I'd refuse to be lectured about wasting resources by the kind of person who cuts about a golf course (one of the most ridiculous uses of land and water possible) in a buggy (because walking a couple of km in an afternoon is just too much apparently), while they upload nonsense to a social media site that uses huge resources to show videos of her just scowling at other people.
3 ай бұрын
Whether a golf course is a waste of land and water depends on where your golf course is. For example, a golf course in Scotland might be a waste of land, but it ain't a waste of water. A golf course in the middle of the Sahara is probably not a waste of land, but it would be a waste of water. A golf course in the middle of Las Vegas would probably be waste of both land and water.

But also, about the media influence, there's the fact that whatever are the problems of your country a citizen will blame whatever they feel is the system at play, here in Brazil the left wing says the country is ruled by the agro business and the problems are due their influence in politics, while the right wing says there are too many lefty communists in the congress for too long and it's their fault. You made an excellent point about that first girl. If you were just some random person with no particular need with 10 Stanley cups, yeah, you’re being dumb and wasteful. But is collecting them your hobby? A specific hobby which likely prevents you from doing other, likely more economically and environmentally irresponsible hobbies? Then you do you. The average Joe shouldn’t buy 10 Stanley cups, but if buying those 10 cups brings you long term joy, it’s a collection, and the money you spend on them would have been spent on something else equally trivial anyway? Then there’s no loss. -- Ironically, swapping to painting and collecting Warhammer minis was _cheaper_ than my old hobby of collecting Black Series Star Wars figures and Lego. Black series uses more plastic than an entire squad of space marines per figure, and all they did was sit on my shelf. Lego let me relax and build, but once that one initial build was done all they did was sit on my shelf. Warhammer lets me build, then paint, then display _AND_ I get the social outlet of visiting gaming stores to hang out _AND_ I get to play a table top game with them too. And I did the math. On average, just for painting and assembling, I get 2-4x the amount of time hobbying per dollar from Warhammer than I did from Lego. Getting into Warhammer was actually _anti-materialism_ (in the colloquial sense, not the Marxist sense), because I’m actively engaging in my local community by collecting, hobbying, and playing Warhammer locally.

I love reviews of reaction videos. The ones who make them are putting more effort into the review than the reaction part most of the time. Lovely jokes as always

some videos with visual and sounds of someone crafting something, like carpentry or jewelry, activates my asmr. Not all of them, just some that were like "man, this kinda makes me wanna learn carpentry now"

two things: half way through the video i noticed the toothless blushie AND OH MY GOD HE IS EVERYTHING!! secondly, i think you'd really enjoy the mother daughter relationship representation in films analysis videos, this goes for fellow audience members too, cause they tend to bring up some really interesting points that go further into internalized misogyny

As a gunpla builder who loves the poopie show I’m not throwing my used plastic in a landfill, I’m saving them to drop off at the ecopla dropboxes so they can be recycled into reused plastic kits
