One of the most hard, driving songs of Rammstein. There is an amazing version where the developement of the band is shown over the 20 or so years that they performed this song.

Yes this was the Family Values Tour that served as the "Follow the Leader" tour. Yes, this is also pre-treadmil. The mics were insulated with foil and some other heat repellant. Plus I got to see them do this song from less than 10 feet away, it also had a water mister so their faces wouldn't melt off as they sing into the burning mics. They didn't replace them afterwards and still had a couple of songs with backing vocals.

As Wes Borland of the band Limp Bizkit said in the documentary "Rammstein in Amerika" - Their music is heavy, almost sounds militaristic as if a squadron of military musicians came on stage. And all this he said while asche zu asche was playing in the background - it was strong!

Yes, it was the same tour with Korn etc Travis. And yes it pre-dates Flake's treadmill by a lot of years Suzy. I think they only used the flaming mic stands on this song (Ashes to Ashes).

This comes from their very first album Herzeleid (Heartache) when they first started out hence the lighter almost electronica disco sound. They followed up with Sehnsucht with a heavier but still electronic sound from Flake on keyboards, the rest they say is history.

finally!! I definitively recommend checking out other live performances than Paris, It's great and all but honestly there's a lot of other better live performances, specially from Sehnsuch to LIFAD era. Don't get me wrong, they still got it, but you can't deny there was a different energy when they were younger.
