Great video. This series is really helpful to me as I am currently starting to refurb an XJ HP Dana30 to swap into my TJ.

That’s awesome, you will surely enjoy the high pinion over the low. Thanks for watching 🍻

Great video. I followed along your whole series on the build. I also built a Dana 30 with all the same mods, but I’m also doing a WJ knuckle swap at the same time.

Awesome, I might get some wj knuckles just for the bigger brakes. Great mod. WJs all over the junk yard too. 🙏🍻

@@ATEMOFFROAD the brakes and true crossover steering were the primary reason I did it. As a bonus, the 7075 aluminum drag link and tie rod look pretty sweet too. 😎

Awesome video Dustin! Your front diff came out really nice . I have the same Metalcloak front trackbar but haven't installed it yet. I have a Artec trackbar mount that I need to have welded in first . I watched your driveshaft install video earlier and it was quite enjoyable. Looking forward to your next video Dustin. Take care.

Great video!! Do you think this swap is overkill for a daily driver tj, im gonna be running core4x4 short adjustable arms with Johnny joints on both sides, 3 inch lift teraflex coils on 33s ko2s. I have an 8.8 rear installed already and im not sure if i should build the d30 or do this hp d30. My other options are to get a d44 off a rubi. Build is a daily driver some highway time and trails.

Is that a lube locker gasket?

What wheels are you using on the tan XJ and this TJ? Lookin for dimensions of that and the tires too!!
@ATEMOFFROAD5 ай бұрын
The tan xj has 15” x8 eagle alloys with 3.5” back space on 32s, the Tj has 17x10 x4” BS vision wheel 398 Manx beadlocks on 35s 🍻

I forgot to ask before, how did pushing the axle forward an inch work out? Did it cause any inteference, etc?
@ATEMOFFROAD4 ай бұрын
So far it’s working out well on road. I wouldn’t go any further than 17 on the lowers as the drag and track bar links can start to interfere during turning and articulation. More to come on this during our shakedown on the trail. 🍻🍻
@eversleyowl4 ай бұрын
@@ATEMOFFROAD I guess the potential advantage I have there is that I am doing a WJ knuckle swap on the axle. I will then fabricate my own steering set up, so I can make some allowance for any forward movement of the axle. Looking forward to the next video.
@ATEMOFFROAD4 ай бұрын
@@eversleyowl stock arms are 15” so the more you can push out the better, beyond 17 you’ll want to consider relocating axle side sway bar tabs and lastly shocks. Custom length driveshaft too? At the moment biggest fear is front drive shaft separating at the slip joint. This is why I’ll be using anti rock sway bars up front to slightly limit droop.

The problem with RC BJs is that they wont sell you just one or two if 1 or 2 fail. Same thing with TREs.
@ATEMOFFROAD5 ай бұрын
@@1unkn0wn yeah that’s true, but at 129.00 for a set is pretty good, that reminds me I’ll need to order another set as spares.. If you’re on the fence about them no worries, I’ll be testing these out on some harder trails, so we shall see if the reviews are right on them. 🍻🍻

Basically, The axles really needed an overhaul and new gears for the larger tires. Slowly but surely getting tj ready for harder trails and towing my trailer. 🍻🍻
