Great interview. I found this way of eating four and a half years ago. It’s incredible how something that seemed so limited lead to this amazing abundance and fun, exciting way of eating. And it is a common theme with everyone that really gets into it. It took a bit of time for me to relearn my cooking skills, but now it all clicks and I love experimenting with new recipes. It makes me so happy to hear this couple’s life saving results and see the positive changes in all aspects of their lives. I’m in my sixties and feel better than when I was forty.

So so so fantastic! You know, with that "why aren't we being told"... it really is a lot to do with the USDA. I have found recently that Canada's new guidelines have been an EXCELLENT conversation point with some people. Now we can say, look, it's not a conspiracy, but it is the structure of our society that the same agency in charge of promoting meat, dairy and eggs are responsible for issuing dietary guidelines for health, and the nutritional science doesn't support consuming those products. Yet, these guidelines inform not only institutional menu requirements, but also what nutritional and dietetic education looks like from primary school to post-graduate degrees. But, now we can see the contrast with Canada, another major developed nation that has barred industry input in the formulation of dietary guidelines - including Canada's large lentil industry! - and has issued new guidelines with no dairy requirement whatsoever.

@Geordie5043 жыл бұрын
@@Chris-kr7gg Almost all Americans get way too much protein and not nearly enough fiber. Protein at the levels in the Standard American Diet (SAD) are way too high and damaging to organs. People in the Blue Zone are not all vegans, but they know that if you eat the way most people do all the time you get sick. Some say moderation, others say special occasions are ok if those occasions are not every single day. We have fucked up because we eat poorly way too often, damn near every day several times a day. No wonder so many people are sick and dying prematurely. I subscribe to the thinking of the group described in the Blue Zone and have lost 170 pounds, kept it off, and occasionally - meaning special events, and within reason or in moderation - enjoy a slice of pizza or a slice of cake. It should not be every day or month. I don't mind having a drink twice a year to celebrate something so I think once or twice a year a piece of cake will not damage me either. And as for meat it should be treated like a condiment, not the main part of the meal if someone wants to partake of it. It, too, should not be consumed every day in my opinion and especially not at every meal. Even people that practice the 80/20 rule are seeing great results. So it is not all about veganism or exclusively whole foods plant based.

@@angelgrier5283 thank you for your reply, I am desperate to know as I am trying to seek reversal of plaque build up. I come across so many conflicting views and information that the sugar from plant based and other foods fruits, will cause problems, I am well aware that is mainly due to people's inability to absorb insulin correctly, also other factors as such that we need K2 to remove plaque, also if the calcified plaque is removed it can cause clots etc, also that good fats are important the body needs this and other things I'm being told. I do not know what to believe I am currently reading a book written by a genius in the early 20 century who was far advanced for his time his name Arnold Ehret. I'm just desperate to get better and healthier. So I look forward to your results and wait in anticipation.

@@Chris-kr7gg I agree it can be so confusing. One of the main reasons we are convinced about WFPB is because we tried almost everything over the past 20 years and remained on a slippery slope. When we moved to WFPB, our blood results alone were astounding, not to mention our recovery time, lack of chronic joint pain, and Terry’s BP moving down through natural whole food eating. If I am dreaming please do not wake me up 😊. We will share the results as soon as we get them. I would also recommend reading Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease by Dr. Caldwell Esselysten. It's so crazy! And, don't forget - not just "low carb", but specifically high fat that has been used a last-ditch therapeutic intervention for pediatric refractory epilepsy for a hundred years... the medical community has known for this long how damaging and even deadly - and only for shorter term use for a condition that's even worse - this is, it's such a travesty that it's become this main stream fad. @plantbasedlove89203 жыл бұрын
Hi Esther, please review the response I wrote to Pam around some of the strategies we have used in achieving weight loss and maintaining it without deprivation. Also, for your inflammation, there are certain foods that can cause inflammation but it is hard to tell which ones they are. For example, if corn is causing inflammation, how can you tell? What my mother has done in the past, is avoided certain foods for a week or two and then see if that was the issue. I actually used corn as an example because she found this was one of her culprits. Also, tomatoes can sometimes be a trigger, as odd as that is. The only suggestion I can make is to rotate the common foods you eat out for a week or two and see if that helps or if you feel any different. You can find a number of books written by doctors focused on inflammation and WFPB eating as well. I hope this helps!
