I have a 2019 Rubicon that I purchased in December 2018. I had the off road pages for a few days, then they disappeared. I was unable to get them back. I spoke to FCA, they suggested that take my Jeep in for service. I went to my local Jeep dealer and their tech guy spoke to FCA technical support and they were unable to figure it out. I was without the off-road pages for a few months. Then, I contacted FCA technical support in Canada and asked them to upload the software to my Jeep. Before I could finish our conversation, we were cut off and my off-road pages reappeared just like magic. That was a week ago. I still have them. Go figure! All in all, I adore my Rubicon JL (Ocean Blue). Keep up the good work guys! Love all your videos!

Tommy is right. It takes the off-road pages app a long time to initialize. Once it does and you've opened it once, it opens quickly on subsequent tries. That's been my experience in the JL.

Time to discuss what it is feels like, sounds like, rides like, how long does it take before your butt gets tired of sitting in it? Do the seats cut the circulation off to your legs? Does the steering wheel vibrations numb your hands? What does it look like to change a tire? Do the windshield wipers squeak? How long does it take before the windshield gets cracked from a bug hitting it? How often do you have to clean the fender cracks that fill up with dirt and dust before it starts to scratch the hood? When you park in lots, how much room between you and the vehicles next to you? When you back out of a spot does it take a long of room? Does it have brake hold? How tired does your foot get from waiting at long lights if there is no brake hold? Are there rattles, shakes, shimmering noises from anything in the vehicle? Where does your cell phone go when you drive? Is the suspension so stiff that when you hit a bump it knocks your drinks out of cup holders?

My 2018 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk has a few apps that are not available for the first 1-2 minutes after start-up (Offroad pages is one of them). It started with the sept '18 software update, they also added the jeep accept screen which was not there previously. I figure they slowed down the booting of certain apps that are not needed immediately, most computers don't boot everything at once. If you move the icon to the favorites row it will be labeled but greyed out, until ready, my other apps a just a generic icons until ready, where yours seem to be completely gone.)

The smart way to buy IMO is to get the Sport model with the max tow package. That clocks in at around $36,000. You give away some of the cool high tech gizmos but your getting basically the same axles and gearing as a Rubicon minus the transfer case. With the money you save, if your that worried about crawl ratios, you could either get a junkyard JK/JL 4:1 transfer case(if you can find one) and driveshafts or go with a full blown Atlas transfer case and get insane levels of low gearing. I'd go for the latter as it would still cost way less overall than that fancy new Rubicon and perform equally as well off road if not more so.

Dang it ! I was looking to YOU guys to expose this one !!!! And I may still be wrong. BUT......on a recent trip with a buddy who just got a Gladiator ( hidden camp near the San Miguel River, CO) Anyway, two rigs had new winches installed prior to the trip. A Disco and the Gladiator ( with 8 speed auto).We wanted to tension the winch lines and check ops. No problem with the disco. But with the Gladiator in neutral, every time "Joe" got out of the seat to bring his control to the front for line spooling, the rear wheels would lock up and drag. When he got back in he confirmed he was in "N". Gave the winch a tap and it free wheeled. Got out again for dressing the drum and "lock up". So..... he stayed in the rig and us outside guys dressed it for him. Not a good thing if he had a need to be out while winching or some other urgent need to free wheel in neutral like a dead battery...... We figured there was some safety switch that was electronically putting the JT in park when he got out and knew it needed researching. Now,,,,,,,I DO NOT KNOW if this is fact on the JT, BUT......the JL with 8 speed has a little door/panel on the front of the shifter console you pry open with the key or small flathead screwdriver. Under that is an orange loop you pull up and engage in a catch. That PHYSICALLY puts the trans in neutral for any winch or free wheel needs with no one in the driver seat ( like winching.....or a tow driver pulling up onto a flatbed). Just before I went to you guys seeking an answer I found the JL solve and texted it to him......he's out deep in the Escalante area. Probably a need to know since he didn't as of yet. ) Im hoping it's the same in case I come across a need to help a Gladiator out not in the know. Long winded........but what say you Jeep Dudes ?! (just got back from Black Bear for the 8-9th time..... FUN!)

Really cool track lines on the forward camera display, but can you trust it? Think you could use paint or even a couple of rags to test how accurate the lines are? In my experience these lines are more of a general guide that I’d only use to judge the position of my steering rack. It’d be really awesome if the display actually could help you decide where to put your tires!

The hood switches are for the Remote Start. Hood/Door Ajar, as well as other factors will disable Remote Start. My JK alarm won't sound with hood open either.

I would love a two door. As far as axles and lockers go, I'm not to worried about those. Ive had 3 different jeeps. Cj5, yj, and currently a 97 tj as my daily. 230,000 miles and I off road. maybe a dozen times a year. My yj was moded like crazy though. Ford 8.8 rear dana 44 front Rubicon transfer case locker blah blah blah. But damn it was fun.

Because it doesn’t have the mopar Jeep windshield in it. It was probably cracked and then replaced with an aftermarket windshield which is cheaper. If it gets a crack and you need to replace it you can ask for the OEM windshield. But it costs about $150-$200 more for it.

The backup camera shuts off quickly when driving because its a driver distraction and you are supposed to keep your eyes on the road. The forward camera has a longer time out because at least you are looking in the direction you are traveling but you still need to be looking out the windshield while driving. The forward camera is a "trail cam" and will stay on at low speeds, like rock crawling. The "backup" camera is just that and will stay on when using as intended. But it can still be used for a quick glance at your hitch or trailer while driving and then get your eyes back on road where they are supposed to be looking when driving. Its not Lawyers, its Jeep trying to keep you and other motorists safe. As for the Offroad Pages not working while driving at highway speeds, its a driver distraction to be messing with those menus while driving on the street/highway so they aren't available when doing so. You aren't supposed to be texting on your phone while driving either and my iPhone wont let me if i'm driving. Go crawling and they will be there. If you need to have those info screens on all the time, you can cycle through them on the instrument cluster with your steering wheel menu buttons so its less distracting but you can glance down for the info. As for the hood sensors, one of their functions is to not allow the engine to be started while the hood is up to avoid possible injury while working in the engine bay. There is a second circuit loop that could be utilized for an alarm but it was not implemented despite being presented at the JT reveal. The JK had it also but was never implemented. If someone is going to steal your engine, they are going to steal the whole jeep as the process takes time and an engine hoist. Please don't call things "issues" when its just you not being experienced with the systems. You didn't show one thing that wasn't working as intended.

Yea the 8.4 Uconnect in my 18 JL has had its share of glitches...usually the reverse camera lines disappear for a while. While I have had a couple little quirks to deal with they haven't been enough to bring me into the dealership yet, and I enjoy and feel blessed every minute I spend in it!

I think you guys missed one of the most overlooked details of the bed...obviously it’s only 5ft, which is kinda short for say, plywood and sheetrock. But Jeep put those 2 vertical slots on the bed sides for a reason...they fit a 2x6 cut to length, with that 2x6 and the tailgate locked at half down, you have a 4x6.5’ platform on top of the wheel wells, which only leaves you 18” short of a full-size 8ft box.
