To be fair lucio has a better boop since it deals damage and he can run around enemies with it. Basically it can be used in more situations but the nerf wasnt needed at all, if they really wanted ti nerf him then reduce initial self healing from cross fade abit (the previous 60% was too much). Overall he’s pretty fine, he’s only prominent due to the meta.

Its not stray. Lucios boop was intentionally made strong *because* tanks had the knockback resistance. But by reducing the knockback resistance, they had to tone his down a little bit. "Well then why nerf tank resistance at all?" you may ask. The answer is because there's a LOT of other knockbacks.

Boop's knockback speed is 17m/s according to the wiki. With the original tank passive, this dropped down to 8.5m/s. However, with the tank passive being reduced to 40% and boop being reduced by 10%, that 10% takes place before the 40% which results in a boop speed of 9.18m/s. Before the 10% nerf, boop speed vs. tanks was 10.2m/s. So all in all, its still slightly better than before the nerfed tank passive. However, the nerf was completely unnecessary and they couldve at least given us slightly higher base damage because dont forget, that 10% reduction is vs. EVERYONE. Meaning boop is no longer 17m/s its a measly 15.3. And as we lucio mains should know, every meter matters... Edit; right. Almost forgot to mention that's just initial speed... it still has rapid drop-off 😂 and that's still BEFORE taking counterstrafing into the equation!!

Especially since the effect of changing initial velocity isn't proportional to the effectiveness of boop. I.e. a 10% boop reduction will reduce the effective distance by more than 10% Edit: If they need boop to be less one-tappy with environmentals, stop putting edges on the objective. That way boop can be worth something when it isn't used for environmentals.

Okay I think I understand how to fix this we leave the knock back percentage alone on pharah but reduce its radius just by 1 m this is so knockback abilities don't start feeling like a backwards hook mechanic but we also bring down Lucio's Effectiveness just a tiny bit once again which I know you aren't going to like the sound of but this is just so that we can instead extend the range of Boop in general and not just a little bit maybe like five whole meters and it does a quick little wave animation to represent the effective area but this way you can try and get those environmental Kilz from a much more farther and comfortable distance as well as pushing tanks away from you from a farther distance so you have more of a likelihood of escaping the ability itself already has this weird stun mechanic where anyone pushed by it can't press any of their buttons for half a second but still not be able to move the tanks that much it would definitely help in getting out of those situations

It would be cool if Lucio boop could do more damage if you hit them into a wall, but only when moving fast/amping speed. Imagine a fast frog passing by quickly and booping an enemy into a wall because of their momentum doing more damage/pushing them farther. Or if the distance booped scaled with your current speed. Basically fast Lucio means more effective Lucio :)

The boop is still sliiiiightly better. Before, the tanks had 50% knockback, giving 50% boop. Now with the global 10% less for all characters and the tank passive going to 40%, you're effectively booping them 60% of 90%, giving you 54% of the previous patch. I know it's only 4% overall, but still a teeeeensy bit better. I've been told I need to be more positive, so there it is.
