The funny noises you were hearing at around 2:18 - 2:27 in the song is Jimmy Page (Guitarist) using a Violin Bow on his Telecaster Guitar that's making it sound almost like a whale call type sound hahaha! The most perfect reaction!!! When the super heavy extended instrumental section was exploding with musical fireworks, you both just grooved your way into the deep end without crying for help. I'm just a few years younger than this fireworks team and have been there listening to and seeing them from the beginning of their reign of greatness. This song from their very first album is still the one that reaches in the deepest and shakes the youth back into me.

Some of these old Zeppelin tunes just empitomize the 60s. I hear songs like this one, and I immediately picture a dark smoky den full of beatniks and hippies, with satyr goatees, wearing berets and Lennon glasses and all the gaudy fashion trends of the 60s/70s, with expressions like "cool cat" and "far out" being lobbed about in their poetry "recitials". In particular, the opening bass line on "How Many More Times" makes me think of those old Spider-Man cartoons with the dark ambience and limited "stock photo" backgrounds that get overused (lol).

You need to understand how huge these guys were in the ‘70’s. Their movie “Song Remains the Same” was played at midnight on theaters around the country. We loved a lot of great bands, but it was like a national holiday when a new Zeppelin album dropped. Getting a ticket to a concert was near impossible. Radio stations had shows called ‘Get the Led Out’, hours of Zeppelin songs on a Saturday or Sunday night. More great songs on a typical album than most bands ‘ greatest hits.

Led Zeppelin's mangaer, Peter Grant, was the gangster of band management. He TOLD the record label and concert venue's that the band WILL get paid more than they will. Period. Not up for discussion. At one concert he brought in a contract minutes before the show. Telling the concert promoter that either he signs the contract or they will walk away. It was a sold out show and everyone was waiting for the band to play. The promoter had no choice or he'd have a riot on his hands. Every musician and actor today owes their riches to Peter Grant. He changed the industry.

Dazed and Confused is actually a cover of a Jake Holmes song written in 1967. Originally it was more of a folk rock song before it was recorded in the blues rock style by Jimmy Page's former band The Yardbirds in 1968. The Led Zeppelin version recorded in 1969 is by far the best imo. This was the studio version of Dazed and Confused that someone edited bits of live video into. This was not a live version. Notably the Yardbirds produced three of the biggest guitar legends of their time; Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck. If you want to look down the rabbit hole of Led Zeppelin "Since I've Been Loving You" is a good place to go from here. The studio version.

@ZzKoBzZ4 жыл бұрын
@@lyndoncmp5751 I know what you mean but I don't see things this way. These 5 notes are the main riff that we hear in most of the song and Jimmy page also kept the original title (some bands got sued for less than this), which means Led Zep's Dazed and Confused would probably never have existed if he didn't hear the original first, so he should have given credits to Jake Holmes for this reason

Very nice reaction girls. I wish you would’ve reacted to the live version so you can see the guitarist jimmy page play his guitar with the cello bow. He’s one of the very few who does that. This song is from their first album, recorded in October 1968 and released in January 1969. That’s why it has that psychedelic, trippy feel to it. Other songs to react to: immigrant song and since I’ve been loving you from their third album, stairway to heaven and black dog from their fourth, no quarter and rain song from houses of the holy album, Kashmir, 10 years gone, and in my time of dying from physical graffiti, and Achilles last stand from their presence album. That will keep you busy for a while but it will give you a good understanding of Led Zeppelin’s musicianship and talent.
