The US localization team named the Koopa Kids after musicians and pop culture personalities. Wendy O Williams of the Plasmatics, Iggy Pop of Iggy and the Stooges, Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead, Roy Orbison, Ludwig Von Beethoven, and Morton Koopa Jr was named after Morton Downey, Jr who was a talk show host... he was kind of the precursor to Jerry Springer and the like. Larry was named because he "Just looked like a Larry" though some have said he's named after U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr.

Sorry to be the one, but that was technically not the Ode of Joy. It was Beethoven's 9th Symphony. The Ode of Joy is a poem created by Friedrich Schiller roughly 40 years, before Beethoven created the 9th Symphony. To put it simply, Beethoven liked Ode of Joy so much, he wanted to create music for it. However, the instrumentals are the 9th Symphony, the text is the poem by Schiller. And to completely blow everyone's mind, at least for those who didn't know already: Beethoven suffered from hear loss throughout his life. By the time he created the 9th Symphony he was pretty much deaf. It also serves as the European hymn, btw.

Alex, you know you don’t have to like the level just because it’s a special event or reason right? Because I’ve seen you like levels that were really not good at all and you only did because it was like the anniversary or birthday of MM. idk why you feel like you have to like them! When I used to play this game with my nephew I didn’t care who made the level, where they were from, or what specific reason they made the level for! If the level was trash or bad I hit boo. They need to know these types of things.

I wouldn’t want him to like all the levels I like and dislike every level that I don’t. I’m just saying just because it’s supposed to be a special event or something like that doesn’t mean that he has to automatically like a level. I’ve literally seen him like levels that he’s obviously not enjoying at all! Or he will play like the first 10 seconds of a level, then die, and then likes the level before he even finishes the level just because it’s a special event or something like that. We have all seen him do it before. But if this was just a normal beating however many such and such levels he’d have no problem booing those levels.

Even the most meticulously crafted levels will not please every player. However, since the "like" and "boo" system doubles as an algorithm for the game to recommend levels to other players, it is worthwhile to like levels and reward creators who actually put in the effort, even if they aren't in your own personal wheelhouse.
