If ur in a gym trying to figure out how blocking works as an elite gymnast and beginners coach I also recommend using a spring board or mini tramp. If not in a gym try running and jumping off something with both feet (with both of these jump like your trying to fly like Superman) also you can try running and jumping up onto an elevated surface or sturdy platform (tho It has to be low enough that your confident you can land on it but high enough that you can’t/wont just step up onto it). These are the methods that have always worked when teaching kids how to block for the first time hope it helps someone

What about arms, you didn’t provide much tips regarding them. Should we run with hands up?- (that feels weird) Should we lift them in last moment? (I feel like that screws my momentum) Please do at least some short to answer this ??
