I was in the city Presidents’ Day weekend in 2003. (Damn! Was it that long ago?). I think there was 2 feet of snow. The snow started Sunday afternoon, but it snowed heavily all night. Monday morning there were reports that all tunnels and bridges to Manhattan were closed. But, Monday was Presidents’ Day. I was downtown in the financial district. Rather than snow “plows,” there were trucks hauling the snow away and dumping it in the rivers!

@Bobrogers993 жыл бұрын
At first glance it's a great apartment, all shiny and new, and for a very reasonable price, but if you look at it more critically it loses some of its glamour. It's a long hike to the subway if you commute anywhere. It's a fourth-floor walkup, adding to the legwork. The second bathroom is only an asset if you have an overnight guest sleeping on the living room couch, and that would get old quickly. If I owned this place I'd take out that bathtub and put in a washer and dryer. Having no dishwasher is a bummer despite the sexy sprayer on the faucet. The patio is very nice. If this were located near a subway station and either second floor or in an elevator building, I'd say it was a good deal, and if also with a washer/dryer and a dishwasher it would be a very good deal. But as it is now, I wouldn't be that interested.

You are so right. I hate how half the apartments you see you have to go through the bedroom to use the bathroom, so having the second bathroom downstairs is good. But the bath should be upstairs and just a half bath(if that is just toilet & sink?) would have been fine then if they didn't want to have laundry in the apartment that space could be storage/bigger kitchen or larger living space maybe for a little kitchen table. Also a shared balcony NOOOOOOOO! ESPECIALLY not off the bedroom. You don't know who your neighbour is going to be or who they might let into their apartment.

Lovely apartment. Upstairs bathroom is a wonderful bonus for us oldies who need to use the bathroom during the night. You could probably fit a small drop down desk and folding chair under the stairs and keep your workspace away from your living space but close enough to grab a coffee. Glass shower screens also get nasty. I use shower curtains from the dollar store and replace when they get moldy so it’s not a big issue.

The cabinet color and open shelves are my favorite. I love the brushed gold metals all around. Great loft and just the right size for a bedroom and that porch will be amazing when the weather is nice. Put some string lights, plants, and comfy poofy chairs there and it is another living area. The wall can be used as projector for a movie night. I didn't see the A/C & Heater in the loft. Was there one? Fresh and clean and streamlined aesthetic. Love that you would do this video in a snow blizzard! It is amazing space. 4:25: IDEA! I like the rolling cart, but is it as with an extension for 2 stool dinning table. Measure the height from the 4th stair riser; the depth of the first step from the wall, and the width from the kitchen counter to the stair frame. Simple black pipe design with espresso stained wood (or double thick painted MDF) as the base and try to match the Corian counter top. If the Corian piece is to expensive, use MDF and a product called Stone Coat to do a simple white durable top for less than 100.00. Total cost of a kitchen table that would be 200.00. I know, I built one for my granddaughter's first apartment. Gramma's budget ideas! 6:00 GREAT bedroom. LOVE THE SHOWER! Great job!

I think putting the bed downstairs and using the 2nd floor as the hangout space makes better sense. Especially when you have a neighbor sharing the patio space. The thing is in a lot of the apartments it makes better sense to have a loft bed because you can use the space under it as either a workspace or additional stories (Some can make a closet space under it.)
@andrewbrendan15793 жыл бұрын
Wonderful place! A small drawback is that the kitchen sink has right angles and corners rather than curves. That could be a cleaning issue but the sprayer might take care of cleaning those corners. If you're like me and still have paper documents and file folders, a two-drawer file cabinet could fit under the stairs and next to the kitchen area. For people who really enjoy cooking, the space under the stairs could accommodate a small bookcase for cookbooks.

Really nice apt for the money - if this isn’t net effective. Nice kitchen - I think you could maybe fit an RV or tiny home type dishwasher under the stairs if you cook a lot. You could also fit a nice skinny dining table in front of the kitchen - perhaps with a banquette along the wall on one side. You could probably use the outside area 8 or 9 mos a year so you could get some decent water resistant items and planters which would really expand the small amount of living room area. The bedroom and 2 baths are a nice feature and you get a bathtub and separate shower. The modern heating and cooling is also a plus. The only downside is the area to hang clothing. Perhaps if you don’t want to get a dishwasher drawer you can add some sort of closet area there. Or hang on a bathtub bar which would just tacky up the spot. The shelves in the bedroom look nice but a functional closet would have been better. All in all, a really nice apartment in what looks like a nice neighborhood - close to subways. It’s a modern bldg but when you look out your window you won’t see it.

In fact, I think this is the first apartment going for the Dubai hotel look (mildly, perhaps for a lower tier royal). Gotta be careful though in case your neighbors are pervs and want to peek in your glass doors. I might put a couch facing the windows to define the living area, and put a rectangular dining table across from the kitchen. Two bathrooms are great in a 2-floor apt - I'm always concerned about drunken guests. 🙂
