That's likely why they made it run long/ relabeled sizes, etc, to get the toe zoom out in front further where it's just flapping along rather than the bend taking a lot of pressure

ah good info, I just checked that connecting part of the zoom unit on my shoe, the outsole covering it ripped, but the rubber is still intact. I'm just waiting till it pops so I can return it 😂

That's what popped my zoom unit. That rubber ripped and then the plastic part got a hole and deflated... I don't even want to send them back for another one because it'll just do it again. They should've just made the two units independent from each other

omg thank you that is the same way my popped or the defect it sucks because my parents are divorcing and rn we are broke so i have to pay for my own shoes but im only 14 and only have my christmas left which is 80 bucks from my grandma, then i play aau and all that so i dont want to be playing in any new balance so it is difficult because im playing in popped kd 9 which feel like your stepping in a big glop of gum with no traction

Yeah, mine popped - wore them 2-3 days a week for approx 2 hrs a day, indoor courts only. And 3 months in use, they freakin' popped at training - good that it wasn't during a game. Because they decompress very quickly and become flat, therefore extremely uncomfortable to wear - it's as if you're playing barefoot - horrible feeling. I wouldn't recommend buying these if you want a durable shoe. KD doesn't have to worry about that bit cause he gets a new pair every 2 games or so... but for us ordinary people who probably can't afford to spend 100 dollars on shoes every few months, look for something more durable...

very interesting... great coverage, fellas. the "defect" is not actually a defect; meaning it was intentionally designed that way by the engineers. a defect suggests that the the error took place in the manufacturing process, not in the design. apparently nike didn't do proper/thorough durability testing on the shoe during its development, or they did uncover this during testing and did not think the air passage failure would occur often. nevertheless, nike's product development team dropped the ball on this one.
