Vaders biggest mistake (and something he couldn’t necessarily control) is the fact he was trained by Sidious. While both the ancient Sith philosophy and the Rule of Two both had their flaws, the fact of the matter remains that Sidious didn’t believe in the Rule of Two. He believed in the rule of one. He never intended on Vader striking him down and succeeding him as he did to Plagueis, Plagueis did to Tenebrous, and so on. He intended on ruling forever and disposing of Vader when he was no longer useful, as he did Tyranus. Had Vader been trained by a Sith such as the spirits of Exar Kun, Revan, or even Marka Ragnos, he would’ve had a much better chance of reaching his full potential. But the philosophy held by the ancient Sith who hated Vader and Sidious was flawed as it was ultimately self-destructive. Even when they came within a hair’s breadth of conquering the Republic, they always failed due to infighting and betrayal.

Actually i think Sidius DID believe in the rule of two. In its purest form the rule clearly state that the sith apprentice must EARN the throne. If Vader could not find his own way to defeat sidious, he would not be worthy. Thus a new apprentice was better, and Sidius had his sight on Luke/Leia, and eventually Rey. Tyranous was disposed because he was no longer the best bet, to continue the sith legacy, as Anakin had grown stronger, and he knew he could be turned. In all his time Dooku, did not manage to overthrow Sidious, and in that case the rule of two states, that he is unworthy of the sith legacy.

I have a feeling that both ideologies of Ancient and Modern Sith are very off putting. The Ancient Sith understandably were more warrior-like and wanted to beat the Jedi saber to saber this as well as believing the dark is always greater than the light yet never fully taking out the Order entirely. The Modern Sith had a good plan of working in the shadows, not quite like the Sith of old, but having to change tactics in order to completely destroy the Jedi Order entirely. Funny, the more you listen and learn about the Jedi/Sith lore, the more you realize how messed up both sides became in the movies that we know. Jedi's are peacekeepers of life, not politicians. They aren't supposed to be siding with anyone, just against conflict. Sith are power hungry, not necessarily the Jedi's nemesis but merely super nerds of the force. Quite frankly, if the Jedis weren't so scared of the dark side and shunned the Sith, there wouldn't be any conflict between them at all. At the same time, can't really blame the Jedis. They're trying to preserve the natural way of life, but powerful enough Siths can alter that very natural way of life Jedis try to keep. Both the Jedis and Siths deviated from their original beliefs in the movies as far as I'm concerned. At the very least, that is what I'm understanding from watching and listening to Sith/Jedi videos.

@christopherpoet4582 жыл бұрын
I think for this to take shape, Sidious would have to die. Plagieus would be aware of this and if he found out Sidious's intentions soon enough, he could have probably disposed of Sidious. But there also comes a problem in that Sidious was the puppet master Plagieus created. Disposing of him might remove Sidious as a competator, but it would also deplete the control they obtained over the Senate. So, in light of that... a few things would have to happen. First, Plagieus would need to reallucate the political power Sidious possessed into someone elses hands. A difficult task already when we consider that part of Sidious's success was hinged on being able to read the minds of the senators and determien their desires and how to fit it within his own agenda to keep their favor. It would need to be someone force sensative who was strong enough in skill to do the same thing. Otherwise, they would have to back away from the Galactic Republuc completely and put their entire hope on the formation of the CIS/Sepertist Movement. The clone wars might still happen as long as the right pieces were still in place, but we would not likely get order 66. Order 66 could only be inniciated by Sidious. (from what I understand it was his personal tough to the grand plan and he didn't tell anyone who didn't need to know about order 66 until he had to include it as a emergency order to deal with rogue Jedi) So either Order 66 would be impossible to issue or they would have to modify the plan to make up for the death of Sedious. Anakin would probably still play into the grand plan, but I don't think it would be as messed up as what Sedious did. From what I have heard of Plagieus aned Count Dooku, neither of them were as obcessed with the Jedi's distruction per-say. Especially Dooku. My bet is that Anakin would somehow be drawn to the Dark Side still and Dooku would probably be the one to pull at him. How that would happen is the only part I am not sure of. The only thing I can think of is that Dooku and Anakin would have to be put into a situation either willingly or unwillingly where Anakin would have to listen to Dooku about the failures of the Jedi Order and his desire to rebuild a new order for a better tomorrow, which is exactly what Anakin invisioned in Attack of the Clones before the Clone Wars began. He had his own fustrations with the Senate and Jedi both. Fustrations Dooku could relate too and Plagieous could make use of. At this this is my understanding so far on how it might go. I am confident though for it to play out Sedious would HAVE to die. He would not be left alive to assume power.

to be honest the only Sith Lord Palpatine and Vader would have had to concern themselves with is Bane, on account Bane is the only Sith Lord who is stronger than them both. He is also teh Sith Lord that would hate them the most, Due to Palpatine the rule of 2 failed. Bane betrayed his masters and students because he realized arrogance and acts of self grandeur were killing the sith. To many people believed themselves more important than the Sith Empire, and as result it lead to infighting and self destruction. His whole plan with the Rule of 2 was to practice patience. While only 2 Sith exist they would constantly combat each other, and be at each others throats, In turn this made self preservation important, in order to survive in the order of 2 you must always get stronger and better. The role of master and apprentice was two fold, the master taught the apprentice, but they both kept each other capable of conflict to the highest ability. But while all this happened, the Jedi, without any meaningful enemy that could realistically threaten them would grow weak. their use of the force would default to supportive rather than combative, their ability to duel with lightsabers would fall apart since they would primarily fight blasters, this was shown really well in the prequels, when Obi Wan and Anakin fought Count Doku, If it were not for Palpatine Doku would have won, because he was far more practiced in combat both force and lightsaber on lightsaber combat. At that point the Jedi no longer knew how to fight a dark force user, look at Quigon and Maul, a basic trained darkside user was able to kill a Jedi Master with little to no effort all because they were out of practice. These things should have cemented in Palpatine that the rule of 2 was working. But instead, His pride kicked in. Sheev Palpatine was a ignorant self idolizing fool. He broke the rule of two because he believed himself superior, He could not stand the idea of being just another Sith Lord who would die in obscurity, thus the "Tragic story of Plagius the wise" His master as wise and powerful as he was, died, unkown to anyone. Palpatine refused, he broke the rule of two, underestimated the Jedi's remaining strength, and revealed the existence of the Sith FAR to early. The moment he had Maul make his move the Jedi knew the Sith were back, The moment they saw Doku they knew the sith were hiding. This ultimatly lead to Palpatine being discovered by the order. Even after Anakin saving him, He again underestimated them. Order 66, grand and quick, but ultimately it failed, Jedi felt it coming, and Jedi survived. And in order to hunt them, He built up a order of assassins lead by his apprentice and sent them out to hunt and kill the remnants of the Jedi. Bane if alive, would have killed Palapatine if he was his apprentice, he would have realized Palpatines ego was a threat to the survival of the sith. Generations of progress destroyed because one idiot could not follow the one simple rule. "One master, One Apprentice. If you take and Apprentice, Ill kill you and your apprentice, If I take another apprentice, you must kill me and mine."

Kylo was the best part of the sequels imo. Seemed like last jedi was setting up Kylo establishing his own kind of dark side rule that would differ than what we knew before, then Abrams took the lazy route and brought back the emperor. Out of all the sequel characters Kylo is at least the most complex and interesting. He was an unstable element that made you wonder what he was going to do next. I agree though Luke being a master would have been more entertaining. I don't mind him feeling regretful and a lot of pain after losing Kylo to the dark side but seeing Rey get proper training would have been so much better.
@eyl0rien612 жыл бұрын
@@Deadflower20xx You've got a point, but i have to disagree. Personally, i think he's character is lame. Why would i say that? Disney made Kylo an attention seeking emo boy, who destroys everything, if they prove him wrong. This could've work, if they made him like Sion. Disney made him this way, cuz there're a lot of kids out there who have to deal with the same issues as the character, so these kids could relate. The redemtion arc was the tipical Disney shit. Bad boy needs to become good to get the girl. In the end he wasn't a jedi or dark jedi. He became a grey jedi. He was willing to use dark side force abilities and embrace the dark side for the greater good. Ressurecting Sidious was a bad move, yes, but it wasn't the only reason why we hated the sequel movies. Unpopular Opinion: Darth Sidious was the strongest sith to ever exist at least in terms of accomplishments. While Vader was just becoming a dark lord, Sidious had literally designed a 10D level master geopolitical plan, established essentially a self-dictatorship and basically killed 99% of the Jedi. This was all achieved before Vader was even Vader. If you really think about it, Vader was really just a highly skilled henchman (not much different than Darth Maul who had to fight scores of actual Jedi). Vader had the entire might of the consolidated military power of the galaxy and was going up against all non-force using beings. That would be like Lebron James playing against a 5th grader. I get that Vader gets special attention because the lore that was discussed in the originals was “highest midiclorian count” and “the chosen one,” but in terms of accomplishments Sidious achieved like 100x more for the sith goals.

I think Palpatine is the true sith lord in here, not Vader because we are never able to see Vader seeking power, aside that one time he wanted to save Padme. Yes, Vader got power thru all his quests Palpatine sent him but he never went after it by himself. Anakin was having visions of his mother in suffering and no one besides Padme tried to help him somehow (very Jedi like huh?!), was this because he had to detach from his mother? I imagine Shmi and Anakins mother and son connection being stronger than the normal person, because of the way Anakin was created, without a father and all and he sensed her in danger, without a single soul to help him deal with it or going after Shmi. Anakin was a pawn to the light side, same way he was a pawn to the dark side. Lets say Vader didn't die and killed Luke and Leia, what would he do? I never saw Vader or Anakin wanting something and going after it, besides family business. It seems Palpatine wanted to rule forever, abandoning the rule of two but sometimes he said he had foresaw Vader killing him and ruling over the galaxy. Palpatine sought power and acquired it, by using everything and everyone available to him. I say Palpatine never had a true apprentice, one who like him, sought the power of his master. Vader shows fear/hate towards Palpatine but I didn't see Vader wanting Palpatines power. Palpatine put himself in a place very hard to be taken over and even if he didn't follow the rule of two, the apprentice who were able to kill him and take his place would be stronger and wiser than lots of sith lords and jedis from the past. The way SW shows it, Palpatine uses apprentices as tools and he is very good in controlling this tools. Despite all that, apprentices have free will and eventually someone would seek any kind of forbidden knowledge, perhaps unknown by Palpatine and that could help in the fight between Palpatine and his apprentice. Building a sith empire means nothing compared to what Palpatine did and achieved. Focusing the dark side of the force in fewer individuals seems to be more effective than having a sith empire with free willed individuals.

Honestly, the Rule of Two is what ultimately weakened and destroyed the Sith. Better to have 10,000 soldiers infighting to become Emperor than to have 2-3 Sith fighting a foe (Jedi) that do not honor this rule of two. This would anger Old Republic Sith. Plus, Palpatine did not respect the rule of two, and he used and abused his padawans to secure power for himself, rather than for the master and the apprentice. This would make the post-Bane Sith hate him and Vader. If Vader would've been properly trained by a true Sith master BEFORE being sent to fight a Jedi master, the results would've been unrecognizable compared to what actually happened. Palpatine should've taken Anakin away from the Jedi, instead of using him to spy and take out the Jedi from the inside. Five years of hard Sith training, and Vader would've annihilated Obi Wan and the Jedi order while remaining fully intact.

Sidious didn't send Vader to fight Obi-Wan... He was sent to kill separatist leaders, it's Obi-Wan that found him. Sidious didn't expect at all that Vader would lose and would be crippled against Obi-Wan and more important: that he would have to fight him in the first place. Yoda warned him: "Faith in your new apprentice misplaced may be". I think Sidious was strongly deceived by Vader failure against Obi-Wan and then totally changed his way to perceive Vader (his new genious apprentice that was supposed to surpass everyone became a trash tool). In ROTS Sidious really believed Vader would overpower him and become the strongest sith ever (that's my opinion, I may be wrong) but then changed his mind after Vader failure. His saddistic behavior against Vader shows how deceived he is.

The rule of two didn't exclude dark side soldiers though did it? Sidious and Vader actively cultivated dark side users, they were just the most powerful. So realistically it wouldn't have made much difference. Furthermore, it isn't the role of the Master to care about their apprentices, if the apprentice is not skilled or powerful enough to kill the Master then they don't deserve to become the master. That's literally the entire point.

My personal belief is the original ideology of Je’daii was the only true path so of course I believe the Sith were foolish in their choice to disregard the Jedi however I also agree with Ancient Sith Lords that Darth Bane’s Rule of 2 was mistake especially considering the cowardice that Sidious used to control people by hiding his identity even after the Jedi were long dead like the Ancient Sith Lord mentioned in the comic Sidious and Vader should’ve been proud of the Dark side instead of the way they were. In the end both the Ancient and current Sith made a critical mistake when concerning the Jedi that led to the Sith ultimate defeat in the current Era.
@gontrandjojo97472 жыл бұрын
Sidious is not coward, he is a pragmatic cynical politician. He was not an almighty god (despite the bullshits shown in episode 9) and had to be smart and practical. Sidious is not at fault if the Sith were only 2 (so totally overpowered by Jedi, he was forced to hide and be smart). Even after he took control over the galaxy, he could not show up and just say: "hey the truth is i'm an evil sith, I manipulated all of you bitches to take control of the galaxy, now bow to me bastards hahahaha". He had to remain smart and practical to secure and keep his power (he was powerfull but not almighty and could have been overthrown easily if not for being smart and secure his power with political control and manipulations like Stalin did for exemple). The dark side was only some tool that helped him to secure his goal, but he achieved everything he did mainly thanks to his political manipulations, not thanks to his use of the dark side. To me, Sidious remains a real Sith (unlike someone like Bane for exemple). Sidious uses the dark side to serve his own personnal interest (rule over the galaxy) but it's only a tool among many other tools (military, death star, political manipulations). Bane was a servant a dark side instead of using the dark side to serve his personnal interests ("I must hide, raise an apprentice that will surpass me and kill me, to make the dark side stronger"... I mean wtf???). A true Sith is supposed to use the dark side to serve himself, not use himself to serve the dark side.

I loved the video. But i really hate how people say that you lose your mitoclorian count, the measurements are clearly state to be taken by a small blood sample. And the count is state to be per cell. Meaning that the count can never lower. This together with that a being of the size of grogu could never have that many total mitoclorians compared to an average human. As the mass of cells of a human is about 37,2 trillion, and lets say a large cat has a count of only 7,8 trillion. So vader didn't lose any of his mitoclorians count, what a theorie is on why in legends he is stated to be less powerful after wards. Is the theory that he himself believed it from sidius. Thus limiting himself by excident. Kinda like how some force users cut them selfs of from the force after trauma. Together with that his suite was extremely limiting him.

Even though the Darth Vaders suit always engineered to have him in disadvantage, the midiclorian count dropped. The Sith's downfall is they do not understand the lesson of The Ring of Gyges, Plato discussed a magic ring that made one invisible, actually made you immune to the consequences of your actions. Plato through his character Glaucon asks whether any man can be so virtuous that he could resist the temptation of this power. Socrates answers that the man who abused the power of the Ring of Gyges has in fact enslaved himself to his appetites. The Sith speak of freedom, but are enslaved by their appetites. The Jedi speak of control, but many follow laws/rules imposed by others out of fear of punishment and not from incorporating it into their own internal moral code. The Sith are slaves, and the Jedi are the classic Nietzschian Untermensch. As an aside, an Ubermensch does not disregard all rules and laws, they may incorporate them into their own code, which they follow. If an Ubermensch sees a sign 'School Zone Speed Limit 25 mph/40 kph' he doesn't scoff and say I am above such laws, he might think, that's actually a good idea: kids darting out in front of me, parents driving distracted, I shall henceforth drive 25 mph through this school zone barring greater considerations. And will do so near religiously. The Untermensch drives 25 mph through a school zone to avoid a traffic ticket. The problem with the Untermensch is that where the laws/rules are removed, they fall also into the trap of the Ring of Gyges because they have no internal code to fall back on. So the few Grey Jedi who were masters of themselves, followed their internal code of morality were the only ones who were true to themselves. They could be killed but they were Force-wise on better footing.

Funny enough, my name is Cade. To hear there is a Skywalker in Star Wars Legends sharing my first name, makes me proud. If it were me me as Skywalker, I'd keep a red lightsaber as my primary blade with blue being my 2nd primary blade. And maybe purple as my 2rd primary blade.

there's something i dont understand after seeing 2:30 and remembering how supposedly when two jedi have a kid it results in a stronger force user. why isnt this the same for sith, they do inbreeding like nobodys bussiness and plagueis etc are also proof of this practice, but why arent they stronger then, is there a ceiling? or is there a lamarian instead of darwininan view of evolution and after being cripppled by the darkside their potential is reduced resulting in less powerful offspring? context: iirc it was lamar that proposed evolution used the traits of a being present at conception, as if dna constantly rewrit itself as opposed to darwin who said it was the survivors that passed on traits just by virtue of happenstance or casual innate adaptability.

Its Amazing how one mans ideas and creativity put on paper with ink n a book can make such an impact in our lives as in society in general I mean every 1 knows stars wars at least by name even if u didn't read the books or watch the movies. the idea to b able to turn ink into something worth more than gold itself is amazing I mean I'm not even a writer but respect to George Lucas man straight up made a entire universe.

To this day I am convinced, that if the ancient sith had viewed the Jedi as palatine and Vader did, the Jedi would have been wiped during their time instead of during that in which it did and the jedi would have faced the struggles of rebuilding long before as well.

I always thought that Luke was the real chosen one, but that power was also reflected through his farther Vader which led both the sith and the jedi to make a mistake and think it was Anikin.

Knowledge wise I would definitely say Sidious had more knowledge than some of the elder Sith Lords Power wise Vader embodied that together they made in an unstoppable force it was only when Vader turned on Sidious that’s when the sith truly fell

The Sith of old for the most part were more foolish in the fact that they underestimated the Jedi which made it easier for the Jedi to defeat them. Sidious didn't underestimate the Jedi to the same extent, he acknowledged the fact that Yoda, Mace, and Anakin were truly power warriors and not to be underestimated. He only put his guard down after Order 66 believing at that point there were to few Jedi for them to actually be a threat anymore.

That sounded pretty cool. "Bring balance to the force."... Like a teeter totter... One sits down to the ground on a wood board, while the other floats high on the other end of the same wood board... I wanna see if I can stand on the fulcrum... Wheeee Yay!!... BALANCE. May the force be with you & try to have a good night. : )

I like this. It's a bit like how long time standing business can still be successful with new owners/CEO's but still quite different from the past. I work at a small business that is successful and I've been there off and on since 2003 and the current iteration of it is quite different.

5:30 this is true but its ironic bc Sidious is undoubtedly the most powerful Sith Ruler of all time with the highest potential & reached that potential, & Vader was going to be the most powerful entity of all time in his highest potential but even with his severed limbs, he still had over 18k Mitichlorians in his reserve & was extremely powerful & knowledgeable in the force he was the 2nd most powerful Sith ever & cud best any Jedi of any time except for maybe Yoda.
