The 4 cylinder models don’t come with a factory hitch because it’s not intended to be used for towing. The V6 has almost double the available HP. Reasons to get the I-4 vs the v6 are 1) lower cost 2) slightly better fuel economy 3) reliability.
@TheUnrestricted3 жыл бұрын
Yeah true about the tow hitch but I would have to disagree with fuel economy and reliability. From my experience I have owned both the 4 and the 6 and the 4 struggles to accelerate when needed; free way, passing people, up hills and this results in the Gas mileage being basally the same. For reliability it the v6 doesn’t struggle and this could result in it being more reliable down the line. Either way both are the same truck and the best truck by far

Just note that a 1 mile test will not give any kind of meaningful fuel mileage. It just gave you the amount of fuel needed to initially move the vehicle. According to Toyota the 4cylinder gets 1 to 2 mpg better gas mileage when compared to the same trim level. Else I liked your video.

I have a 2nd gen tacoma 4x4 2.7l and i get 21 to 22 mpg, calculated exactly by an app I use. Point is, i drive mostly highway, but its a highway in northeast pa that is one of the steepest grades from sea level to 1900 ft and its 40 miles of climing hills and i drive 75 to 80 mph each way (thats not an exaggeration, the post limit is 65) and my rpms are steady as 2200 to 2500 going 75 to 80, occasionally if i try to maintain 75 up some of the steeper hills it will get into a gear where the rpms will spike to 3000 to 3200 never higher than that. I also change my oil every 4500 to 5000k miles (idc if its excessive as its the most important thing to me) my truck has 145k miles. Ive done all the maintenance myself. Recently to include swapping the old 140k miles suspension for a 3rd gen trd offroad suspension with only 5k miles for 200 bucks, that included front struts, rear shocks, ucas, and rear leaf springs n i bought new sway bar links cause they were 30 bucks a piece why not while im taking em off and it rides amazing compared to what it was. Also lifted the rear about 2 inches n the front an inch, so it has a very stock 3rd gen look to it n ride quality its like ur in a 3rd gen, n my gf has a 2020 sx so i know what a stock 3rd gen drives like lol, im telling ya its amazing esp for 200 bucks. Ive also changed every fluid when i bought it at 110k miles ive kept up with this, n just recently 145k did the difs n tranfer case and a drain and fill for trans to keep it fresh im going to continue that trend every other oil change, prob worthless but whatever. Its been in north east pa for almost 10 years and its in great shape for a vehicle up here. Toyota did a great job on this frame

I got a 2021. V6 tacoma. I get avg 23 mpg. Wife’s heavy foot gets 21. 93 octane only use. I live it so far.
@oldscratch35353 жыл бұрын
Why are you wasting money on 93 octane when the truck is designed and tuned to run on 87 octane? You get no benefits, you're just paying more.

That race was so off. Didn’t use sport mode or the other drive mode of the transmission. I actually beat a hemi in my 4cyl.
@TheUnrestricted3 жыл бұрын
That’s great, but honestly no matter what mode the v6 is way faster
@fishingwithcurly3 жыл бұрын
@@TheUnrestricted I’m just saying, if you are going to race the two, why not put them both into sport and ect pwr modes? It changes performance by a lot, not saying the 4cyl would win just off of that but it just shows more of what both trucks would actually do if someone was in that situation. Other than that I liked the video.

I think since the truck is a 4 door truck. It should have a 6 cylinder engine. And a manual transmission or an automatic transmission depending on your preference instead of Toyota doing the decision for you. Because I don't want an automatic transmission. I want to decide what gear I'm in. The shifting of the gears is my problem. I don't mind.

I would get a second gen V6, but the new 3.5L doesn't do it for me. I'm keeping an eye out for a 2-3rd gen I4 Manual or V6, or a 3rd gen i4.
