This artist is so great, a beautiful artwork, teaching step by step. Same question, did you, the artist use a fixative spray or a special varnish, in the middle of the drawing process, and a final varnish to avoid smearing ?

seems like the drawing got a lot brighter between 12:04 to 12:14, what happened in those 10 seconds? Is it just the lighting on the finished piece? or was something done to brighten it up?

I was curious if you have tried clear gesso on your black paper I think it would really make the colors stand out.
