Have you tried contacting Amazon support? They might be able to look into that for you in case there was a bug or something similar. I usually share the US links and let the one link work from there, as it it defaults to the chosen link, that's still the majority of my audience covered.

Amazon is starting to allow links in DMs if requested by people, but it's not clear yet what the rules around it are, how they will check and if they will award those sales. So stick to adding links in your bio link, in linktree links if you have multiple to share, or sending people to a landing page where you have the affiliate links there. To disclose, just type "affiliate link" or "ad" somewhere in the posts or where you share the link.

Great question. You don't need permission to share Amazon affiliate links from any of the authors or sellers. They approve it by selling on Amazon. So you're free to share your links. And you are free to give any rating you want - sellers/authors can't ask you to take it down - free speech is allowed.

It's the cookie period that's 24 hours - this is the period of time after someone clicks on one of your links that you will still be awarded the sale. If they click again, the countdown starts again. The links, once created, are otherwise active for good (unless the products themselves are take off Amazon).

You can do either, or do both. Plenty of affiliates have a following on other platforms without needing a blog (think KZbin, Instagram, FB etc), but it depends on the type of content you create. For written content or if you want to build an audience that is not depended on other platforms, a blog/website is the best solution! So many people underestimate it.

Let Amazon, with its miserable reduced commission, look for customers and promote sellers on its own. But the places can be used for other programs that give higher commissions.

You say that, but Amazon's conversion rates are much higher that other retailers. They offer faster (and often free) shipping, most people already have an account with them, they have a better refund policy and are available worldwide. Not to mention they are the only program that geo-tracks sales so you can monetize clicks form other countries.
