I think it's so beautiful that you encourage her to embrace the beauty of aging. Something that I notice in myself is that while I think everyone else around me is beautiful and love their features and aging, I have a hard time embracing my own, particularly the changes that have come with aging. I'm learning that it is a journey learning to give yourself grace, and I'm very grateful that you are out here helping us stay on that journey.

Yes! True words have never been said. I often see that many women seem to put a lot of pressure on themselves when it comes to beauty and appearance. After talking with hundreds of women, I know the importance of affirming my clients designate their own sense of self beauty and confidence as a women because for many of them. There's significance that comes from a black man telling a black woman that you are beautiful and enough just as you are, they may not hear that enough or at all from black men in their life.

I am growing out hard water damage that sits higher up on the crown. My hair tangles and velcros really easily in this one area. It's growing out since i started using a filter and chelating shampoos, but I want it tf off. However, every hair stylist I've been to in the last 4 years only does zero degree cuts and don't go into the layers of my hair. I need to start planning my trip to Georgia FR 😭

Sometimes with natural hair things don't translate well on camera. I didn't have time to fool with the camera or hold up her service so I just had to get the shots that I could. As long as her hair is cut well, the damage is removed, and she has a healthy foundation to grow from, that's all that matters.

Marvelous hair and result I saw a comment of how you got “scissor happy” but you gave a detailed breakdown of the method behind the cut. In addition to that, she had 6 inches of damage so HOW is this too much cutting? Healthy hair over long hair any day. I don’t think people realize a true natural hair stylist with integrity will not allow you to walk around with scraggly split ends splitting up the shaft just so you can have this length that’s preventing your hair from getting any longer. In addition to that, run me y’all’s resumes and qualifications before you go and criticize his work because it’s giving very much…YOU ARE NOT THE STYLIST LET ALONE *A* STYLIST.

@AfrikanHairGod

I don't recommend it unless you are wetting or dampening the hair. You can't get the most out moisture when you are also trying to avoid it by blow drying. You are better off using something that's water based as a styler to help with hydration and moisture

That's many of my clients' issues believe it or not. Not much can be done if they don't know what they are cutting. You may need to dictate a great deal of length for them to cut because many stylists are often afraid of being considered "scissor happy" and not cut enough length. I used to be as well

@@AfrikanHairGod so ask for a cut rather than a trim? I have a question about dry vs wet detangling, which is better? Which has more pros then cons? I have heard hair is weakest when it's wet and u said it doesn't apply to us, n i tried wet detangling under shower and its amazing n so easy, but i feel like overtime it will eat at my hair n cause mechanical damage because when hair is wet its weak n the "easy detangling job" was actually just breaking hairs off, i just wanna know from your expertise, which is better longterm Because i think the pros of dry detangling is that its better for the hair strands, because the hair is stronger will have more resistance to breaking when brushing and you can actually feel the knots and hear the hair strands snap unlike wet, the cons are the hair has less elasticity and just snaps, it takes soo much time. The pros of wet detangling under running water not only is it sooo easy, the like the force of water going downward helps to smoothen hair strands/uniform them and the curls just look so pretty when brushing, and its easy to style n saves alooot of time So whats ur opinion
@AfrikanHairGod
@AfrikanHairGod 2 ай бұрын
I detangle all my clients wet so I don't really know what else you expect on that. I've gone over the scientific reasoning behind hair being weak when wet but I don't think it need to understand complex scientific concepts to know and understand your hair better. Here is a client that came to me and never missed an appointment every month. You can see her progress over time. I prefer to let my work speak for itself kzbin.info/www/bejne/fneZdpeHmbKWitE

Yes. You wouldn't see even if the chair was white either.
