That man who called in is hardly reformed or taken any responsibility for his actions. He has had many victims over the years and has only ever "taken responsibility" when court was involved. He does not give a shit about anyone besides himself. He portrays himself as a victim since he knows how to charm people like a true manipulator. The fact that Sarah Silverman is on here saying how special that was is horrific to those who are still experiencing the trauma he caused.
@alexandrapanovich23773 жыл бұрын
As a former student of the man Chris that called in and talked about cancel culture and abusers being reformed and accepted back into society, know that he is a dirtbag liar, who hasn't taken responsibility for anything outside of the courts being involved. As a person who doesn't have background and context of a person prior to giving them airtime, you couldn't possibly know the harm this does to the women he has hurt and abused. But now you've had several of us that know him, that had him as a teacher for 4 years, that have become adults and lived in the same town for years, now you know and this should be taken down and edit him out. Do not give this man a public platform to try and make himself look like the good guy. Beautiful and inspiring? He is anything but. Don't make a person that lies and sexually abuses children, look beautiful because he can call into your show and lie. Something needs to be done and this needs to be addressed.
@soupyverne3 жыл бұрын
My kid's had Chris as a teacher for four years. I know some of his victims personally. I believe in restorative justice but, I do not see justice for his victims in this case. I understand that his wife and daughter love him. That's great for them. Being court ordered to apologize to one victim and doing time does not equal justice in my book, I'm appreciative of the work he is doing and it's still not enough. The effects of his abuse of his authority over young women and their bodies will not end for them. I should not end for him either. Maybe you should talk about the "canceling" of those young women's innocence.
@marcellejordan90243 жыл бұрын
Chris Bacigalupo was a teacher at my high-school. You question why he called in... the answer is to appear like some reformed good guy persuasively on a national platform so he could be seen as inspiring by you and your audience. Turns out you were dead on when you guessed that it behooved him to plead guilty after being forced. He says he's upset at people who malign their victims while he uses a national platform to refuse to acknowledge his multiple victims. This is a charming liar and sorry but you've been had. Don't believe abusive men. All he cares about is his reputation.
@mariahmacham19093 жыл бұрын
Also just now coming to this episode. Extremely disappointed that Chris was able to secure a platform for however short a time to make himself look good with no opportunity for his *multiple* victims to be heard by this audience in counterpoint. I will join the chorus in saying that this man has in no way taken responsibility for his actions aside of court-mandated responsibility, and for him to even breathe the words “cancel culture” is just laughable. Again, very unfortunate that he was given any sort of platform.
@shannonc6392 жыл бұрын
Chris was my high school advisor when this was going on. I wasn’t one of his victims but I know his victims and I believe every word they say. He is a manipulator and he basically got off scotch free. I hope you take the time to read Allison Morse’s voicemail and share it as a response.

It was really sad to see Sarah wince and hold her face in that "way" as he was explaining that he was a convicted sex offender; that way that so many of us recognize as a sign that she was feeling activated about her own experiences of assault, or boundary crossing, or victimizations by men; that way we all hold our space a little closer to ourselves, to make it easier to leave your body while you slowly process the flood of feeling that comes as you're forced to remember. Think of how much worse that was for his multiple victims that saw this. My heart breaks.
@hannahzuercher32133 жыл бұрын
area students all know who Chris is and what he did on your show Sarah was NOT GOOD. He is not reformed, he is not a good man. Him pleading guilty in know way is a reflection of his character- it’s a reflection of the INCREDIBLE AMOUND OF PEOPLE AND EVIDENCE AGAINST THIS HORRIBLE MAN. His wife abuse victims families while he was in jail. She continues to harass and blame victims. The family is toxic and he has NEVER apologized or taken accountability outside his charade on your show. DISGUSTING.
@sarcasticgeek3 жыл бұрын
98% sure I know Chris. I don't think its appropriate to give someone like him a platform. Out of respect for his victims I think its worth deleting that segment from the recording. I don't think hearing this will help their healing.

Hey, don't stress yourself out too much with so little time to go. Also remember, you can't outrun your diet. Gym is good for fitness but does very little in losing weight. Diet isn't just about weight, you'll also fix any foggy head or energy crashes during the day. Make diet and food health a hobby to feel good not just lose weight quickly! Good luck dear and focus on having fun not your weight. Literally no one cares about your weight and are just excited about you getting married.

I live in Bentonville, AR and deeply understand this woman’s disdain for the Walton’s. The way they conduct themselves around town and with people is despicable. I have worked directly with them, they are atrocious. I will also shout out Markham & Fitch, owned by wonderful people who work their butts off and make delicious chocolate.

Sarah - I called in and left a message a couple of months ago about how horrible it was to hear Chris's lies read on air. I was really hoping that you would play my response to hear the other side, and I'm disappointed and sad. There are many victims who have had to deal with his continued manipulation and abuse. It's really great to see how much support there is in these comments.

I live for the power walk. I'm engaged too and gained 40 pounds this year- yikes! Thanks to my own practice of what Sarah outlined, working out for endorphins and self-love and working on self acceptance, I've lost 20 pounds and feel the best I've ever felt about my body - I've been anorexic and binge-purged since 12. Media ****s with our brains and causes so much pain. I hope the caller and anyone reading this is able to discover a more healthy mind-body connection. It's difficult and possible.

Make new shit!! It's corporations trying to guarantee returns on their investments by either cutting corners in costs with their pre-owned story properties, or by buying/bartering for rights to a story they know has a built-in constituency. A female Glengarry Glen Ross will morph from getting good meaty rolls for talented actresses, into 'let's get real, Glengarry is "guy's play," so we should only cast very sexy actresses in every roll to really make sure the guys show up'. The money people don't want to chance an original story, so soon we are guaranteed to have a Baby Einsteins tell the Oldest Story any day now on AMC.

citizens united is nuts. and i don't feel like it's ever going to go away because too many politicians line their pockets with it and are happy to lie on tv about how they're going to tax the rich but no one ever does it. like, when people say 'we need to cut spending' its never their own wages, or personal perks like paid lunches or office furniture which alone could fund an entire program; its stuff like help for the homeless, infrastructure, debt relief, etc. the one person in recent politics running for president who people really believed would actually do it is Bernie and the entire left came together to push him out of the game and discredit him in the presidential bid as much as possible and make him seem like some crazed radical or idealist whose ideas could never work in the real world. when it comes to money and corruption in politics both right and left are on the same side. its a beautiful thing to see them come together... as a side note! i just recently got into your podcast after the conan interview and im so happy I did! always makes me smile ^_^ i know you've done a lot since then but I just love you in those 2 voyager episodes!

Hey Sarah I just wanted to say I'm excited to see you host and also watch those skits that you'll filmed. I also have to comment on the Walton lady not tipping in the Chocolate Boutique I feel like that wasn't rude because those stores are already overpriced and who the hell knew you're supposed to tip when you buy chocolate?! Like I don't know the total politics over Walmart but I will say this Walmart provides many services for people in rural areas and they do it cheaper than everyone else and when you don't have a lot, that matters. It sounded like the lady that called in and left a voicemail into your show was a hater. Thank you
