They did, the 50 random tile requirement was removed as it was apparently an oversight and not intended behaviour (it was meant to just scan for one available tile rather than 50, which is much more reasonable for one-tile objects like the stone owl and strange capsule)

in my first winter I found the owl statue while clearing some trees, next to it a meteorite and in spring the capsule spawned left of the house, first time playing the game and I didn't think it was anything special, didn't have any mods then but now I started moding, for the owl statue there can't be any requirements for clear tiles because it spawned amids alot of trees

There is a heart event with Sebastian where you play that game and in part of the game you choose where to go. There are capsules in a room that you can break open. This seems to be sort of like those capsules.

Why do I feel like Crobus will give some sort of dialogue regarding the capsule? or perhaps you could catch it fishing?(in the sewer) or perhaps tilling land? it looks like some sort of worm but this is just my own theory.. anyone else feel the same? 2021 - i do believe concernedape modified the rate of getting owls, because i got 2 in only 1 year in-game time, so yes, owl rates are much higher now!

Here are some experiments ideas you might try with owl and capsule (all before and after "escape" of this creature) -exposing it in town like the lewis gold statue -leaving it in various builds like green house , villagers houses or even fruit/mushroom cave -ehh of course ;) stardew fair and soup -selling (box and npc's) -leaving it for longer time on farm , or maybe even wait for grandpa evaluation -maybe gifts ? -what about other events like crop fairy do they still happen -try to put this capsule in some kind of cage , maybe with fences or any object with collison like chests -another typical DF stuff bomb it ! Ohh i got an idea this creature in capsule might me baby dwarf or shadow And it reminds me of a kindergarten ending.

I believe that the alien in the strange capsule is a shadow person, like Krobus. If you look at the thing inside the capsule, it has most defining features of a shadow person: A twirl on top of the head, and it’s a couple shades darker than the surrounding pixels. It could be a developing shadow person baby.

there is a cut scene with sebastian where you play the dnd-esque game with him. inside the wizards tower the wizard is putting people in capsules that are exactly the same as the “strange capsule” and he then says they eventually become a part of his skeleton army. there is a red symbol also shown at the end of the cutscene somewhere in the back ground that is identical to the one on the witches floor that teleports you to the wizards tower.....do with this what you willl

I’ve actually gotten the owl and the capsule. For the capsule I got it on year 2 and the owl year one I think. You probably won’t believe me but the owl’s in my house and the now empty capsule is in a chest. No pictures of the capsule with the thing in it because I had no idea it was that rare. My farm is insanely covered, so I'm shocked it happened. I also had the fairy event in Spring. I've had the fairy event several times on my around save files.

I think he was more so very, very "enthusiastic" about doing a video that he knew would take hundreds of in-game years to complete. He's already vocalized that he's not particularly fond of videos that take several hours or days to complete, so it's pretty fitting. I'm not saying not to worry, by all means. Expressing your care and concern for others is always a good thing. I just think he made it pretty clear why he sounded less than happy this time around ;)

I got one of those owl statues that is shown in this video. I did not have to clean up anything. I had a barn and coop and fence all around. I found it when I was cleaning some grassy areas to put a shed. I did hear the owl sound at some point, but didn't go look for it. So you do not have to get rid of everything to get it!

I spawned it on my very first character roughly 4 days into game. I didn't know what it was and figured it was a common occurrence. I deleated the character because I had made so many mistakes as a new player. I also gave the guy in the museum a prismatic Shard. So many mistakes. lol

One day after watching this video while playing SV, i heard an owl during the night, next day... I found the statue, the save file was 110 hours and didnt even try, it just happened because last day I clear a ton of trees because I needed the wood.

I just got the stone owl on my year 4 farm that was almost completely covered in various flooring tiles and crops. Didn't know it existed but now I feel pretty lucky! Playing the Switch version, too.

The 50 tile requirement was apparently an oversight and not intended behaviour, in 1.5 concernedape fixed the scan to correctly scan for only one available tile, so still pretty lucky but not as lucky

Lol, in my current playthrough (1.5) I got 2 owl statues and 1 strange capsule in the first year alone. Tbh I haven't had one of those events in more than 1400 hours of SV before.
