Discover three easy-to-make homemade protein powder recipes using nutritious seeds and pulses. These alternatives provide essential amino acids, healthy fats, and minerals, perfect for supplementing your protein intake in a wholesome way.
Hemp and Chia Seed Protein Powder: Ingredients:
1 cup hemp seeds
1/2 cup chia seeds
1/2 cup flaxseeds
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
Instructions:
Combine all seeds in a blender or food processor.
Blend until you achieve a fine powder consistency.
Store in an airtight container for future use.
Amaranth and Sunflower Seed Protein Powder: Ingredients:
1 cup amaranth flakes
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup chia seeds
Instructions:
Toast amaranth flakes, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and chia seeds in a pan over low heat until fragrant.
Allow the mixture to cool.
Blend the cooled mixture into a fine powder.
Store in an airtight container for later use.
Usage: Mix a scoop of these homemade protein powders with your favorite plant-based milk or water. Blend with fruits or vegetables to create nutritious protein shakes. Adjust sweetness and flavor with additions like banana, berries, or honey.
Chana Sattu Powder: Ingredients:
2 cups split Bengal gram (chana dal)
Instructions:
Roast the chana dal in a pan until it emits a nutty aroma (approximately 8-10 minutes).
Allow the roasted dal to cool.
Grind the cooled dal into a fine powder.
Optionally, sift the ground powder using a fine-mesh sieve for a smoother texture.
Usage:
Make a Sattu Drink by mixing 2-3 tablespoons of Chana Sattu powder with water or buttermilk. Add salt and seasonings like cumin powder, chopped green chilies, and coriander leaves for flavor.
Incorporate Chana Sattu powder into paratha dough for protein-packed Sattu Parathas.
Create Sattu Ladoo or Energy Balls by combining the powder with jaggery, ghee, and crushed nuts.

Thank you for these tips. In my local stores they ruin the protein powders by putting aspartame in them. I don't want to eat that chemical. So these recipes are very helpful. 🌺🌻🌷

I thought fruit were to be eaten on their own, and bananas are a non-no with cow's milk in ayurveda. You did say vegetable milk, so we can try that. Thank you.
