To my knowledge Matthew was only contracted for 3 films. Not that they are making 3 films. A similar situation happened back during Scream 2 where he was contracted to appear in the film but never did. Just because he's contracted for multiple films doesn't mean they will happen. Aside from that Abby is Mike's sister not daughter. So good video but it probably should have stayed in the oven a bit longer.

I know I'm looking back on this from the future (after the movie has been released), and though I like the energy of this theory, I think I would have said the same thing if I had seen this video prior to the movie: I think all the VR/AR/"spirits in the machine" stuff is present canon, and largely unrelated to the "original" story told by the first 6 games or however many. (Vanessa being introduced is a strange wrinkle, though). Maybe they'll do a novie more related to the digital aspects of the series, but only after this era of gaming ends. Scott would the want any players or theorizers to actually know what was happening in Help Wanted, Security Breach and Ruin ;)

I remember hearing that too when Matthew Lillard was announced but I think that was something someone misunderstood and it spread like wildfire. Lillard said he signed a 3 movie deal and I think someone misunderstood and said the movie is gonna be the first 3 games. I had a wild thought about the scene in the trailer with the mask that has the blades in the back (and it's probably too wild but it's just a thought) the mask comes from above and the chair has human sized hand cuffs to the chair.. maybe this is a machine to lock and combine a person inside the suit.. so It actually gets stuck and binded with the person from the inside. I feel like this would also exsplain why the little girl gets in the taxi with freddy at the end of the trailer... and also (unrelated) the little girl saying"hello" in the trailer sounded so much like balloon boy it is suspicious 🤔 what do you think?

Not sure if I agree because I think there's a point in the trailer where it's a blink and you'll miss it situation where someone else is also strapped into the chair but I definitely like the thought of it being Mike!

Well, 1) you missed the detail that Abby is Mike's sister, not daughter. Something tragic happened to their parents, clearly, and he's her guardian. and 2) if this is the case, what's the dealio with the gang and the other security guard who get killed by the animatronics? If the world only exists for Vanessa and Mike, then those characters don't need to exist at all. If your theory were true, nothing that didn't directly involve either of those two in either an active or watching capacity would be on screen. 3) What you are describing would piss off anyone who showed up for the movie and was not already a Freddy's fan. See, the trick here is that you need to make something that is pleasing to dedicated fans, BUT as it is the first entry in a new medium, you also want to take this opportunity to try to "onboard" new fans who aren't familiar with the original medium. Scott already did this once when he moved to writing books, with books that reflect the Freddy's universe, but aren't canon to it. Movies are an entirely new genre, and so a complete story needs to be crafted that can be understood by people who only watch the movies. If they decide to check out the games because of the movies, that's great, Scott sells more stuff, and they have an entirely new lore to explore. And if they decide they only want to watch the movies, that's also great. They can enjoy the continuity of the movies without being REQUIRED to do anything else. (this is an aspect that Disney, for example, is massively failing at in their Star Wars and Marvel properties at the moment, but Scott tends to know better, and hopefully Blumhouse does, too,)

I can see your confusion with my theory and I'll try to explain myself a bit better her. 1) I do understand it's his sister, not daughter but I recorded me saying daughter and didn't realize my mistake until after o had the video 90% finished and instead of going back to re edit everything because I said the wrong word I just chose to leave it in (probably a bad decision since half the comments have been correcting me but oh well) 2) the old night guards death would be due to the children's spirits trying to gamer with the simulation to get Mike into the Pizzeria and presumably save them. Like any videogame, there needs to be npcs sitting around in order to make the place feel more lifelike. If the immersion in the simulation breaks, then it could lead to a way for Mike and Vanessa to escape. My assumption is the spirits kill the old night guard and are the ones who put the job posting up hoping Mike gets it before the simulation attempts to correct itself and get another npc night guard. 3) How I described it might make people angry about the movie but I do believe if they went through with this plan it would work extremely well. The alternative seems to bee that it's just fnaf 1 but as a movie which I think would make many of the fnaf fans feel disappointed after the movie. This franchise has grown and built itself using the Lore and hidden secrets to keep the fans interested and always wanting more. If we go into it expecting how it'll start and end then it'll be disappointing for the fans and could make them less excited for any future films. @@TerminalError Basic tip, if you miss something that is literally spelled out all over the place (like Abby is the sister), it makes the entire rest of your theory seem less credible because you couldn't even keep track of the few details that we know are set in stone. Therefore, you seem less likely to know what you're doing in terms of crafting other theories because you could just be ignoring other details that don't suit you, or maybe you're just not very attentive to what's going on in the first place. I'm saying this in the spirit of being helpful, not to just dunk on you. I believe your explanation and all. this is just why it was a bad choice and something to keep in mind when you do stuff in the future. Being wrong about a theory is normal. Being wrong about 1+1=3 will just make you look bad. 2) If Mike and Vanessa are in the AI, there's no need to lure them anywhere. They've already been lured in. And while killing some NPCs at the front of a video game might make sense, if Vanessa and Mike are the only people who matter, it's pointless if they don't see it. It has no impact. Also the destruction of Freddy's and the deaths of Hank's gang serve no purpose as Mike and Vanessa appear to not be around for that. If the game can just download into Mike's brain that he has a sister named Abby, it can download other stuff it needs to download in order to motivate him. In terms of movie filming, all this stuff with the guard and the gang make sense to show the audience at least some of what is happening , to establish the monsters and the need for a new security guard. That's part of movie storytelling. Storytelling where the person the story is for is mindwiped and pre-programmed with the knowledge you give them, they don't need any of that. I'm not going to say it's impossible for you to be right, just that if you are right, then they're crap storytellers. And I'm more inclined to think they know how to tell a story than that your theory is correct. 3) I'm sure there will be interesting bits of lore. There's always interesting bits of lore. But let's compare to the three different series of Freddy's books. Each series takes place in an alternate version of the FNAF reality. It tells a similar story, but there are different clues and implications to each. And because each book series starts with a different reality, they've provided onboarding for new fans who can then go back and play the games. If you do a rug pull on people who go out to see a scary movie that sounds kind of cool, and they're not video gamers, and then you give them homework to make the story make sense, not only do you lose all those new people who came by to give your story a chance, but you're probably going to actively piss them off. (Disney Star Wars and Marvel properties.) That's bad. You don't need haters around pushing people away from your IP. You don't need the people old fans cajoled into watching a movie with them to be pissed off at those fans for their suggestion when there's a rug pull only people who've played the games can understand. That is, again, bad storytelling. And Blumhouse may make horror movies, but they've got a rep for making reasonably good ones with solid stories. I don't think they're throwing that in the garbage for FNAF. I think they went into this intending to tell another solid story. And Scott has shown himself to be a brilliant promoter of his IP. He's going to try to gather up the new fans, not send them after him with golf clubs. There's supposed to be three movies if they do decently well. The movies will almost certainly be consistent with each other. But while there may be clues and new ideas for old fans, it's probably going to be an alternate reality to some degree. The game fans with get clues in the movies just as they do in the minigames. Anyway, I'll leave you to your theory since you seem so convinced of it. But I think you're missing a lot of internal and external storycrafting concerns.

Nice imagination, horrible theory. I mean, the whole "vr stuff" just sounds lame and well. It's pretty possible that (as in the games) the sequel ends being a prequel and the third part ends being the closure, mostly because this is a whole new canon, with more writing freedom. I like some of your points, but the VR stuff is just out of place

Ok not gonna lie, i hate this theory not in the way like its bad or just straight up trash i think this theory is great and well researched, but i hope this is not true, like the fact that its all just program is super weird. I agree with this movie will have bigger plot twist than what are we seeing in trailers but "its all AI and program" is maybe little too far and I just dont think its true. But even with me thinking its not true doesnt mean its bad. I love how the comunity of fnaf just makes theories like in old days when fnaf wasnt about faz-goo, mimics, and other things.

Yeah and saw you comparing it to the dream theory and i agree with that. Its nearly the same, people are mad becouse it takes their favorite characters and makes them literally just not existing ,but the fact that dream theory was right at some point is crazy so your theory can be right and fans cant do a thing about it and dont worry every fnaf theory gets hate for no reason .

Oh God, did you noticed,the possibility of them being inside a virtual world, but I found a lot of things, first the name of mimic1 is called baby, Elizabeth isn't a real kid but AI, and Vanessa is the absolute mastermind of everything, Cassidy is the name of the crying child, but the fredbear plush is repeating the phrase of the crying child, there only single soul inside of golden Freddy but is broke into two personality, Sun and Moon, there fourth robots of charlie, william finished what henry started, revives charlie without memories as his daughter the one william shouldn't have killed is john of Fourth Closest, in the games replaced as the crying child, his sister is a robot 1-????? 2-elizabeth 3-Vanessa 4-Circus Baby abby in the movie, I don't know what is her identity vanessa isn't trapped, she is the absolute mastermind william will never escape ucn they are tapped in ultimate custom night its an entirely new a world created by the puppet and circus baby, its works perfectly like one, this is the afterlife she create for them, thanks to mixed of ghost and digital power its perfect, the reason she doesn't want to be alone Cassie Dad is william afton, without memories of it Manager of the pizzaplex is Mike Afton without any memories of it Cassie is some kind robot of charlie, but why? the movie abby is weird too gregory and cassie, are mixed of skeleton endo and human flesh

This theory wasn't even a theory. All you did was tell us about your very loose speculation and didn't even provide evidence to back it up. Also that would be a lazy and sloppy script. Fans would hate it, and people that are new to the franchise would be left confused. Plus Abby is Mike's sister, not daughter.
