Some of my favorite videos are ones where people are checking small tasks/projects off a to-do list. I don't know why they aren't more common. I find them way more motivating/satisfying than regular cleaning videos.

Majorly admire how you just get on with stuff. I’ve had a similar looking to do list for at least 7 months and it’s not like I don’t have the spare time do it I’m just the queen of procrastination and spend my entire day “refuelling” and getting myself washed and dressed 😂

Mexico City is in a high elevation valley surrounded by mountain peaks. The climate is cool and mild all year. One of its mottos is "City of Eternal Spring." Wear light layers and carry a backpack for your jacket, as the temps can vary a lot ftom morning to afternoon and even from different parts of the city (due to elevation changes). Most of the time it's a little too cool for swimming outside.

as a mexico city local, i’d advice you get a very good umbrella/raincoat and some comfortable rain boots because spring in mexico city can be warm in the morning and rainy and chilly in the afternoon (it’s been raining and thundering a lot this past week btw). also a good pair of shoes because it’s a place where you’ll have to do a lot of walking if you want to properly explore the city. there are many things to do here like going to museums (sundays are free! but beware because there’ll be a lot of people), exploring chapultepec, dining out in colonia roma or condesa, or watching a good film at the cineteca after roaming around in coyoacán. hope you enjoy your stay here and be safe!

I've lived in Mexico City for over 6 years. It's definitely not a pool hang out kind of city. It's actually quite uncommon to see people walk around in shorts too. Also take into account that if you want to do a lot of walking, you will need comfortable shoes, the side walks are often quite messed up from the earthquakes.. and lastly, take into account that there is a considerable temperature difference between sunny daytime (quite warm this time of the year) and evening/night time (it considerably drops because of the altitude). In terma of recommendations, Roma and Condesa have a variety of national design stores, also vintage stores. They also offer plenty of amazing restaurant, cafe and bar options. Definitely check out some of the main museums, Mexico City is surprisingly high up in the gallery and museum front. I personally am a huge fan of the Museo de Antropologia (prehispanic history museum), Jumex for modern art.. and you may want to do a day trip to the Teotihuacan pyramids and/or Xochimilco for a ride on the trajineras in the canals. Wishing you an amazing trip and lots of fun!!

Timers and lists are really helpful, especially for people with anxiety! Another thing I have also found that is helpful is to do the list in order (whatever order you write the list). It stops me from jumping from task to task without finishing the previous.

I also made a toothbrush holder from air drying clay, what helped me is sealing it with weatherproof lacquer, so I can wash the inside now and then. Also I placed one of my reusable face cotton rounds on the bottom, it soaks in the water drops from toothbrush and I throw it in the wash before it gets too gross. Never got moldy or anything, used that technique for couple of years now, it works ☺️ glad I didn’t have to throw it out

When I moved into my 1920s home, I thought the bathroom light and fan were both broken for a month, but it turns out they were actually just on the same circuit as the GFCI outlet next to the sink. All I had to do was press the reset button on the outlet. 😂 (It was still an electrical issue I had to fix, since that is in no way up to code, but at least it meant I could stop using a floor lamp on an extension cord, which was even less safe)

Elliott is absolutely correct! Waffle towels are THE worst. I can't stand them even as rags or kitchen towels, not to mention BIG ones??? Fluffy! Towels!! I think coffee shops are made for whatever you may need. Food or drinks, it's there for you. Your gallery wall in the toilet actually inspired me. I'm about to make a full apartment renovation & I'm thinking what I personally can pull off with photos of my family. I have some really old black & white pictures, then I have some colored ones. I don't like black and white ones & I'm not sure how to manage that for it to look good.

It is a city rich in culture so museums are a must: anthropology; Chapultepec Castle; Frida and Diego houses. Be careful taking UBER.

Fun vid! Mexico City is great: visit the Cathedral and go up to the roof; explore the Archeological Museum; toodle through the Zoo; find a restaurant in the La Condesa neighborhood. There are hot springs in San Miguel de Allende with swimming pools on the same grounds, but that's quite far away. Look for something similar close by. Have a good trip!

Mexico city is WONDERFUL ! You're going to love it....just be careful crossing the street, driving is crazy there. Enjoy the tacos, but bring some immodium in case you get a bad taco....I speak from experience...it was not cute. DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY go to see Frida Kahlos Blue house just outside of Mexico City, the town square there is very nice. If you go to the nearby pyramid and plan on climbing it, where the right shoes, it's a STEEP climb. Safe travels !

I'm from Europe. It's unfortunately not just the US with the crazy housing prices. A (small) plot of land alone costs pretty much the same as building an entire house, where I'm from. Also, thanks to the shortages after COVID, material costs are skyrocketing, and living space is limited as is. The only "somewhat affordable" option here is to add another floor to your parents/relatives house which brings another slew of problems into the mix. So, yeah, I'm joining the crying party 😭

Regarding one of your items in the list, "find a place where you can recycle old computers": as far as I know, or at least in the EU, when you buy any tech item you are already paying for its afterlife deposit, so you can to take it back to any shop that deals with tech stuff (so even Walmart) and they are obliged to take it from you, they will then deal with the recycling of computer parts etc.

BRING WARM CLOTHES!!! you look cute but it gets cold and rainy in Mexico city and the air gets thin sometimes just a heads up. Earthquakes yes, bikinis no, unless your traveling to other cities too. People in Mexico always wear jeans no matter the weather. Also never put things in you back pockets of your jeans front only. There are women and kids only trains for safety (and they tend to be cleaner then the men trains) Do not eat at just any food stall choose wisely or get diarrhea. And have fun vist the city park hear some people sing, play the violin, watch a monkey do tricks. lots of street preforms some are very creative, oh and careful when taking pictures with dresses up as characters its not free! If yo bring nuts you can feed the several species of squirrels. It's a fun place don't let me scare you, just be aware.

A trick for lose anchors where you do not want to drill a new hole--get a roll of plaster casting, cut a rectangle of casting twice as long as the anchor is deep; fold it over into a square and get it wet--wrap around the old anchor, put it back in the wall and let it dry.

In Mexico or DF, as they call it (Federal District) be sure not to miss the archeological museum, and the colonial style quarters of Coyoacan (where Frida Kahlo’s and Trotsky’s homes are, the contrast could not be greater between the two) and San Angel, where you must check out the Bazaar flea market. Don’t wear jewelry or be too obviously a tourist. Make good Mexican friends. I did and they made my stay unforgettable. With love from Spain.

Hey Kelsey! Mexico City native here. There already is a comment that very much explains everything in amazing detail but I just wanted to add that you should bring confortable walking shoes, you'll be doing toooons of walking here and the pavement is not the best. As for pool culture, it's not a pool city, you might get a day pass at a hotel with a pool if you have good weather but I'd recommend going to Chapultepec or Xochimilco or Coyoacán for sightseeing, maybe even the pyramids en Teotihuacán rather than staying at a pool. As mentioned before, don't rent a car. Driving in this city is a national sport and finding parking spots/traffic is insane. Visit all the places mentioned above but also visit places like Lago Algo, Casa Luis Barragán, definitely go to the antique flea market in La Lagunilla on Sunday.

Ma'am. I love Mexico City because my entire family lives there but I would not walk around in those outfits. I look Mexican and speak Spanish but I wouldn not recommend looking like that. When my cousin visits (U.S.A.) she is so relieved to be able to wear shorts. That said, it's a great cultural visit! Lots of museums, opportunities for day trips to nearby pueblos (pueblos magicos if you want to look it up). Chapultepec, the kiosko in Villa De La Rosa, the pyramids! would be great for photos.

I did a Mother's Day photo gift for both of my moms, where I gave them the choice of black and white or color. I was visiting my future spouse over spring break, and I was hanging out in their little garden, put flowers in my hair, and took selfies. Later, I liked one of the shots so much that I told my partner to take a selfie against the same tree so I could frame them and hang them side by side. Then Mother's Day snuck up in the middle of finals and moving, and our anniversary. I got 2 hinged photo frames and printed 4 copies of each photo, 2 in timeless black and white, and 2 in color, because I crazy purple hair, which is less timeless, and the fushia of the flowers, put a copy of each inside the frame, with one set showing the color and one set not. We took our parents out to our favorite Mexican restaurant and handed our moms their gifts, and they got to see both versions of the photos, and could switch the photos if they preferred the other version and had the other version if there was somewhere else they wanted to put it. That might have been the first Mother's Day I spent with both moms, and the next one was in the middle of our wedding and sister's graduation. At our wedding we had a photo display of pictures from our parents' weddings, a photo from when we started dating, and pictures of where we eloped. My uncle walked me down the aisle because RIP dad, so I had a picture of my uncle being a ring bearer for my parents. Our ring bearer was 6 months old when we started dating.
