This is what I was talking about in the CRX Si a couple months ago. The character and engineering behind every little detail are what makes these cars better than the newer cars, Honda or not. Doesn't mean I don't love my 2013 Si, but these cars are what really expanded Honda's reputation. Although there are a few good cars out of their new lineup, they are really just riding off of their reputation these days.
@poweredbyrice570814 күн бұрын
New cars are terrible just a way to get A to B...they are huge and heavy with 8" thick doors, smashed interiors despite being huge.
@wackyklinger60214 күн бұрын
@@poweredbyrice5708 I like the usability of the new Hondas, very easy to use and they get fantastic fuel economy, their 2023 and up cvts are very very smooth and easy to service, but like you said, they are just a way to get to A to B. The smoothness and isolation translates into a very boring experience. With the Si, using the same 1.5t as most of the other smaller cars up to the pilot, it just sounds like a generator and isn't very exciting.
@poweredbyrice570814 күн бұрын
@@wackyklinger602 Actually the MPG is worse in newer cars and they are easy to use which makes them boring and they are easy to use and impossible to repair yourself.
@wackyklinger60214 күн бұрын
@@poweredbyrice5708 I've owned plenty of older cars including a 2004 Honda Accord, a 1997 Nissan Sentra, among others. These got the best fuel economy of them all, but they definitely don't get near as good fuel economy as the new Hondas, especially the civic. One thing I like about Honda is that, besides all of the electronic crap that for some things you have to go to the dealer for or have a $10k scan tool, are still very easy to work on and in some aspects even easier. That said, for the most part, the new ones still aren't as easy to work on as the older ones overall.

Man, I can practically feel that VTECH in my bones from this side of the screen. And those buttery-soft shifts! It's videos like these that make me question Honda's judgment and stewardship of its greatest nameplates. The Integra was well-loved and, beyond its healthy sales numbers, had a thriving enthusiast crowd. So, what did Acura do? It canceled it. Ditto for the Acura Legend. And the Prelude, CRX, S2000, and of course the legendary NSX. Some of these had alphabet-soup replacements, some didn't, but in any case Honda/Acura let them die. It's sad when the suits have more say than the engineers or, for that matter, the people who love (loved) their cars.
