I remember the first time I saw Yoda. As a kid my mom had brought me the OST to ESB, pretty much as soon as it came out. We must've gotten it from this great local department store chain called "Ann & Hope", which was in the "Liberty Tree Mall" in Danvers MA. This place was enormous, and as large or larger than the biggest Walmart's that we all shop in today. The OST was a double record album, yes 2 12" vinyl records, And the sleeve opened like a book. Inside was a maybe ten page booklet that had photos and text introducing new characters, planets, etc. and there was an entry for Yoda. It didn't give too much away, but it did have a good photo of him. I remember wondering if he was a statue that Luke would find that would lead him to the real Yoda, who would be another human Jedi Master like ben. I didn't realize that he was a puppet until I got to see ESB, a short time later.

I don't think many kids would have wanted that. All the kids I knew including myself wanted as many figures as possible alongside with vehicles and maybe the micro stuff

I'm not sure if I would have collected this Yoda, and I dig Yoda. Maybe it's for the best this toy wasn't released.

This would be cool to have, but something tells me I would want to cut the hair. This would look good displayed next to the Dagobah playset. I like this way better than the hand puppet that came out at the time. Thanks for the video

The STAR WARS version of Toy Story woody. Because he has pull string & he talks. This is way before toy story & yoda almost had pull string talking doll. I may have bought that if it came out. One problem i didn't exist yet. Its interesting these artifacts you find & then they never happened. There's Godzilla pullstring toy that exists out there too. Its rare though. Okay, when they got 1970's theres no sfx noises yet. By 1990's the sfx is there. Toy Story came out that era. And what else came out same yr toy story did? STAR WARS POTF 2. The vehicles reuse the vintage kenner molds, they don't have spinning motors any longer, they have sfx noises n sounds. Touch of button. Who else had noises touch of button? None other than Buzz lightyear himself. And woody represents the old era age before the current sfx noises took about. With reused molds for new released toys. Interesting isn't it. And they didn't do the same with Godzilla til 90's when heisei era came around.
