Not happening anymore often now than it always has- you just started watching a show that gathers all these cases and tells you about them. There's no epidemic of ppl murdering their partners- there is however an epidemic of mass shootings, school shootings, etc. -usually committed by younger ppl- that is happening far more often than it ever has in the past. Why? I haven't the slightest idea= kids seem to think it will make them a super star or something- that it's a way to become known by everyone. In reality it's a way to become hated by everyone, but to these kids fame is fame- doesn't matter how or why they're famous, as long as they're famous. Imo it's social media influence- think about it, that's the same mind set content creators have. They don't care if you comment because you hate what they've done or if you comment because you love it- as long as you comment. These kids think the same way- doesn't matter why you know who they are, as long as you know who they are. I'm sure 20 years later when they're still sitting in prison and have been long forgotten by everyone- they would take it all back, but they can't.

I'm no professional ,but I believe that the defense of "in the heat of passion" shouldn't even be considered because it's a Captain obvious type statement. if you think about it, It pretty much applies to everybody that commits murder who isn't a professional killer or a serial murderer.
