I have the A-Spec and while it's not a performance sedan, it's definitely sports sedan. The chassis is just so satisfying. Driving it as a daily driver is fun and feels like you're driving a really high priced sedan (although it's pretty high priced for me, no overpriced, just expensive for a vehicle to take you to work). The ELS system is gold, it's never quiet during my drives. I'm super humbled by it, it's a great car. One thing to boost performance would be some gripper tires. I probably won't buy any but it would add to the handling greatly.

I wish that they'd have worked out the puddle lights. I just picked up a 2022 a few weeks ago and while I love it, the driver's side is out and this is a widespread issue that is temporarily being resolved by bulb changes until Acura releases a TSB, and since they couldn't get this issue resolved even on previous gens I don't have my hopes up. It is a minor thing in the big picture, but if you're buying a premium car, you expect a minimum level of quality that other manufactuers can maintain.
@nathanielcashjr.7324 жыл бұрын
I have brought an A-Spec in red and it seriously turns heads. I agree 100% about the ELS Sound system. I have never heard another car sound system to sound like this one. I have access to a Mercedes S500 and its sound system can't compare. This system rivals most home surround systems. I was in a club a few days ago for food and I listened to their system and couldn't wait to get back into my car.
@ckeledjian4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for paying attention to the sound system. Almost no reviewers do. I'm an audiophile, listen from classical to jazz to rock, and while most systems are decent for pop, they fail miserably with classical and acoustic jazz or rock. I bought my first Acura RDX back in 2010, with reservations, but was blow away by that ELS system. Since then I've been trying to see other brands, but at 45K price point I have found no other with a better system. I'm in my 3rd RDX, 2019 now, and it still is the best balance of technology, performance, style, space, fun to drive and sound system. I agree that the strategy of having a single engine offering was bad. The engine is good and is fun, but it also needs to compete at fuel economy and price, and most people will find it more than satisfactory. But enthusiasts know that Acura could do better. It looks odd in photos and the tail light design is some what cheap looking in photos. While it’s still not as elegant as the Germans with their 3 series and c class and it’s design is still somewhat Honda-ish, it’s actually better looking in person. It has certain angles in the sheet metal that you can only see in person and in natural light. The body is slim and front fenders are low....almost like a civic. I would get it if it was a better deal though.... The 330i is faster... fuel economy is INCREDIBLE.. and it's RWD.. But remember.. all 3 Series are now made in Mexico .. which is fine.. but DO NOT pay the asking price.. You are getting RIPPED... because BMW is saving a TON of money on the Mexico production... so you MUST force the dealer to give it up... Don't back down to them...

How would you compare the interior space (especially headroom) to the Accord? I 6’3” and the Accord is one of few sedans I can comfortably be in but I the TLX is next level, but it appears to be a bit smaller overall.
@GoofieNewfie3 жыл бұрын
smaller, quite a bit. It's smaller than last gen TLX which was based on 9th gen Accord and the 9th gen Accord was larger than the last gen TLX. I owned both. TLX was a bit wider, but back seat was smaller, and now they made it even smaller again even though the car outside is massive.

Love this car. I have a question for you comparing this TLX to the Accord Touring. Do you think the TLX warrants the $8 - $10k price hike over a fully loaded Accord 2.0T Touring? If so, what are the biggest advantages the TLX holds over the Accord? I realize the Accord is a bit faster simply because it weighs several hundred pounds less but I am more interested in the entire package than I am in a half second quicker to 60 mph. Also, would you say that the TLX is noticeably quieter on the road than the Accord is? A quiet, serene cabin is important to me. Overall though, I'm extremely impressed with the TLX and am leaning towards purchasing one in the next year or so but I am holding out until the Type S is released......and reviewed.

Accord design is ugly and wack imo. Never ill own any accord. Once you drive acura and lexus, honda is a downgrade.
@oldtwinsna83473 жыл бұрын
It's not really comparable imo. The accord is much larger interior wise and that kills the sale on a TLX if equal size needs are important, particularly the backspace room on an accord is like a full size car when it's more compact sized on the TLX. Huge difference. If equal size important, as well as serene cabin, you might want to look at the Lexus ES.

Everything about this car is great, but i do wish the fuel economy of this 4-cylinder engine was better than 24 MPG. I get better numbers on my 2008 TSX. You would think they would do something with all that hybrid sports technology they pioneered with the NSX
@alextran81883 жыл бұрын
It's a midsize sedan so it isn't gonna do any better than that unless they make a hybrid option. Its just the way it is
@brettgoldsmith85843 жыл бұрын
@@alextran8188 That's what I mean though! Acura has all this hybrid tech they spent the engineering time to integrate into the NSX, they could probably improve fuel efficiency and performance. (not at the same time, but with different drive modes)

@@AFCompany My speed demon days are so over and I consider a 2 litre turbo 4 is plenty enough! I want comfort and tech. Big hit on this car was the wandering lane follow. I thought this odd considering the family of vehicles it's derived from as I thought all that kind of tech had been proven already. May still go with Polestar but all up in the air with a pandemic still raging.
@AFCompany4 жыл бұрын
@@Rick9482 love Polestar that is a great option also. I’d go for Advance package if you’re not worried about it being too fast. Ya it’s strange I know it would sometimes throw you out of the lane on the past models if it lost the lines but I thought they had fixed all those issues. If you expect it to drive for you it’s probably not the best but as an assist most reviews say it works pretty well.

they tested sh-awd a while back even before the nsx gen 2. it was so good but they didnt put that technologies in the civic type r for some reason. it was shown to get almost 1 sec faster without fully tuning it. its weird how honda tend to spread bits of its tech on certain model of car.

Yea you gotta let that dream die. Premium/luxury brands want nothing to do with a manual trans. But we can be grateful that Honda offers a manual in the civic variants and type R. Plus they had one in the accord until very recently. And I believe the fit/jazz still has one although it’s less powerful.

Hey Tropher, what exactly would make you buy this over an entry-level German like C300, 330i or A4? Or even the 2.0T G70 or Stinger. They're all similar on paper with AWD and a good 2.0T. This car is slower in a straight line (probably due to it's nearly 4000lbs of weight being 200-300lbs more than the competition), but as you've pointed out it's excellent. If you were to make a comparative review, how would you say each one does in this entry-level small (ish) luxury sedan segment?
