Me too. There was a time I was stealing food from Walmart because we had no money. Food waste pisses me off, almost as much as people who just throw things together and try to call it a meal (my MIL can't cook worth a good gd damn. Sugar spaghetti. Sugar tacos. I'm not talking about like a tsp of sugar to cut the tomato acidity. No. I'm talking like a cup of sugar in the sauce. Yes, in the taco meat too. She thinks she's such a great cook and that everybody prefers her cooking over mine. she was getting thoroughly pissed off at me when I cooked for everyone there for a while because I'd make a lot, and it would all be gone and people were excited to eat it. Half of hers would be left and would go bad. )

Have you ever heard the tale of Moose turd pie? This takes place in the Canadian Tundra with a bunch of lumberjacks, everyone has a job has to do chore rotaions & cooking is one of those chores the only way out is if someone else complains about the food then it becomes their permanate job. Well one guy ended upas the "Chef" no matter what he made no one wanted to get stuck being the chef, as time went on he got despite & decidedto make adish so nasty someone had to complain finally relieving him of this chore from hell, as he pondered this he stepped into a huge pie of moose turd... Sadly most meat eaters waste good food. My mom buys organic vegetables that go unused and cooks large pots of mainly meat based meals that she my dad are forced to eat cause my siblings beg my parents to buy them McDonald's instead of eating what my mom made. I don't consume meat but my mom cooks so much that she has to throw it away or feed it to her dog. Her house starts to stink too cause it smells really bad. Her fridge also smells like a butcher shop.

Some irony with the food waste topic--I watched this video while eating a meal that came from my local foodbank yesterday. They collect all of the expired/unsold/etc. food from stores in town, millions of pounds of food averted from landfills and given to people who need it.

Step 1: Boil pasta until al dente, strain pasta and put into a mixing bowl. Step 2: Quickly mix in a small brick of sharp cheddar that's been finely cubed. Keep mixing until cheese is fully melted and coated the pasta. Step 3: stir in 1 1/2 cans of cream of mushroom Step 4: add whatever "non-hot dog" meat here, sliced or cubed to the mixture. Step 5: spread into a greased pan and top with thin 2x8 long sharp cheddar sticks (amount needed varies, a square pan should have them in a boxed X pattern). Step 6: bake covered at 350 degrees Farenheit for 30 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes after cooking.

Family members often buy phones for each other and put them on their plan. Burner phones are only $30. You're expected to have phones and internet for work and doctors. I don't even know why you'd think cell phone = rich when we give those to 12 yesr olds who don't have jobs. Never met a homeless person without a phone after 2015. Before 2015 they all went to the library to use computers and phones. Basic food groceries are $200 per person in the home every month. Phones can be free to $15 per month. Hooking up to the neighbor's wifi is always free too.

People do actually grill watermelon sometimes, especially in the south. It doesn't get soggier, having those grill marks improves the texture and gets rid of excess water because of all the heat. I would not add anything on top of grilled watermelon except maybe a little salt or pico fruta at the end. The addition of sauce and cheese makes her recipe gross, that's too much

Personally I can't do Pineapple on Pizza, not a flavor thing (no real preference there), for me specifically it's a texture issue. The Pineapple chunks throw off the texture of the Pizza and it ends up feeling weird in my mouth.
