The price of the trackhawk has really come down a lot. You couldn’t find one for less than $100k in my area in the first 3-4months they were out. Now they are sitting on dealer lots and you can get great deals, in the low 80s range. This video lays it out perfectly. Rumor is the next gen gc will be on the stelvio platform. I’m waiting to see what this next gen has in store, curious to see if they bring the trackhawk back even those sales are less than stellar, and since they won’t be using the srt on anything but dodge anymore will it be trackhawk and trackhawk jr? Seems many manufacturers are moving away from v8s in favor of fuel economy, like the new raptor. I sure hope dodge/Jeep keep pumping out the v8 power

My JEEP SRT's AWD system started experiencing problems at around 55,000 miles. By 60,000 miles I got a warranty repaired rear differential and AWD service. By 70,000 miles I needed to rebuild the AC system, mostly covered by warranty, but still cost me around $600 and 3 service trips. Now I'm hitting 80,000 miles and ready to trade it for a Cadillac Lyriq AWD - which is taking so long to get, I'm watching gas pass $4.10 per gallon against and interest rates go up yet again. I want out of this thing NOW, but the replacement isn't ready yet. It feels like life is on hold and everything is stagnant. I absolutely have the money ready in cash, but the car won't be built for another 2 weeks. I am thankful I didn't buy a Trackhawk and bought another piece of real estate property because if I was in the Trackhawk right now, I'd be trying to get out of that too.

I think something that needs to be said with TrackHawk is Chrysler has strengthened the transmission and cooling on TrackHawk and that is worth it in long term(not to mention brakes and suspension). As a Jeep Grand Cherokee owner, I full agree, get Mopar extended warranty. I got the lifetime and that may not be available any longer but you can still get them for 100k. In 100k I have had emissions module, oil pan housing, oil pump, transmission/coolant intercollegiate, Steering rack and multiple window regulator and hatch struts replaced, the Mopar warranty is fantastic and pays for itself

I have a 2012 JGC SRT and I’ll tell you right now. If you buy new or especially used buy the best extended warranty you can. I purchased a bumper to bumper and thank god I did. I’ve had several of the problems he mentions in the video. Carbon fiber trim, Water pump, tire pressure monitor valve stem broke in half . One day I got in to start it and it had a nasty ticking sound (65000 miles) I was hoping it was a exhaust manifold leak but it was the lifters. That job alone at the dealer cost $4800. They replaced the lifters and cam. It was down for a month. I still have 3 years left of the warranty so I’ll be ok. Would I buy this vehicle again? Absolutely! There is just something about having the best of both worlds. Speed and luxury. It was bone stock until recently. CORSA put on a CAI and cat back and I’m telling you it is worth every penny. If I ever trade it will be for the TrackHawk.

Seems like you would know this already with all your time in a GC, but I didn't see you do it, so I'm gonna throw it out there....while she's talking, you can just turn the volume knob to quickly change the Nav voice volume, but ONLY while she's currently talking. Much easier than going into the Nav settings to change the volume. After half a year in my new SRT (which I do love), I'm already thinking I should have just gone with the Trackhawk (it didn't take long to want more power!). I may still trade it for a 2020, since 2021 is now slated for the new platform (after being bumped numerous times from the original plan of 2018), and I will never buy an all new model in its first year. Nice job, as usual, on the video.

Still hoping for the BlackVue at the 10K giveaway; I'm undecided what to do with my '19 V8 Limited X. I would love to keep it Street, but, since it's the 4x4, I could see Overlanding with it. #Undecided #NewJeepownerdontknow

Really odd you should make this video... I recently checked the numbers and if I sold it now, I would be in the positive. Question is, what to get??! Trackhawk is a far stretch for me lol. Damn evap issues has been plaguing my truck smh.
@EastCoastJeepSRT5 жыл бұрын
For the long haul the Trackhawk is a better deal. The forged 6.2L is damn near bulletproof and you can easily make it go 10s and be a daily.

BUT, a 50k mile vehicle that has had the balls beaten out of it for basically 50k miles is kind of expected that there will be lifter problems etc...On something driven Normal,Yes I'd say 50k is very early to have problems,but for the people tracking there cars/trucks ,street racing and just driving hard 50k is alot of miles.,and the reason I will never buy any performance car/truck used with anything more than a few thousand miles...
@EastCoastJeepSRT5 жыл бұрын
Not everyone beats the balls off of these. I know people personally that drive them like they’re driving Miss Daisy. It’s their baby. You’re assuming too much because of the kind of vehicle it is. A lot of guys baby these things like it’s sucking on their tit for milk.

I look at it this way: For $50K you can have a Grand Cherokee Overland with a 5.7L Hemi that will be faster than 80% of the vehicles on the road today. For another $20K you can get a SRT and raise that up to 90% and for another $20K you can get a Trackhawk and raise it to 95%. "Band for the buck" the 5.7L is the big winner. There will always be someone faster, it all depends on how deep you pocket is.
@EastCoastJeepSRT5 жыл бұрын
I don’t know who told you that the 5.7L Overland will beat 80% of the vehicles on the road today, but you’re wrong. They run close to 16 seconds on the quarter mile with a 0-60 of almost 8. They’re so slow for a Heni it’s embarrassing. A KIA runs a faster quarter mile. Who told you that it’s fast? You can’t even beat a Hyundai with it.
@mattsynth5 жыл бұрын
@@EastCoastJeepSRT 5.7L Chrysler factory spec is 0-60 in 6.5sec, the SRT 1.2 sec. better and the Trackhawk 3 sec. better . The 80% is just my conservative starting point but with the price of gas and what type of cars most people are buying, this figure may be higher. What Hyundai or Kia SUV are you referring too, I could not find any that come close to a 6.5 time? No matter how you look at it the stock 5.7L Grand Cherokee is a sweet ride for the price and most people do not have $50K to spend for 3 more seconds of speed.
@EastCoastJeepSRT5 жыл бұрын
mattsynth gotcha. Was wondering how you came to that number. One advance the 5.7 has is its better gas mileage. It crushes the Trackhawk for mpg. If you want speed and long distance economical driving, the Overland is the way to go. I actually kiss mine for many reasons. Aside from the gas mileage it got it had the ability to lift and lower on demand. In heavy snow I could raise it up 2”, or when exiting drop it down on the wheels. Great feature.
@edjackson43895 жыл бұрын
@@EastCoastJeepSRT You are right about that! I've owned a Charger R/T and a Magnum R/T both with the the 5.7 -- When I got my Jeep Limited with the same 5.7 Hemi I was expecting to give up a little performance, but damn It felt like I lost 100hp. That's literally what it feels like. I still love the Jeep because I wanted the offroad abilities, and it still gets outta the hole pretty well, and drives great, but it's much slower that the 5.7 Hemi cars and nowhere near the SRT offerings
