I’ll probably never pay $4000 for a guitar amplifier but this this just proves that Marshall needs to get with the times and offer more modern versions of the classic sounds we love if they want to justify charging what they do. Healthy competition is a good thing. Marshall needs to hire someone like Uwe. All that said Marshall still make my favorite amps in the world

I checked out their website.(I do not need another amp.) their stuff looks to be really high-quality. If you don’t like the aesthetics, they will change it for you as well.(I am not buying another amp.) the thing I like the most is that you can have them design a custom amp just for you.(dammit, dammit, not another amp!) who wouldn’t wanna have an amp that’s high-quality designed just for them?
@tubeworkshopАй бұрын
Custom Amps? No prob... 😉
@Vermonster23Ай бұрын
@tubeworkshop here’s a tricky one. My absolute favorite distortion comes from a plexi. It’s the bloom and the ability to clean up. I like running modulated effects. I know a plexi gets part of his character because it’s both the preamp and the power amp that create the distortion. Could you make something with two power amps? What I mean is utilizing your first stage amp for the distortion and then putting an effect loop around that into a clean power amp to keep the effects manageable.
@hip-hopjedi4423Ай бұрын
@Vermonster23 like using a fryette ps1 to attenuate and effects with its post distortion integrated effects loop but it would be nice to have a TWS version built in
@Vermonster23Ай бұрын
@ i’m looking for an amp that gives that bloom that you get when you die in with an old plexi. They interesting part would be how to make an effect loop that works properly. I am not an amp builder, but I imagine perhaps two power amp sections.The effect loop would have to bridge the first power section and go into the second one where it would then be mixed in to the first power amp. Perhaps that would give the bloom I’m talking about.
@donniejean25 күн бұрын
That’s how Y-DNA amplification works. First is a consultation for your tone, and then a design you’d like to see. Then the finest components and attention to detail are used. Hence the high price points. Essentially you have the only amplifier in its existence because it’s your own tone.

It sounded good in the produced demo track but to be honest, not so great when played live in the room. Not like €4,000 anyway. You’d also have to wonder about the decisions around aesthetics. You’d never see the logo in a stage situation and it has that toaster oven look about it. Also, ‘JTM/JCM’ switch? A little originality goes a long way.

I’ve always kept up on these channels. But I’m just tired of the clickbait. I’ve spent enough money on gear and trying to dial in “your” tone instead of my own. Why would I want to sound like you if I have a perfectly dialed in Marshall? Does their advertising say they will blow away any Marshall? He also must have backing funds, a good bankroll, or good connections because I know one of the best sounding amplifiers out there, and to have all the machines etc to make an amp look that perfect takes a huge budget. My buddy’s company is truly all by hand, even the chassis. Or he cut corners since it’s a 1 channel 50 watt amp??? So now we are getting companies saying “all hand wired” etc. Well let’s see some gut shots. Are there any on his website? I believe you mentioned he’s only one person? I don’t think it’s fair to compare an all hand wired amp using only the finest components to say “I’m selling all my Marshall’s”. So which Marshall’s are you selling? Original plexi’s? Jubilee? What are his price points? Anything over $3k and people will complain. But maybe not because of your presentation. Wizard amps aren’t even demo’d because they cost $6k. Then there’s the guy I know who I would say could destroy any of these amps but wouldn’t even be able to afford to ship one to you and pay the fee for the demo. It’s sad that we used to buy an amp for its tone, and what it will do for your band, not a bunch of marketing jargon that is repeated. I get it, it’s hand wired. Explain what that means to people and what it looks like. I see it’s on the website. To me that is a poor hand wiring job. Especially for a single channel amplifier. How many can he turn around per month or is it waiting list only? Any all handwired amp etc takes time so I’m curious what the experience of purchasing his amp will be like? Or will it end up on the same shelf in the back where the Marshalls are sold? I could have sworn a couple months ago the 10 year old JVM 410h was the amp to have. Reverb prices went up, to around $4k for the JS version. Now they are already unspoken of, and you can get the 210h for less than $900. We are no longer paying for tone people, we are paying for marketing. It’s how it works. Game changer next best thing all hand wired does it chug selling all my new amps I bought last week, should be in the descriptions of all new amps. Oh and it lights up. Don’t forget that.
