for those not well versed in 40k lore, the bolter in darktide is the tuned down version made for use by the guard. the normal bolter fires a .75mm self propelling rocket round at a potentially 250 RPM

@@Alboravin 250 rounds per minute is very slow for a self-loading firearm. The AK, known for a relatively low rate of fire, shoots at 600 RPM. If you want a windy day at the beach, look at something like the French FAMAS that fires at 900-1,000 RPM!

The plasma gun overheating thing is actually canon. Imperial plasma guns have a "safety" feature where if the gun gets too hot it ejects all the excess plasma into the operator's face, killing them to save the gun.

Bolt guns are basically bigger 50 BMG rounds, that explode, and also are just a different round in general. There is nothing in our world close to it in bullet terms. Only explosive frags.
