I have been a Sorry Fan for years now, and I rarely comment, but I just have to say that your craftsmanship as well as the quality of your videos increases every single year. You constantly outdo yourselves and it's amazing to see how far you guys have come, especially with the things that you are able to now create which are all of store bought quality. Bravo ladies ✨✨

I honestly preferred the wood vibes of the bench pre-wallpaper (maybe painting it to make it all consistent?) but you nailed the dupe aspect of the recreation. The mirror is stunning!

You forgot to mention that when you are making your cuts to get the wood to bend, you have to cut WITH the grain or else it won't work.

@k.wilkinson39012 жыл бұрын
I believe that the pistol grip glass cutter has a place for you to put the oil inside it. The bottom gold "button" should open and you can add oil inside the tool. Then when you apply pressure the oil can seep out through the scoring portion helping lubricate the tool to score the glass better. My grandfather used to make stained glass windows for various churches my the area. I helped him out a lot with his work and he had an older version of this tool, could be different but it looks the same.
@chrisshimizu3082 жыл бұрын
that’s right - i use the same kind for stained glass, and the oil goes in the handle. makes the cuts a lot easier, so you’re not fighting the curves as much.

Loved these DIYs as someone who is both an amateur woodworker AND beginner stained glass artist! Commenting because I have a few tips that I thought could help you with any future glass/mirror cutting projects. The handle of the glass cutting tool you were using should actually twist open at the end and hold oil, so you don’t have to apply it to the tip externally. I would also look into alternative ways to grip your scorer, the way you held it works but is more tiring than other options. Also, I was taught to push more forward than down as it gives you more control and is easier on your arms. Also for anyone looking to start out, try not to backtrack or pick up the tool mid-score, it exponentially increases the chances of your piece breaking in the wrong direction. Also the pencil trick works for simple, large cuts but they sell clamps and pliers that would work better for most applications. Love the channel and the video!!
