I put 18x8.5 with 245/40/18 Michelin pilot super sports my 2021 boost blue. Completely transformed the handling especially unstrung weight. I put a high flow k&n air filter you can the turbo much more and better throttle response. I also did a left and right muffler delete. Sounds deeper and way better. All resonators still on the car. That’s it. All it needs.

You should check out my Milltek Exhaust video, it sounds crazy. Also you would be very surprised at the size tire you can fit on a Type R. I have 275 re71r tires on 18X10 rims the grip is just insane. I may even be able to stuff a 295 tire on there... but may need some slight modification.

i own a 2018 Type R. It's the best daily car. Gas is great if you leave it in comfort mode, since the throttle repose is decreased. I got lucky and got mine used with only 6k miles. Bought it from Dustin Williams when he own an R

Remember, this is not Honda's doing and they are not making a single red cent on this. It's the dealer cashing in on that extra profit after they paid factory invoice for a vehicle with relatively low demand that usually sits on the lot for longer periods of time than any other. In short they are taking advantage of you the consumer. I would maybe consider one at MSRP but in all fairness, it's not worth $40k+

TBH it's not that much different than the standard Type R. I currently own a 2019 Type R and my buddy has the Limited Edition. On the track, the time differences are negligible. My advice is to purchase the standard Type R and use the money saved to modify it.

Yeah, they didn't change much for the premium over the base Type R. And Topher is right - dealer mark-up is insane. Last month saw one advertised at a Portland, OR dealer for just under 70K. It is a remarkable car, but not a 70k car by any stretch. You'd have to be gambling that this will be a valuable collectable someday, and even with that, be willing to barely drive it and properly preserve it for many years. I don't have the time, space, or patience for that. The red seats with the yellow exterior is remarkably ugly. For the price increase over the standard R, you'd think they could at least spring for a different seat color that goes better with the yellow exterior.

Same! While obviously I can and do sometimes drive automatics I have always preferred and feel more comfortable in a manual. My pickup is a manual. My older civic is a manual. My previous civics have been manuals. They just don't make many anymore and I'm glad Honda is keeping that option alive. I have seen the new Ford Focus RS's come in manual options but there aren't many others that do until you get into high end/luxury vehicles.

You can turn the traction control off at any time. Just hold the button down till it says fully off. But it does not handle as well if you do. Turns off the agile handling system too. Which brakes the back wheels on the high speed sharp turns.

I 100% agree, I once turned the traction control off on the track and it did not help me at all. The traction control system is not invasive... at least on my 2019 it is not. Handles much better with traction on in my opinion.

Have had Ap1 and CR s2ks and now have LE CTR. S2k is a little stiffer. CTR in R mode is very stiff but car just hunkers down and rips in the corners. I usually leave car in default (Sport) mode and its great for use on most roads. The 20" wheels arent helping anything either but again, its a manageable stiffness thanks to the different settings

I think you should take a drive in a Fiesta ST. The handling is exceptional. It weighs 2700lbs, has a short wheelbase, very sharp steering, and a very playful chassis that lovess trail braking and liftoff oversteer. I drive a 2001 Miata and stock for stock the Dynmaics are much better then my Miata. I honestly liked it even better then the Focus RS.
