My youngest daughter and I LOVED the live-action Barbie movie, but curiously, my wife and oldest daughter HATED the film! I think the film contradicted their head-cannon about the dolls, but my youngest and me didn't have any head-cannon to contradict. It's kind of like how G4 MLP fans didn't like G5 because it twisted G4's lore, but fans who started with G5 love G5.
