The train speed example is a bit flawed because the train speed has clear macroeconomic effects in the areas it serves. So, investments in higher speed trains are not usually motivated by passenger preferences (except Japan, trains are usually not profitable anyway)

For me, I see Rory Sutherland on the title paired with words like “Advertising”, I click. I don’t even look at the views, like to dislike ratio, comments and video duration the way I used to.
