This is VERY accurate stuff here. I experienced the same thing my first year as a full time roofing contractor. I now own my own company and LOVE what I do. I can’t wait to find a solid team leader to train. We’re definitely a rare breed of people and it’s hard to find others that fit the mold. Anyone who’s new and struggling to get contracts signed. Please keep going, don’t quit before the miracle happens!!! It’s really hard, I’m not going to lie. I had 14 leads either go with a cheaper guy that was clearly committing fraud or a million other reasons. I ALMOST quit and that would have been the worst decision of my life!! I went out the following Monday afternoon with a friend and I signed 5 contracts that afternoon with claims filed. Then I went to doing 1m+ in sales my first year. Just keep going, set small goals every day and achieve them to the best of your ability and that will compound on itself. Good luck my friend!

Dude. Thanks for taking the time to share your story and experience. The key lesson - most people quit too soon. Success out of the gate is super rare. You gotta embrace the journey! It's simple. Just not easy. If it was - everyone would be rich.

What are your thoughts on work full time from 9-5 and doing roofing sales part time? I was told best selling time is after anyways and could make my own schedule.

I just wanted to give you some praise man, last week I was literally in the same position you were, full time job, thinking of doing this on a side...I know nothing about roofing, but I quit my job yesterday and I’m going all in. DUDE! Congrats on making the leap and going all in. Embrace the pressure and the challenge and let it fuel your success. I wrote my goals down on a piece of paper and looked at them EVERY SINGLE DAY (I even taped them to my wall of my bedroom). I also printed out a blank sheet of paper with 1 - 100 written down - each # representing a sale. I would scratch 'em off as I went to keep the fire going. You got this dude!!

@@TheRoofStrategist Sounds good brother, I do have one question if you don't mind me asking, the job I left was Angie's List so im sure you've heard of it being in this field. Coming from digital mkt/ad I was curious to know if you feel like door to door produces a higher return than digital ads? The plan is to do both but wanted to make sure I balanced it properly. I apologize if you have a vid already explaining this, I'm new to your channel, if its easier for you to drop the link thats perfectly fine with me! if you don't though, would love some feedback!
@TheRoofStrategist4 жыл бұрын
@@GetCASHGetPaid GREAT question. There is no greater return than door knocking. Period. Can digital be powerful? YES. 100%. Is it more scalable? As a company owner, it can be - but only when done properly. It is also higher risk without a proven model. Lots of money can be wasted quickly. As an individual rep, I would 100% focus on D2D first. That way you can learn what you need to about the process, note any objections, and learn how to put together some killer ad copy before trying anything on the digital side. As a company owner, I would find a business who knows what they are doing to run exclusive leads for you. Just my .2c and hope it helps!

@TheRoofStrategist2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Happy to answer that. I was earning $19,000 (ish) per year as a massage therapist. I left that business and went "all in" in roofing sales. In my first 8 months I had generated a $140,000 of income for myself.

Are all company’s 100% commission
@TheRoofStrategist3 жыл бұрын
No sir. Nearly all are performance based - the more you sell the more you earn. Some provide a base pay, hiring bonuses, or other incentives to provide cash flow as you get started. Each company handles it differently. Best to interview with a few and ask :)
