I was born and raised in this neighborhood. The reason why it’s so “cheap” is because it’s across the street from the projects and it’s surrounded by them. Also I believe that deli and grill is where someone was shot and killed recently. If it’s not that one it’s the one a block or 2 away. It’s a primarily Hispanic community where most live below the poverty line. In the last decade or so it’s been overrun by hipsters causing the rents to go up.

That's always the case, they move here living with 5 ppl in a 2 bdrm apt paying 2500 to have "fun" then go back to their hometowns knowing they're fucking shit up here for us new yorkers

@Bobrogers994 жыл бұрын
$2,500 is the total monthly rent? It's a steal! The location is very good. You may have to change trains to get where you want to go in Manhattan, but it's only a 5-minute walk to the station. The local grocery store will be more than adequate between excursions to Trader Joe's. Elevator. Recently renovated. In-unit laundry. Balcony. Central air. Workout room. Loft office/guest space. This apartment offers twice the area and amenities of anything you've shown us in Manhattan in this price range. If I were looking for a place I'd sign a lease on this one in a heartbeat. Unless, of course, there's something about the neighborhood that we don't know about. It's almost too good to be true.

I think I would divide that loft area somehow, so it could be a second bedroom and maybe a small office. Just come down on that rent some. Other than that, a nice one! Merry Christmas!

Williamsburg has gotten rather gentrified over the years. It gives more of a Greenwich Village sort of vibe, but with young people from out of state, young families, and spoiled rich hipsters. There were a ton of eateries and night spots, but during these covid times, I don't know how many have or will survive.

Also check out Prospect Heights (my neighborhood), Clinton Hill and Fort Greene. They all have the neighborhood vibe with prewar apartment buildings and brownstones, mixed with new construction. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, theater, and other amenities. And they are all in close proximity to Manhattan. Atlantic Terminal, which sits at a point of convergence for Park Slope, Prospect Heights, and Fort Greene has almost every subway line as well as the Long Island Railroad. So if you need to get to Manhattan, it's quick access and when you feel the need to get away from it, you live some place that has a little more breathing room and green spaces.
