On this episode, Jacob talked with a bunch of great deer hunters at the Mobile Hunters Expo in Kalamazoo MI! A lot of these guys are well known for being able to consistently stay on big deer whether they are at home, or traveling to hunt. In this episode, Jacob picks their brains on what they do to effectively locate and methodically hunt big bucks wherever they go!

This is GOLD! Having multiple people in one episode allows us listeners to see some significant similarities and differences with guys who know their craft. It gives us a lot to consider. This is one of the most straight up podcasts out right now and I'm glad I found some good listening for the work commute. Keep it up guys!

Andy, John Eberhart, and Dan are the best make it happen bow hunters in the country. Love hearing Andy and Dan talk. Both super humble and straight honest.

Why deer hunting is difficult for a lot of people: Dan infant - “find thick overlooked stuff with good sign” Johnny Stewart - “they don’t need to live in that jungle and don’t leave much sign” Tyler - “e-scout” Johnny - “if it looks good on a map, don’t go there”

Each scenario is different. What works for Johnny doesn't work perfectly for here other guys. What are the most important things that they all say? Entry, exit, pressure, scout scout scout scout.

Exactly! It’s easy to get confused with all of this. I think adding the human pressure is what makes it so complicated now. With OnX and KZbin and all the private land getting leased so more people hunting public, it’s not uncommon to find other hunters on the spots that I used to find using county maps and government GIS back in the day. Have to keep adjusting!

I believe it depends on what part of Ohio you are hunting in . Not all public land has a lot of big bucks .

There are big deer all over Ohio.

Agreed. Some areas of Public are not too productive. Even though there are large racked deer throughout the state.

I just wanna put this out there bcuz my brother has been hunting mature deer in north east (old tb zone) shot a 3.5 year old that grossed 163 net 155 9 point. He could have been older but based off his body 155 lbs I can't see him being over 3.5. A 3.5 year old good buck in southern Michigan can dress 190.

Amen brother!!! They couldn't kill a mature doe on film with bow in a month and we have 100 per square mile! I go to Illinois every year just to get a break and hunt DUMB DEER!

All great guys and successful northern and western deer hunters, but we are kinda getting away from the name of the podcast. None of these guys are successful deer hunters in the south. Yeah all make great points and are useful to a degree. Hunting in the south is no where near the same as where these guys hunt! Great people to chat with though
