I’m a 73 year old grandma. I’ve been watching this train wreck (Harry and Meghan since before the wedding. Some of us saw what she was about from the beginning. And here we are waiting for the rest of the world to wake up. I cried my way through the whole Markle interview. My heart breaks for them. They are victims of a horrible woman who wouldn’t know the truth if it bit her on her behind. Thanks for your analysis of this mess. I love your channel. 😍

Meghan puts on a good act when she looks sad and says she ”lost” her father. She didn’t “lose” him, she dumped him, for having dealings with the media for money. Excuse me, but isn’t that what she has done all her life and still does? If she was truly 😢sad, one two-minute phone call to her father would fix it and make a sick, old, man happy. Thomas Markle breaks my heart! I completely understand Samantha and Thomas Jrs anger! I went through this with my sister against my mom & dad, it destroyed them, it killed my mother ultimately. We are human, we all make mistakes, and we are all FORGIVABLE! My admiration for Thomas Jr and Samantha grew because of the documentary, the Thomas Markles are an amazingly all American beautiful family! Harry has no idea the treasure he & Megan threw away! I sincerely appreciate your tears, thank you for them, it proves you have a beautiful heart!

It was heartbreaking to watch. As someone whose dad was an invalid for 8 years from a stroke and eventually dying, it was hard to watch. My father wasn't a perfect man and he used to get so depressed by his body's limitations. It was sad to watch him wither away. No one deserves to suffer both physically and emotionally the way Thomas is💔They're cold as ice in my opinion!

I feel for you. I also looked after my Dad for the last ten years of his life as his sole carer until the last six months because he suffered from Alzheimers and needed round the clock care. Despite it all I never stopped loving him, even when he didn't recognise me - the worst gut punch families of Alzheimer's sufferers will ever experience imo I never lost the compulsion to care for him. Her coldness to her father repulses me, I just want to charge in and take care of Thomas the way I cared for my Dad and that's just after seeing him in a clip struggling to communicate. I can't watch the entire interview, I would find it too upsetting/enraging. I hope that if the interview conveys a little of her coldness and cruelty it will wake a few more people up to who she really is.

I agree with Shauna & the sister Samantha: Meghan's insecurity is deep and perhaps she is incapable of such heroic love. Her aggressiveness seems to demonstrate her lack of sincere compassion. I actually pity her more than revile her. Sadly there are many more people who do not have your capacity to love, to walk such a caregiver's journey which is a painful privilege. As for Harry's derision of Thomas Markle, let's not forget that Harry is legendary for criticizing people's for their 'looks'. He made fun of a former headmistress who was challenged with scoliosis; he lasered in on William's baldness - so there is nothing too personal or embarrassing to be off limits to the Prince of the Todger. Shameful that he'd hone in on Thomas Markle so cruelly. Whatever flaws the Markles have, they still are family who deserve a modicum of recognition and respect in my opinion.

I watched that interview and openly wept. I had a very mild stroke 4 months ago. It was very mild, and im fine now. My daughter drove 8 hours to come home and be by my side. I can't imagine the disconnect and daughter would have to be this heartless. I was heartbroken by Thomas practically begging his child to find empathy . Megaliar told tales of being the lonely bookworm in school, but was home coming queen? It doesn't match up. Homecoming queen is nothing but a popularity contest!

I watched it. There was no bombshells and no drama. I have to admit, I didn't like them including M since the pre-wedding debarcle. But for the last few months, I don't dislike them nor do I like them. But yesterday after watching the programme, I quite like them. Sam was quite objective and spot on in her comments. What tugged the heart was both the Thomases. Very simple ordinary people. And that is the crux of the problem for M. I agree with Samantha's observations on this.

And on top of that, M tried the same trick with her correspondence with KC3. She couldn't forgive her father for making money out of her but she's been doing the same thing to the RF at a much grander scale. Samantha has a right to clear the misconceptions of people regarding not only her father but herself and so does Thomas Jr. If M can hire PR teams to reinvent herself over and over in order to correct public's perception of herself, then there shouldn't be anything wrong with Samantha or Thomas Jr attempting to clear the public's misconception of the Markle family.

That was just a fatuous tabloid fantasy. Diana was a very troubled young woman who had little in common with her husband. During her marriage she had a number of lovers. I cried also. My daughter, now 30 yoa, alienated me and the rest of her family 8 years ago. I have a 6 yo granddaughter who doesn't know me. She made up horrible stories about her youth. @ Marie Bosanko - I think most ordinary people thought this but the media seemed to overlook it. Everyone I know was completely shocked during the engagement interview when Harry said he’d never met her father. To actually ask for his daughters hand over the telephone struck us all as particularly odd. It’s not the done thing these days as much as it was in the past but for a Prince of the realm to not do it in person was very strange. Apparently the RF thought so too and also consistently told H&M that they were happy to send an envoy to Mexico to speak with TM and go through all the wedding details as they knew he’d be unsure and possibly overwhelmed by the event. It appears that H&M refused the offer and kept telling the RF that they would deal with TM. Of course they didn’t and poor TM never even received one of the official invitations although Doria did.

I think Harry saw Meghan as a way to improve his own image, he saw her as a beautiful American star who outshone his brother's wife. (He was blind). Apparently, he had been jealous a long time that William had a beautiful wife and he was 'a worthless ginger.' He thought he was raised to stardom💫 by Meghan, partly because she told him so. He wasn't about to put himself in a position of humility at that point. He saw himself as Superior to everyone, including and especially her father. He was done being humble and respectful. It kind of shows how important it's been to Harry to have an image of being more powerful than other people. He wanted to be King apparently. He thought Meghan would intimidate the RF and stand up for him, and finally he would be more important than William. His jealousy ruined him.

I have always failed to see what the big deal was about the photos Thomas had done (especially after I saw that they were done by Backgrid). Meghan was(is) notorious for her ‘pap’ photo calls. This was just Meghan’s excuse. If it weren’t the photos, it would have been something else. She has done much more to embarrass the family than Thomas or Samantha and Tom Jr. Being a parent is hard work. There are really no ‘instruction manuals’. I’m a 70+ year old mother. One of the very worst actions a child can display is INGRATITUDE!!

While I’ve always believed that Markle didn’t want her family at the wedding, because they didn’t fit that warped view of perfection she was so desperately seeking…you are SO right that Harry probably played a HUGE part in that. The way Harry cruelly describes other people’s physical appearance is so awful, so grade-school…that I think you are 100% correct that he didn’t really want her family at the wedding, either. Because it didn’t fit HIS view of perfection that he feels he’s entitled. I still say Meghan was most likely the main ghost writer for “Spare”…but I do believe all the descriptives that were given, in regards to the way a person looked, was all Harry.

Hello Shauna, I watched Spotlight last night and found it extremely upsetting on several fronts. To see the state of health of poor Thomas and to hear how proud he still is of Meghan in spite of how appalling her behaviour has been! To see how terribly affected by MS poor (bitter but brave & determined) Samantha has been. How she finds the energy to be so outspoken I’ve got no idea. Certainly she is pretty bitter, that her own life has been such a battle & to have a younger sister effectively win the lottery when she has lost and for her to shun the family who so clearly have great need of her… this is hard to witness. How anyone could just wash their hands of their own close relatives like she has even if they do embarrassing things, no one’s family is perfect! Thomas junior is the only one who seems in reasonable health though possibly that is just an impression gained by contrast with his dad & sister. It did lead me to continue to question how they managed to create Meghan Markle, a person who is so manipulative and cut throat… so then I thought that maybe it’s a false impression and there is more to those Markles than meets the eye… does the Apple fall that far from the tree? 🧐 I really do not know. However it did bring to front of my mind my own sisters behaviour which was horrible and she only saw the light after both our parents died and the crazy competition she had with me, her elder sister no longer had its audience. 😯 she is clearly trying to escape and disown her family who she regards as inferior to her in every way. With her, it’s mainly about appearances. If they were glamorous and groomed in the way she has changed her looks, she would be less horrid but still horrid because then they would be competition. She really is just plain embarrassed of them which I think is a deep reflection of her embarrassment of herself even if she never acknowledges or realizes it-I find her and Henry loathsome.

Samantha has been very affected by Meghan’s lies about her. She lost out financially (hence the reason for legal action), she has been heavily trolled online and been threatened. I don’t think Samantha is jealous but just wants justice for her father and family. I agree, it was heartbreaking to see Samantha so affected by MS, but she is very articulate and has Meghan & Harry fully worked out. Whereas the father and brother are still scratching their heads as to why. Thomas Snr blames himself for Meghan’s personality, but at the end of the day, I think she was born with the bitch inside of her.

Through the years I've gotten the impression that Thomas Sr is quite manipulative. It's awful to say because of his current state, I know, and I'm not saying this to defend M -she's plain awful. Thomas' pride in Meghan reads to me as second hand ego feed. Plus, I maintain that the only dignified (and smart) thing is silence. Turning the institution of the Royal Family into this soap opera is tacky and insensitive. These Markles love attention. From Doria I believe she got the cunning and amoral ambition.

You summed up perfectly how I reacted to the video. Watching Tom Sr. was heartbreaking. And I totally relate to Samantha and Tom junior being mad. My younger sister and I were devoted and cared for my mum before she died. My older sister couldn't be counted on, didn't help...you get the drift. I haven't spoken to my older sister since she phoned 3 years ago to see when the estate was going to be settled and she could get her money.

Frankly, I was surprised that Nutmeg didn't have her father walk her down the aisle. Imo I think M wanted to walk down the aisle by herself. I still believe that she didn't want her father there because he had been at her previous wedding to Trevor and took pictures which she had insisted be destroyed after the wedding. Thomas Sr didn't destroy the pics as she wanted which is understandable. However, he knew that she had told Trevor the same thing she told Harry ... that she just wanted a family (meaning her new in-laws) that she had never had before. She knew that her father had been there for her every step of the way. Her narrative about being the daughter of a single, black mother who worked her way through college by herself and achieved everything on her own and was an "American success story" wouldn't have played out as well initially with the press, etc.

It was hard to watch you get teary over Thomas Markle being disowned by his daughter. I appreciate that you showed it, and my heart went out to you. Made me wish I could hug you for support. Being disowned by your child is probably one of the most painful circumstances to bear. They aren't dead, but they are. There's no grave to mourn over or visit. They are just .... gone. She is very cruel to treat her father so. I'm glad he has two other children who will support him and love him through it, though it won't heal what she has done. You can't un-ring a bell. Even if she ever goes back to him, offers her forgiveness and tries to mend the damage she has wrought, the ringing bell will still reverberate through their relationship forever.

The fact that Harry never took the time to meet her father in person, especially to ask for her hand, says it all. I believe Meghan tried diminishing her fathers role in her life from the moment she met Harry. Harry himself, said the Royal Family would be the family she never had. I believe Meghan gave him the impression she was a self made woman who was raised by a single mother. Thomas Markle was heartbreaking in this interview. I can’t imagine anyone could see their father in that state, and not immediately rush to see him.

I've watched the Markles interviewed on a number of occasions and I have always thought they were misrepresented by the press. They are intelligent and articulate and they are all hurting, that is obvious. I thought Harry's comments about Thomas were nasty and I remembered that he called Thomas in Hospital and was rude to him then - not even having met him! So you may be right thinking Harry coloured Meghan's opinion about her father...I have a great deal of sympathy for Thomas...

Yes, that bit at the end hit everybody I think. Even on TV you can tell if someone is sincere or not. I am blessed (or cursed) with always knowing when someone is lying and I can tell you Mr Markle feels as guilty as hell, he did a press interview when H&M told him not to and I think that’s the thing that’s eating him up. They’ve got him thinking that it’s all his fault because that was what Meghan said in their last ever text or conversation. Then she went and topped it off with that letter. That’s the narcissists gift, to make everyone else feel guilty. But my goodness, so what - he got himself on the telly and Meghan’s nose was put out of joint for 5 minutes and that’s enough reason to never call and say “love you Dad” after he suffered a heart attack and a stroke? Not one word? That man is going to his grave with a guilty conscience. And I don’t believe King Charles feels any less. H&M are leaving a wake of destruction behind them, but still it will never enough. I know that same sick feeling as we have a Meghan in our family. Believe it or not they would actually be forgiven if the two of them just snapped out of it. All they need to do is say sorry (if they really changed their hearts) and they would be forgiven. People who have been hurt by H&M’s type just want to wash the evil away, get their kids back, and never think of it again. I’m sorry for you Mr Markle and I’m very sorry to say you can’t fix it, because it’s your daughter who needs the fixing 🤧💔

I am glad that you kept your emotions in the video, I don't feel so stupid now that someone else cried at the same parts I did. The first lump in my throat was when Thomas and Thomas jnr arrive in Florida and then at Samantha's house and father and daughter hug for the first time in so long...My tears crept in before I knew it. My heart really breaks for the Markle family, Meghan threw them to the wolves with not a care and Harry made sure the wolves ate them up. I truly wish though that Thomas would realise that no matter what happened with the "staged" pictures he was no longer part of Meghans "life" long before the pictures came out. I mean what "Man" doesn't meet with the father that brought up his wife and put her through the best of everything....Oh that would be Harry.
