One land vehicle I'd like to see for the empire would be that landspeeder from Andor, a good counterpart to the seraph speeder and it'd give some fast light armour early on.

Do they hold position as well? Nothing is more frustrating than ordering your tanks or heavy units to a position, and then they spot an enemy, immediately chase after it, and zoom right into the enemy turbolaser towers fire.

I’ve been playing 2.11 ever since it released. Let me tell you this. Holding onto the Kashyyyk sector is so essential for rebel survival. What I did early on was that I built a starfighter fleet in the south near Hoth. Took the sullust sector completely and then broke through Aridus so I could keep my starfighter fleet closer to Kuat and Kashyyyk space. Depending on what difficulty you play on the Hapes should be the first faction besides the empire and black sun you will have to face. I also think shield Generator capital ships are key to having since they are a perfect counter when facing a planet with a hyper velocity cannon. I love that Illum is neutral but be warned you should only take it when you know you can have a fleet over it because I sent stealth units and they almost took it back. Like I said I think the most important thing for the rebels is opening that back door route near Aridus because it’s hard to muster up forces big enough to take Corellia. Start in the south move to the right near Scarif break through Aridus and build a big fleet near Mon Cala to defend.

12:42 rebel AI doesnt need sullust to build them and it still spams them, each fleet I've seen by week 60 has had 6-14 of those quasars and there's nothing I can do but spam lancers and ton falks in response

A great addition for this (or if the Thrawns revenge team since they’ve done this in Clone Wars) would be having the early campaign start with multiple rebel factions that you can recruit, ally together, etc. It would be cool for the rebellion which struggles to get units compared to the empire, to work towards allying with a rebel cell then getting a large surplus of ships or soldiers

That would work if the mod campaign took place before Yavin. But this takes place closer to the start of Empire Strikes Back and that mechanic would not make sense.

@@jakushkadarkstalker6278 I mean the game has K-Wings and hammerhead corvettes. The game def sacrifices a little bit on the lore side if it makes the game more fun. I don’t necessarily think it needs to be a big thing, like rebel cells controlling entire sectors of space. Maybe when you capture Mandalore you get a few platoons of mandos. The same way that you get the Sullustian General when you save him from Eriadu and Naboo Starfighters from Naboo. I think expanding on that could be a fun way to mix up the campaign.

Something I've always found missing in Empire at war is that you can't pause via a button and the fact you can't do anything while paused. If Empire at war gets a sequel I hope that gets changed to so you can pause and unpause via a button and you can do stuff while paused. Hearts of iron 4 has both of these and it makes it much more fair to fight against the ai, as just like you said the AI can do alot in a few seconds that would normally take a player a few minutes

I played a little and in the ground battles the air is still a mess. Now unless you make a command to defend a position the air will charge into the enemy (Even if you send them to alone square of the battle map) and probably being killed if the player not babysits them.

Manufacturer worlds are primarily to make their units cheaper. So like Dreadnaughts and Assault Frigates at Rendili, or X-Wings, E-Wings, and Snowspeeders at Fresia, etc.. The agi worlds have a bigger population they provide you, so you can build more units.

Honestly one of the best changes in my opinion is throwing so many neutral factions in the core and tweaking the Imperial Hero spawns. Vader needs to build up a fleet to punch through like 5 planets in order to get to Kuat and Veers to get the ball rolling, all while Ozzle is off in the Eradu cluster wasting time with his -10% buff you can't just remove by paring him with vader (though you can put Jerjerod's shuttle in his fleet I guess, but still) Getting out to the Maw for that mission is also more difficult now, though sadly it seems the Imperial scripted Endoor stuff isn't fully working on the new map, at least for me, as it just asked for the credit stack instead of the searching mission and fleet stack build, but maybe I sequence broke it by accident somehow. I also like the changes they made to the minor factions on the ground. The Hapes at least had full bases that made wiping them out after they poked me a bit harder. That said though, I feel imperial ground forces could use a few tweeks still. All of my armies are just: 1 General, 5x shock troopers, 1x ATAT, fill the rest with Artillery and that wins 90% of battles with 0 losses. TBH I think it could be as easy a fix of dropping shock troopers don't to two squads per unit instead of three. Pluss it'd put them in line with the two squad Anti-Armor Shock trooper unit

Since no one else is mentioning it, there are currently many game breaking bugs in the new AOTR mod. Attacking planets with certain characters crashes the game and corrupts ALL your save files. Certain planets cause issues with storyline missions (such as Imperial probing mission of hoth), and there is currently an autoresolve bug. I wasted 20hrs on a save just combating these bugs Yes I have submitted bug reports thrice over.

I’ve started a campaign as the empire and the only grip I have with this update is the pop cap. The empire comes with maxed out pop cap and so you can’t design your own fleet. Other than that it’s so much fun

I would love to see something like a boarding party mechanic. Where you can attack a capital ship in a space battle and it spawns a small ground style assault with a really short time limited objective. not sure what risk or reward that would be. or if it's easily exploitable with ground heros.

I love all the changes they've done so far! my only complaint really is the grand campaign map runs horribly for me (and quite a few others from what i've seen in the discord) to the point it becomes tiring just waiting to get anywhere or do anything of note. I know the devs said there isn't much they can do but hopefully petroglyph puts out another patch allowing you to use more cores and PC power to run the game. Small minor note as someone who loves static defense and using turrets, it makes me very sad once you build a turret you can't rebuild it once destroyed or sell it either losing a lot of flexibility.

Yes, Lothal is one of the new planets on this map. It's located in the east on the galaxy map. There are many new planets from the shows like The Mandelorian with Navarro or the Rouge One film with Scarif. Tons of new plants where added to the new map.

There doesn't seem to be THAT much new content in this update, just the new map and everything attendant to that such as more independent forces on planets, the hyperspace route mechanics, the actual new ground or space maps, and such. When I say "new content" I'm referring to new factions, heroes, units, missions, faction mechanics, etc. For example the last update was huge for the Black Sun with tons of new stuff for them. I'm a bit worried that the game may not actually have enough content and progression to support such a large map with an elongated play-time. With the NR-era currently a bit half-baked the core GCW-era may not have enough substance to warrant conquering almost 200 planets. Especially for the Rebellion, by the time you capture even fifty or so you'll have probably maxxed out your technology and be stagnating with the kinds of fleets you build, I've noticed this become an issue even on the previous maps towards the end.

Having real fun with the update - but it seems like the Zhar and Endor missions are broken. When I conquer Naboo as the rebels (or when I conquer Eriadu and Naboo flips to me) he never spawns so I can't unlock the new republic features or do the battle of Endor which is really cool IMO.

I don't think that my save game is corrupted. Every time i load in I can play a couple seconds. It starts to stutter and than crashes. There goes a lot of stuff on my GC Map. Fleets are moving transporters etc. Maybe it's because my PC can't handle it specially my CPU (I7 8700k 3.2 Gh'z) this mod anymore? I don't know. Maybe I will restart or see if I have some older ssve files.

Ok, found the problem with Empire at War crushing at launch for no reason. It all worked fine yesterday and now I wanted to play more but it crashes down all the time. Antivirus, reinstalling, verifying files, nothing fixes it. crash logs showed problem with 3 command lines: LANGUAGE=ENGLISH NOARTPROCESS IGNOREASSERTS If anyone knows how to workaround that or knows anything about this error pls let me know. The google is not showing the problems I've encountered.
