Krista and Rob are a one of a kind pair! They bought their farm 35 years ago with the idea of raising their children in the open space and growing their own food. Krista started working with herbs and soon became an expert. She now teaches a 14 day course, spread across 3 seasons, over all things herbs. She even wrote 2 books about it, with the help of her daughter-in-law.

Thank you for presenting the positive affirmation that it’s okay to start with one. That’s the way I’m approaching growing vegetables and other foods in a new environment to me. I’ve learned how to grow sweet potatoes watermelon squash garlic onions potatoes asparagus tomatoes and peppers in the short time we’ve lived in Tennessee. We only moved here in June of 22. None of these things have produced enough to actually even pay for the plant except the knowledge and the asparagus, oh and the garlic. I’m so tickled with my garlic, first time growing and I got enough for planting in in the fall and household garlic for a year. We finally got our breeding program going for our pigs. Now I have a chore of repairing and replacing some perimeter fence. Not much fun, but very satisfying. My age is a factor, but it’s all worth it

Oh wow!! That’s great!!! I love how she offers that too! It’s easy to get into the trap that we have to do it all, all at once. But we don’t. Just start with one and build. ❤️

We had a smaller version of that Fischer wood stove in our house in Oregon and I loved that stove, they are one of the most efficient wood stoves I’ve used in better than fifty years of burning wood

I took their whole living class and it was great. Started the herbarium but health issues made me stop. One of the best medicinal gardens around.
