I tried this recipe and absolutely loved the unique way you prepared it! You can't compare this to whey protein. Whey is a lean source of protein (less calories).This is a fat shake suitable for bulking

I did a quick breakdown of just these four ingredients to equal out 1 cup for simplicity: 1/4 cup of each - hemp seed, flax seed, chia seeds, and pumpkin seeds. The total for that mix would be - 31 grams of protein / 32 grams of carbs / 53 grams of fat / 714 grams total. Assuming you broke that down into four servings, you are looking at: 7.75 grams of protein, 8 grams of carbs, 13 grams of fat, and 178 calories total. Nowhere near the results I was hoping for. Even if I doubled that, the protein is still only around 15 grams, but the carbs now are at 26 (not horrible), but 26 grams of fat (albeit good fat), but at 356 calories. Depending on what you are training for, as healthy as this may be, it is very caloric dense and not sure if it is worth the amount of effort to make in bulk. I do love the recipes, and will continue to look for ways of replacing store bought protein shakes.

Take same quantity of each items: Pumpkin Seeds Flax Seeds Oat Almonds Pista Walnuts peanuts Dry roast all these ingredients for 2 mins or until little brown Once it cool add Chia seeds Mix and grand together and make it powder Take 1 tablespoon of this powder with milk or smoothie

Whey is also indigenous, which means it comes from MILK. Also, there is no replacement for Protein powder since, these homemade ideas contains lots of carbs and fats not lean protein. It's good as in individual diet but not comparable to Protein powder.

Well there's a difference between commercial protein powders (either vegan powders or whey protein) and this. The seed powders are going to be high in fats and oats are high in carbs. And chickpeas also have carbs if am not wrong. But the commercial protein powders are low in carbs and fats and high in protein.

No don't go for this recipe. It is full of fat and carbs. Negligible protein. Nothing can replace whey protein. Because whey is also a natural occurring substance, made from milk. Companies take good precautions to keep the protein pure.

Hello, Can you please tell us how much protein you will get by consuming 100 Gm of the mixture ? Nuts contain generally 20-30 % Protein which means I spoon of 20 gm serving will give only 4-6 gm of protein while same quantity of commercial protein will give 16-18 gm of protein.

The best option out of 3 is sattu. Other 2 are more of weight/mass gainers than protein powders. No doubt they are healthy but each serving will give a very low amount of protein.

No, the seeds and nuts powder cannot be compared with the whey powder. Firstly, this powder mix will have a high carb and fat content that is not fit for someone who is willing to go lean. Secondly, this mix has a “GARAM TAASEER” to it which cannot be taken by Pitta dominated people and in summers as well. Thirdly, it might lack some aminos and micros n macros or if they have them, it won’t be completing your RDA for that. Fourthly, most of the thing would be adding just extra fibre to your gut and be excreted out as it is. Bioavailability is less than whey (sure, coz whey has the highest bioavailability) !! All in all, this can be termed as a “HEALTH PREMIX” rather than calling it your homemade wholesome protein meal. Rest opinions can differ, this was mine. Thanks 😊

Hi Abhishek....I googled the protein content in whey and it just shows 0.9 grams of protein per 100 g of whey. Also, I was reading wikipedia about the composition of whey. doesn't look like a lot of amino acids are present. Then how come the commercial whey proteins promise almost 25 grams of protein per 33 grams scoop of whey? Do you know?

1,Making the powder in bulk will cost you more than whey isolate protein powders available in the market. 2, these ingredients are great, so you can also simply put them in a jar(without roasting)or at least 1 cup of oats is enough , add chocolate peanut 4tbps butter and chocolate syrup for taste( Hershey's) and add 1 glass of milk in the same jar and lastly mix them in a blunder/mixer to make thick smoothie or milkshake. (I'm doing it since past week)😋😋
