensive efficiency should skyrocket. If the Clippers and Raptors have shown the NBA anything it’s that it is better to have a competitive team that is a piece away than a rebuilding team with high hopes.

I’m a Cavs fan, and even I don’t understand why Portland would ever bother with an old hobbled Love when there’s a perfectly good (and maybe better) pf that may even come cheaper out there in Danilo. I would love to see that trade.
@assibeysteven40335 жыл бұрын
Here’s the thing. Gallo is just as injury prone. Check his minutes and offensive production b4 last season you’ll know what I’m talking about. They (Portland) could use Love, he’s still one of the best pick and poppers in the NBA and even with his lighter, Lither frame, he’s still a great rebounder

I said it before the draft, I said it his rookie season, and I said it all of this season. SGA is a future high value all-star. His two-way ceiling is so exciting and his physical tools let him play 1-3 which is something we don't see often. We see guys who can go 2-4 but the ability to guard people like Steph AND Klay. or being able to spend time guarding Kyrie AND KD. He's in a rare place as a player

@c.jarmstrong31115 жыл бұрын
@@ItMeRishi I guess he proved he could develop young guys, before they all left. I just don't think Donovan knows how to coach talent effectively, though. The Thunder really should have won at least one championship when they had that prime core
@brads42315 жыл бұрын
I still think they can make the playoffs. They still have talent on their team and while it could help to miss the playoffs (with their draft pick situation). I think they use CP3, Steven Adams, and Gallo more to maybe try and improve their trade value. Then they maybe could find a trade partner at the trade deadline or next offseason to speed up the rebuild. Since there is no high expectations this year and this is his first year without a top nba player to fall back on (KD, Russ, PG) I believe this can be Billy Donovan's chance to show the type of coach he really is. He can start with (sort of) a clean slate. Either way it goes I'm excited to see what happens with this team.

Gallanari is underrated af. This team may not be good but we will see this players show that they can work with what they have.
@ryanb71865 жыл бұрын
Getting 41 wins would be awful. They need to trade Gallinari and CP3 this season (the sooner the better), and then tank for early-mid lottery picks over the next 3 years. They get their own 1st pick back this year if it falls within 1-20 and get their 2022 1st pick back if it falls in the 1-14 range. 2022 is also the "double draft" year, so they definitely want that pick back. If needed, Presti also has tons of draft picks to trade up in drafts to try and get who he thinks will be a star. I do think the team will be fun and refreshing to watch, even when they're losing more than they're winning. I've had my fill of Thunder hero ball over the last decade, and SGA plays the right way. Let's get some system basketball going.

If the Thunder keep the players on the roster for the entire season while staying relatively healthy, ( no one expects this but it is a good option if they want to compete now while acquiring the assets to make a trade for a budding superstar; Devin Booker with Alexander anyone?) they have a legitimate chance of being a 7th or 8th seed. They have the spacing Paul has only had once in his career ( Houston) with 3 good defenders ( Adams, Ferguson, and Alexander), the positional versatility to play Gallinari at the 4 next to Adams, 2 ball handlers to create for themselves or others and 4 shooters in their starting 5. With a competent bench lead by Schroder, Bazley, and Noel they can make a good team.

Give Sam Presti a budding star and enough picks to make the 76ers cry and you have a dynastic situation on your hands If you can snag 3 or 4 more 1st round picks for Paul, Adams, and Gallinari you can give a top tier drafting exec plenty of paint for his canvas

daily reminder: the seattle supersonics were not a good organization their last couple of years and in OK they became a greatly successful team with outstanding support from an appreciative community that hadn't *officially* had an NBA team before, or any other big pro franchises. The saft that Seattle wasn't going for their team enough for it to be a viable business decision to stay is 100% not OKCs fault, and a prime example of "you only want it when its gone" mentality. If I was the owner of the suns or the kings, I'm highly considering moving my franchise, but not to Seattle. I might move mine to Vegas, Kansas City MO, or best idea of all: Ontario, BC, etc.
