Okay.. after approximately 1532 times listening.. I love this whole entire thing. Just from beginning to end. You guys are just so good at setting a scene for your music videos. I love so much that iconic bassline to start off with of course, which.. I knew would sound great, but I didn't realize just how much Geoff's voice would be just absolutely perfect for it. Eli and Cesar singing a bit more in their lower range as well, I really cannot sing their praises enough. They sound incredible and they blend so well in this, also together with Anthony, which I truly could not have imagined to fit so well with a song like this. Just so powerful, to combine that with Layne's ... I don't even know what to call it. Truly sounds that are out of this world bringing this to a whole other level. This arrangement is so interesting to me. I thought I knew this song, but this is like unearthing every other possible perspective. Crossing over into club or edm music, rock and pop music with the riffs and runs. What a masterful combination. I really like the choices that were made here. I can hardly believe it is the same song, when it clearly is, there's just so much awesome-ness in there. When you think you know a song, and you know what's coming, but there's actually no way to really know what is coming. Spectacular, really. Always a surprise with these guys. Not just the big picture, but also in the details. It remains a familiar song with so many new elements. Visually this video is very sleek, with such a great use of mostly natural lighting. Costumes are perfectly minimal but look SO good on all of you and the 'dirt' make-up is there to just finish it off with just the right amount. You nailed the perfect amount of menacing and threatening with the presence of weapons, though I would have loved to see you smash in some windows too, though, let's not condone violence or vandalism. *chef's kiss* What a masterpiece, fellas! What a great thing that I get to support something like this. Please keep doing songs you say you have no business singing. You are singers, you have business singing songs, do not let anyone else tell you any different, because holy cr*p you guys are just SO good. AND you look freaking bad-ass too.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate 1:39?? 😱 And, the way the song progresses, not changing tempo but *feeling* like it's changing tempo, as we start with no percussion but a pulse on 2 and 4, to a stronger feel with percussion on 2 and 4, leading to percussion on every downbeat...this makes my heart positively RACE by the end! This arrangement is incredible. That wall of sound near the end just blows me back in my seat. You craft these arrangements MASTERFULLY, Geoff. I love how you guys are always pushing the envelope with your work, whether it be percussion sounds I've never heard Layne make before, high screaming rock notes that Eli does seemingly effortlessly, Cesar's smooth delivery, Anthony's riffing...I'm continually in awe of you guys.

I've been thinking about this, too. And I think the "chapters" of the narrative actually come in a different order than when each of these videos were made. (If we include "Enemy" in this tetralogy): 1) "Enemy" comes first, when the political rifts leading to the collapse are just starting to form, and Society is splintering. 2) Then this song, when the narrator is still full of bravado, and certain they'll win. 3) Then "Dream On," after the war has dragged on, and there's a recognition of mortality, of all the lost years, and lost innocence ~but not lost hope~ 4) And finally, "Warriors" is the post-post-apocalypse warriors are singing about how they rebuilt civilization (we built this town from the dust), and reminding the youth of the next generation that there will be a time when they, themselves, will be tested.

I don't know how you guys manage to top yourself every time you put out a new video but you just do, it blows my mind. This is such an amazing cover of this song, you guys literally blew my expectations of away. I love the EDM kind of feeling of this song, I was not expecting that at all but it fits this song so well. I loved hearing Cesar and Eli's lower range in this, they just sound so good in this😍And omgg Anthony killed it in this one, his runs are just so smooth. The first video I saw of them was their Moana medley; this was the second. I felt like Smalls in The Sandlot reading the comments and realizing Eli was in both - "oh my god, you mean that's the same guy??!!" 😂😂

You guys are absolutely otherworldly! I have mental health issues, chronic pain disorders, and a sleep disorder that make even getting up each day, let alone feeling like I can actually function extremely difficult. I am in a near-constant state of pain and exhaustion. It's not all bad, though. Recently, through adopting a practice of putting a piece of paper with something I am thankful for written on it into a "gratitude jar," I am learning to find the beauty in life in spite of my struggles. Today, your music is my daily gratitude. And with some dietary changes, some of my physical symptoms have improved a bit as well. Along with my medical treatments, I have a playlist of songs to help me get out of bed and get me motivated for the day to try and combat these issues. Every one of your more upbeat songs is on my "Uplift" playlist. Probably 8 days out of 10 that I start my day with that playlist, I manage to get more done and just FEEL BETTER than any day I start without it. You guys are literally improving my life with your music! All musicians do so for someone. I'm not exaggerating. Music is so much more than entertainment. It is an incredible gift with proven benefits to mental and physical health. It reduces depression/anxiety/stress, alleviates physical pain, reduces fatigue, lowers blood pressure, and more! I'd imagine you guys probably know much of that. Thank you so much for gifting all of us with your incredible talent and passion. It's so much bigger than you might realize, even if you know what studies have shown in a logical sense. I hope that you see this, as I want you all to know how much your music means to me, and I'm sure to many others as well.

As I reviewed all the works you’ve done for 2023, this is my favorite one. The arrangement is just mind boggling!! So creative and refreshing!! Got here from a friend’s recommendation, and as a longtime fan of the original White Stripes version as well as the remix by The Glitch Mob, this really impressed me with how naturally it stands on its own. A small detail, and I'll be surprised if this is read by anyone, but the cuts to Eli during Geoff's bass notes gives the impression that Geoff's bass echoes thru the whole building and I love that.
