I kept waiting for Rinne and after 6-10 went by, I was like “wow, he must really think more highly of Rinne than I thought”. And then with every new goalie I thought “wow, he REALLY must think highly of Rinne.” Then he wasn’t on the list at all, and from the start I never even considered that. I think his age is getting to him a bit, but he has to be better than Andersen at least

Rinne is just too good for this list. Surely his omission is the spark that lit the armageddon. I dont know about being a goalie, but it seems to have a way larger mental demand than a typical pro sports position. Maybe this is where Rinne loses out. Has the skill, highlight machine but there's always that nagging thought in the back of the mind that he'll have one of "those games" that are happening just a little more frequently recently. Great list. Though I disagree with the top 5. I’ve got Ben bishop at #1. Barbrovsky #2, Carey price #3. I don’t think Fleury is a top 5 goalie. I also think Tampas goaltending is a benefactor of how amazing Tampa is. I also believe binnington can be a top 5. But like many of these goalies how the blues play in front of him is a huge factor. Habs fan here and a big fan of Price (I do think he's the best in the league). I would argue that he's portrayed as a superhero because the players themselves consider him to be the best (almost every year, in the players polls, he's voted best goaltender). Also he plays in Montreal (long history of great GT and a lot of media pressure) behind a weak and small D (especially w/o Weber) . He's almost always calm and in control in net (passes easily the eye test) but can make the odd spectacular save (his recent last second save on Ovi was one for the ages: look it up if you never saw it). He's surely a top3 goalie in the league today and almost certainly the best goalie since Brodeur retired (it's between him and King Henrik imo). He is injury prone tho. Regardless, great list and keep up the great work!

Flower is a true bet to the game, and has 3 Stanley cups, that’s why he’s as high as he is, he’s been good for almost his entire career. Price on the other hand was only a true legendary goaltender for 3 seasons and since then has been pretty highly over rated by everyone myself included. But to suggest flower is worse then price would be silly.

@@ElysiumGamingNetwork I think he's not overrated and never was look at the defense he plays behind. Either way his sv percentage is 918 not 913 and that's a notable difference(I don't blame Shannon for making a mistake, it could happen to anyone). Fleury's is 913(still excellent). Besides it's not an overall ranking of these goalies whole careers it's just for right now, (otherwise guys like Price, Fleury and even Lundqvist obviously would've been above Vasi and even Bob, but rn these 2 are damn hot). Also pls don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE Flower, he's my second favorite active goalie only behind Price. And the cups are also due to Crosby and Malkin (not saying that Fleury was not a part of them)

Panther fan, I honestly believe or issue last season was defense and not goaltending. Reimer inconsistent as usual but when Monty stepped in he played great. Panthers blew at least 10 leads the past season and I personally think it's the fault of having too many offensive DMen.

I’m a Blues fan and I’m ok with Binnington being at number 9 but I am anxious to see where Carter Hart is next year, at just 19 years old he came in and did well at the beginning before Philly fell off but I see him being top ten in maybe 3 or so years! Fleury is to high, drop him below Gibson and I'm ok with it. I think Bishop is top 3 when healthy but he does get injured a lot.
