Eddie and Brian have always been tight, but competition is competition. However, having seen Eddie help Brian up to the podium after his injury shows just how much class he truly possesses. A well-deserved win and Thor should have admitted the same. Edit this post from a few weeks ago. While I have always been a fan of The Beast, I think that he has been far from professional. Eddie is a great athlete. He just needs to know when to shut his mouth. I still prefer Eddie as opposed to Thor.

Brian Shaw was crying because he KNEW he had lost that title chance himself. No one lost it for him and he wasn’t cheated - he just wasn’t on top in that competition and he knew it - and that’s a tough pill to swallow after so much hard, painful and dedicated work. Thor was looking for anyone else to blame - and may have a point to an extent. Two different mindsets. One looking inward. One looking outward.

Magnus truly is strongman personified. So impartial and fair. Even when it came to his own countryman he didn’t hold any favouritism. He is right, in strongman you don’t try and question another persons lift. You will always argue your own but never against another competitor. In strongman you don’t wish another competitor to do badly, you just want to do better! Very poor sportsmanship from Thor and lost a lot of respect from everyone. Clearly from Magnus also from what he said.

Watching this really shifts the whole 'Thor Vs Eddie' hype that 2017 was built around, because it was never 'Thor Vs Eddie' it was 'Eddie Vs Brian' at the end of the day. Thor made it about himself with his whole 'i was robbed I deserve this ' routine which really diminished both Brian and Eddie's performance, making the real rivalry a sideshow to him being petty basically

And not only that, but you see when the top 3 took their spots on the pedestals, Eddie actually assisted an injured Shaw up onto the 3rd place ramp. Thor didn't bother to even look in that direction, and Eddie was the first one to reach out a hand to Thor afterward. You could tell Thor's mind was already thinking about calling foul, even though the video evidence clearly points to him doing several poor reps. I know he's the tallest competitor, so it's much more difficult for him to do pressing movements, but Brian didn't complain and he's almost as tall as Thor.

Lmao that's rich considering Eddie has actively diminished Thor's achievements over and over and over again with multiple videos over the last couple of years. Thor's 501kg is being diminished by Eddie but Tom Stoltman's atlas stone or Biby's Axle press aren't even tho they happened under the exact same circumstances. Also, you really REALLY need to have your head up your ass, or Eddie's, take a pick, to not realize the blatent cheating Eddie made use of in WSM2017. Ever since Pre 1970s, the WSM events have always been 3 moving and 3 static events. Everyone and their dog knew that Eddie excels in static events and is mediocre at best at moving events. Why did WSM 2017 suddenly have 4 moving events and 2 static events when that hasn't happened for more than 5 decades? Interestingly enough, it's back to 3 moving and 3 static events again in 2018 - 2021.

Winning WSM is an enormous achievement, but I feel like winning it once is not really that impressive these days. And that's not to disrespect anyone(!!!!), but throughout the years there are many that have won the title once, but when people talk about the GOATs of the sports, they always talk about those who won multiple times. In a sense I feel like Eddie has blown it out of proportion and in general that year (2017) would've been just "another year" if the whole issue between Eddie and Thor didn't happen. Almost no one remembers or cares about past victories of people who won the competition once. Yes, it's always something the winners will be proud of and happy about, but none of those guys are considered the GOATs of the sport and with time will be forgotten. (as sad as it is to say) I feel like the only reason people are talking so much about 2017 is just because of what happened - if none of it would've happened, it would've been "just another year".

He actually made it to podium 8 times, 8 years in a row, with of course 2018 being his win. On the other hand, Eddie has gotten podium only twice in his career with of course 2017 being his win. And in Thor's case in all of those podiums he lost to either Big Z or Brian, 2017 to Eddie and 2019 to Martins (regardless of whether he was 2nd or 3rd tbh). The interviews with Magnus and Kaz are what the world needed to hear to get off of that Thor-train. They're both spectacular athletes, no matter who won in what year. The difference is that one of them can show respect for the other without receiving reciprocation. When the elite like Brian, Magnus and Kaz are all showing respect to you, you know you've made it. Bravo, Ed.

Other than the obvious takeaway from this film. My other big takeaway is what a lovely person Caz is. I kind of new from the all the times we see him on camera anyway. But this film showed him as such a lovely man. Clearly just has a prolific love and respect of the sport and the competitors, regardless of who they are. Each feet of strength or round win to him, is a right of passage in its own right. Really enjoyed watching this. I think we need more well produced “behind the scenes” documentaries on WSM…

@dragon81heart
@dragon81heart 2 жыл бұрын
@@adrianpap1374 excuses excuses and more excuses... lol That’s all you Eddie haters have, lame ass excuses Lets discuss Even if they added a chain pull or raised the stone platforms to give Thor an extra advantage he still would not have won. Just as Big Loz had clearly explained, it was the squat that made the difference and cost Thor the chance at the title, not the Viking press. Thor simply did not do enough reps on the squat, and as a result of his performance in the squat he put himself in a deficit that he was unable to come back from. Also, since you brought, it up even if Thor would have gotten the precious extra point on the Viking Press it would not have changed the outcome. Eddie clearly had enough left in the tank to do another rep or two to still get the win in that event. Sorry but that one point wouldn’t have made any difference in the finishing order Same goes for the Atlas stones and the height of their platforms. As was literally shown on part one of this video series Eddie was nearly as fast as Thor on a higher set of Atlas stones just a few months prior to WSM 2017, so obviously Eddie more than had the ability to do the stones faster and get even more of a lead by finishing higher than 4th place on them if he had to. But he didn’t have to. There was no need to rack up any more points than he needed to secure the win. And like most professional strongman, he only exerted as much energy to win than required. So yeah, sorry to burst your bubble but none of what you claim would have made any difference whatsoever. Eddie still would have won. Got any other shady excuses you like to try?

Man this mini-series is such a smart strategic move. Re-contextualizing for everyone why this fight is so personal for Eddie in the first place. Showing the world, without a shadow of a doubt, why theres bad blood, how he was the one who was the victim of a great injustice and, as a result, why he is the one who is far more emotionally invested in the fight because this fight is, for him, getting justice for the wrong that was committed against him by Thor: the attempted invalidation of Eddie's proudest athletic accomplishment. And that's why Eddie will win this fight, because he has a real reason to fight. Thor doesn't. The narrative for people who know the history has always been clear, and now the people that didn't know can see for themselves. Brilliant. I've never been more excited for a fight in my life, good luck Eddie!

Brian Shaw is such an incredible competitor. He won the title FOUR TIMES before this and you can tell this one meant as much or more than any of the others.

It all started when I watched Eddie go into the uks rudest restaurant.I had no clue that he is a warrior.I liked him as a person , but now I'm stunned.I will think of Eddie Hall any time I feel tired and broken from work.A true Viking Warrior !!

Thor shouldn’t have given so many excuses but I understand and respect him for that. None can make everything right and there is no need to be agressive to someone without relating on the problems it has. I appreciate both Thor and Eddie and wish you guys all the best and luck! I hope you get together again very soon and apologize eachother for your faults 👍 That’s what live is about. Showing love/compassion/trust to the people you like. Everyone has to get through some very hard things. Hope you understand what I mean @Eddie 🤝

he would've won it even if he didn't lift up the last one but it's nice that he just did it for the sake of it to show whats up!

When Bill came by to congratulate Eddie and welcome to the "club", I felt really sad when Eddie replied that he was the "only one to congratulate him". I know there is a lot of competition, but I just wish the rest of the field came by to congratulate Eddie. Either way, there is no doubt who the strongest man on the planet was in 2017. And when you see him standing between the 2 towering monsters flanking him on the podium, you realize just how big a heart he has as an athlete. Well deserved!

@@tylereaglesham9290 when you have the second place guy being a sore loser claiming the whole event was corrupted against him …….. even went as far as to say they picked the exercises for Eddie. Just man up, if you get second be proud of second and go for first next one.

Man I truly respect every single one of them. The amount of dedication and discipline you need to have to even compete at wsm is outrageous. But at the same time Brian and Eddie stayed humble, polite and always respectful and that is what makes a Champion.

Sir EDWARD HALL, please don't let the anger consume you! Focus! Focus on the techniques and win the mental game. Let that big crybaby get consumed with emotions. Big love WSM ❤️
