All I can say is when I get out of school, no nurse is going to be bullying or chewing me up.... yeah nope. There’s no room for that kind of foolishness in healthcare; when I am the old nurse decades from now, that bullshit still won’t fly when I am there.

@SimpleSuzie1235 жыл бұрын
As a female nurse I can definitely confirm that there is more drama among fields with predominately women vs. predominately men. Usually units that have more gender balance have less of this issue. Most male nurses work in the ER or ICU so those types of units may have less of this problem. Also, in terms of nurses eating their young, I don't think I have had any personal experience with this. I think medical professionals eat their young in general. Have you ever thought of all the things medical residents have to go through before becoming an attending? Any noble profession will come with great challenges. Many times the people in your profession will be the challenge. It's important to stay grounded and get the skills you need so you can move on to better jobs or careers in the future. Just my 2 cents. Great video as usual Kaynen!

Some people on KZbin will definitely make these kinds of videos but then will spend 15-20 mins bashing everything nursing but I appreciate your outlook on it and your advice on the matter! It’s just an odd mentality that nurses have that discouraging other nurses or bullying them or competing with them overall is ok and it’s just “tough love”. So I recently changed my focus from biology to nursing, and hope to get into nursing school next fall. I'm taking my pre reqs at CBC in Pasco, WA (same college you went to for a while I believe). What tips can you share about doing well during the application and interview for nursing school? I have a 3.77 so I'm not too worried about grades, but I'm terrible at interviews lmao. Thanks!
@kaynenbrown51025 жыл бұрын
Daehan Harris Hahah Pascoooooooo😎. You’re correct I don’t believe you will have a grade issue. In terms of the interview I always recommend people “be themselves”. What I mean by this is rather that rehears your answers for possible question they will ask you, only practice what you would say if ask certain questions. “What do you want to become a nurse”....don’t have something memorized, but rather have a story or situation in your head that you would like to tell them. This makes your interview sound so much more personal rather than rehearsed. Do this for all of the potential questions they may ask you. Focus more so on what story, event, experience etc that you could talk about rather than literally word for word what you are going to say.:)
