It will be when they get to put a larger capacity battery in it that takes up the same space as the current battery. It's a great EV with the only major issue being the range given that it's built for road trips. As an every day vehicle taking the kids to school, practice, parties, etc, it seems like a great alternative option if you can afford it.

I didn't realize how expensive this currently was. It needs to be closer to the $60K before tax credits to be competitive.

Great video. Nice smoke special effects. Yes price is an issue, but range is going to make many hesitate. Here in the US it gets no heat pump. I agree it will sell well here initially, it is the world first cool minivan. Not sure if it will continue to sell. The shot with the 3rd row removed is the best. Awesome space.

@@TheStraightPipes It was clever to drive on your no driving impressions video. Worked better than the others I’ve seen that just play with the in infotainment in a parked Buzz. Plus none of them have a Fast Times From Ridgemont High reference.

Awesome The Dead Logo on one side and a picture of Zippy The Pin Head on the other side. Or the Uncle Sam US Bongs Logo on the back door!!! Guess how old I am if I’m strutting those pieces of art??? Great Video Thank You 🙏

Funny how VW literally started the van craze, walked away from it for decades and then came back with an impossibly short range 80k joke. It does look cool.

I grew up with an orange 70's Microbus and would love to have one of these (in two tone orange and white) to the point that I would consider trading in my Alltrack for one, but like you guys said, it's too damn expensive. I can't justify the cost, especially not with all the trade-offs you need to accept in an EV just piled on top of that plus skyrocketing insurance rates here in California. $65k (USD) is just too much unless you're wealthy, which most folks aren't, so I truly don't know how they're going to move these. I really want this model to succeed because I love it but the price is way too high.

4:12 Long Wheel Base is also available in Europe. However you seem to be getting the bright blue (two tone) which is currently not available in Europe… and the AWD in Europe is called GTX with a different (dark) interior and different bumper…

The CHEAPEST one is still $60kUSD? I actually really like what they've done with this car/van/bus thing, but there are 20 other cars I'd rather buy at that price point.

The options In Europe are better they have a few more color options that match the exterior better for example you can get this white with teal accents rather than the orange and it would match this specific exterior color

Moneywise, for a long trip with 5 to 7 people rent a Chrysler Pacifica minivan with a V6 engine (not the more unreliable hybrid). The more expensive Toyota Sienna gets better gas mileage but does not drive as well, and is unlikely to be available as a rental. Any minivan is too much money if you do not need the extra seats and extra cargo space.
@weirdshibainu4 сағат бұрын
Yep. Did a 1,000 mile road trip/back packing excursion with a couple of friends. Rented the Pacifica. Drove it like I stole it. Doors must have opened and closed a thousand times in the 2 weeks on the road.
