A couple of facts: 1st : this is the first time Metlica played To Live is to Die in it's entirety... prior to that... only part of the song was played during the...And Justice for All tour. 2nd : when Cliff Burton's brother died... Cliff promised his brother that he was going to be the best bassist in the world... and he did it in his own way... R.I.P. Clifford Lee Burton 😓😮😥😣😓😢😭😭😭

Every single section of this song is incredible, it takes you to so many different places and builds and builds to such a powerful place that just grabs you and pulls you in so well. I could listen to the album version every day and never tire of it. A fun fact about this song, Michael Akerfeldt from Opeth cited this song as a huge inspiration for him. It was specifically the clean soft section in the middle where everything drops away but the clean guitar. He said if he had never heard that specific section then Opeth might not even exist today. It's actually not that surprising to me personally, just listen to that section on the studio version with this in mind. It totally sounds like it could be in an Opeth song.
