Simone is the perfect example of a mole who followed the "fake it, till you make it" doctrine, to get into comics with the goal to wreak havoc. And thus deserves the flack shes getting. I was excited about the changes made for the upcoming Red Sonja movie, till I was reminded the director doesnt has creative control. Sadly Simone does. The awfull way how she rebooted Red Sonja comic and the way she has been hinting & gloating about her involvement with the upcoming Red Sonja movie; already tells me just like the comic its going to be an abomination of epic proportions. To that extend I dont understand Dynamite. From what Ive heard they do Vampirella justice (of which Im glad despite I dont read it), start a new promising collab with Shannon Maer; yet they let such destructive force like Simone loose on Red Sonja.

We haven't seen it all yet. There are still identities that Marvel hasn't presented in their comics. How about Jessica Jones as a human identifying as a non-binary deer or cat? My broken record comment from someone outside of the comic fandom... Who is buying these? Although not super expensive, I'm sure it's not affordable to keep printing books let alone keeping on staff to produce and write them. I keep saying, and thinking that this is a easy way for tv/movie studios to storyboard ideas, or maybe someone in those large companies just kept paying these paychecks and the money isn't large enough for anyone in management to realize what's going on.

It's fairly obvious that no one is buying these comics. The question I have, given the cost of producing the things, is: who did they think would buy these comics? Do they actually think there is a market out there for these things? (My own theory is that sometime around 2010 they did a survey of what the kids who read comics actually read and found all these webcomics out there that were all in on the "diversity, inclusion, and representation" stuff and decided to go that direction themselves - imagining there was a huge - largely female - audience out there just waiting to be tapped.) Or has Marvel actually gotten to the point where they aren't making comics for ANYONE to read. I don't even think they're making the comics THEY want to read. Could they just be coasting on what's left of Marvel's steam, paying one another to produce a few more issues of anything, waiting for Disney to shut them down and farm out their characters out to other publishers?

I'd like a mini-series based on the "What if Captain America married Jessica Jones or a new "What If" storyline with Captain America marrying the Scarlet Wirch or The Black Widow. I think the third choice would have made sense during the Cold War up until the collapse of the Soviet Union. That pairing could be dated now, but I still like the idea. Jessica Jones and Power Man were never successful with their own books, just like Cloak and Dagger, and The Scarlet Witch and Vision. I'm talking about the History of these characters not the recent reboots of the early 2000s to today. The Jessica Jones Netflix show was successful w/3 seasons, but that show and none of the other Marvel Characters with their own shows could touch the popularity, quality of the writing, and storylines of the Daredevil Netflix TV Series. That show would have lasted 7 seasons if it hadn't been canceled due to the Marvel Superhero purge on Netflix. Just my opinion.

Watching this slow-motion train wreck called Marvel Comics, is almost as entertaining as the MCU itself. I really wonder what's going on in the board room between these executives? My understanding is that Marvel Comics doesn't actually own the IP for its characters anymore, but licenses it back from its corporate overlords. Those overlords have decided that Marvel Comic's way to grow is to be more inclusive and international. They don't really care about the COMICS part of the Marvel IP set because their movies make so much money, and they don't see the comics part of it driving sales. For them it's more about milking the IP however they can to boost their quarterly earnings statements up front. Perhaps they see the comics division now as just a testing ground for hare-brained theories about how to expand their audience. At some point, I hope they see that what they should have done was create a whole new comics division, a new universe with new characters and test over there, rather than screwing with the characters and lore that their core audience loves.

And At the Ending of Ms Marvel: Beyond the Limit issue 5. *Marvel hinting they are making A Kamala Khan Multiverse and her Variants.* Marvel see Multiverse stories a business stand-point most likely Success of Spider-Verse movie. Before, the multiverse was a fun way to explore interesting/cool ideas. What if all the heroes' genders were reversed; what if Bruce Wayne died in the alley; what if Kal-El's rocket landed in Russia. But now, it's just the same tired idea of what if "insert character" was every other character that already exists. I'm really starting to dislike the multiverse. Also, I think some characters just don't fit the multiverse story. I think Jessica Jones is one of them.

All, can say I loved Gail Simone Birds Of Prey, The Secret Six, Agent X and her Batgirl runs. They were all fantastic. Her Domino series was good but like the Black Cat is not a popular hero as a solo character. While, the Variants is not an idea, she has a great history of great comics.

Even Stan Lee wrote some bad comics like Ravage 2009.Another example of a good writer later writing crap. Frank Miller with the Dark Knight Strikes again (well both the 2nd and 3rd mini series) or All Star Batman. As they say not all comics are winners, but most of her books are good.

Experimentation is sometimes a good thing. But not when business is suffering. Marvel and DC desperately need to focus on their core. If they want to keep publishing comics, they need to regain their readers and the only way to do that is to get back to basics. Tell actual superhero stories with adventure and action. No crazy crap or experimental stories or going into different genres. Just tell friggen fun and exciting stories.

More trash not to buy, I've subscribed to a bi weekly dc collection and all the graphic novels I've received so far have been non woke and have mostly stories from the 70s and 80s that dc will never reprint, all the while the same companies marvel sub has been nothing but woke garbage, its too easy for marvel and dc to do all these rubbish variants versions, I miss actual what if stories and not let's copy spider-verse all the time, keep up the good work wes I enjoy watching your vids everyday 😉

C'mon... to be fair, genderbent alternate versions of characters have been around for decades. Alan Moore and Chris Claremont were doing this kind of stuff back in the 80's. And i'm pretty sure it was done even before that back in old Superman comics. It's not new by any stretch. Nor is it always been considered woke. I highly doubt Gail Simone feels the need to take writing advice from the likes of Vita Ayala. It's a decades old writing trope. And at least this one got killed off pretty fast.
