I would like to point out here, that if you were looking at buying the light wings fans from be quiet originally, buying this product (which has 3 120mm and 1 140mm already included) is essentially the same cost as buying the fans on their own. Currently, the case can be bought for $120 (apparently its retail is supposed to be $150). A 3-pack of light wings PWM 120mm fans + a single 140mm would cost $110. Basically, you're getting a case FOR 10 DOLLARS. I was originally planning on buying six of the 120mm light wing fans for my own build since they are very high quality fans with a tasteful splash of RGB. But that would run me about $160, if I spend a couple extra bucks, I can get all those fans plus a case upgrade. Definitely take advantage of this sooner rather than later, because if the price of the case goes up to its retail price of $150, it's obviously a lesser value proposition.

Well, be quiet has their 20yrs anniversary right now… having Discounts on their products.. i bought this case for 119€ here in Germany for my friends build and 2 of 140 lightwings fans for 45 €.. i think that’s ok.. but the case is easy to build and the PC came out gorgeous!

Yeah, I just checked the price on NewEgg and at $120 that's an insane deal. With most other cases in that size/class going for around $100 with no fans or only a couple cheap e-waste fans, it's hard to justify buying anything else.

Luv the new set feel. One request, the lighting when showing a case is a bit weak. Could barely make out the inside of the case until you tipped it back. Case is interesting but I recently moved into a Hyte Y60 so it will be a bit before I try another. BeQuiet is probably on the short list for future cases.

I have the DX case with all 5 Pure Wings 2 fans and it is incredibly good. I love how much air it moves, how cool, and yah it is quiet. Love this case. I run a 5800 and 3080. This has become my favorite case series, my first was the basic Pure Base 500, but then when I made 2 new PCs (I'm addicted to building PCs, not gambling or drinking, don't bully) I used the 500DX cause of the window and meshed front, then when I made a media PC to attach to my tv assembled from spare parts I bought a white pure base 500 window (non DX, but with window, but original front panel). I also coupled it with the cooler master MasterLiquid PL240 Flux 240mm rad since that one fits in the top part. Such a good case.

I’m glad they are finally making this a more attractive case. I bought my pure base 500 before the dx was introduced. I was not really happy that the dx front panel cost as much as the entire case and I would have to give up a USB port to make the lights work. So I got a dremel and made my own. Salvaged the mesh from a Rosewell Thor v2 a friend gave me and an ultimate air flow case. The case would bake the components before, but now with a mesh front and a 200mm fan pushing air in on the backside, no issues. It would look better if I got all black noctua fans instead of the brown, but those hadn’t come out yet either. Oh well it looks pretty good and cools like crazy.

I just built my PC in this new 500fx case yesterday. I love this case! Looks really nice and has amazing airflow. The only gripe I had with this and took me a while to figure out why the BIOS did not see the fan speed for the per-installed fans. I had to switch the fan header I plugged into the motherboard to PWM, and then fill in the 1st fan header on the fan hub. It looks like the mother board only reads the fan speed of the 1st fan header. Be Quiet should have already done this at the factory and its NOWHERE listed in the manual.

I went the exact route Jay recommended. I was on my third build in the same old Rosewill tower I owned for almost 10 years. I lucked out on a GPU upgrade in the middle of all the GPU madness and got a good deal on a Power Color 6700xt Hellhound Spectral White edition to replace my struggling ASUS Phoenix 1650 Super. I had to hacksaw the drive cage out of the old Rosewill case to get the 6700xt to fit. I decided to upgrade the case and got the 500DX in white to match the white GPU and also replaced the stock AMD cpu cooler with one of those cheap Vetroo V5 coolers, also in white. Changed the entire look of my system for the better and the case is indeed super quiet with the three 140mm fans included with it. It's night and day from my old Rosewill case with a bunch of old, noisy Corsair fans.

I just built my dad a PC in the 500DX, (which incidentally is what you would buy if you didn't want the lightwings fans, they come with silentwings). A few quick thoughts from that build: 1) the ROG Strix 3070ti I put in barely fit, and basically forced my 240mm AIO to a top rack mounting because routing the tubes from the bottom of the rad became impossible (reminder, don't put your tubes at the top of a rad). 2) The top mount AIO meant that I was partially obstructing the top row of connectors from my Mobo, so I had to assemble it first, then add the AIO last. Also, there was a bit of overlap from the AIO and the rear exhaust fan. It's not a problem for airflow, but it IS an order of operations & an aesthetics thing so best to share that info here. 3) You cant REALLY tell from these views, but there is inner lip mounted RGB strip on the inside of the case that illuminates it. 4) This FX option is awesome because the DX version does NOT have a motherboard controlled RGB integration for something like SignalRGB, so you have to use/coordinate RGB with the push button on the DX's case. 5) I suspect the RGB controller/hub is the same that I have in my BeQuiet802 and it's great. That is all! Great video Jay!

@JayzTwoCents The access hole actually is for routing the cables for the SSDs which are mounted on the front of the bracket. Open it up to install the cables, close it to hide them. That bracket also basically is my only beef with this case. In my opinion you need to install 2 2,5" drives on there in order for it to look ok. Otherwise the screw holes just look out of place.

Hey Jay, I've recently build in this case and I totally agree with you, it rocks! The fans were also a great value point for me. I used the removable logo piece to route my GPU power cables, since the power connectors for my 6900XT are right below that point.

Considering a 3-pack of 120mm Light Wings fans is around $70 (which includes the controller), yeah, half the cost is the fans alone. I love BeQuiet as a brand. I also got a glass side panel that I didn't get originally, so if you just want a shell to put your PC in and then upgrade it to an awesome case, BeQuiet! is the way to go. I can confirm the airflow front panel makes your PC quieter as the fans don't need to spin as fast to move as much air. My PC's noise is below ambient noise floor, unless I'm gaming, in which case you can only hear the old RX 570 fans. I just wish they had a metal top panel for exhaust, that matches the air flow cut outs underneath vs having no top panel.

I actually purchased a 500DX after your video on it I've loved it since. One heads up is you CAN fit a 360mm radiator on the front like I did but you'll have a couple of issues especially if you want to do tubes down (as you should) and that is if you have a long GPU, you will need very long tubing and it has a pretty tight space to turn it all the way up and towards your CPU. My solution was to get the Phanteks vertical GPU mount, do some case modding and run the tubing around and behind the GPU. In the end i still get very good temps (with an i7-12700K too)

I didn't want a crazy amount of RGB so the strips in the front and single strip at the top inside were perfect and like J said, the stock pure wings fans are actually pretty decent. It's able to hold a 360mm aio at the front with the two stock 140mm fans at the top and third at the rear for exhaust cooling a 5900X and 6800XT with decent temps. I had to be a bit careful about what GPU I could get but the ASRock Tiachi fits perfectly without interfering with the front rad

I ended up getting this case earlier this month, along with the Pure Rock 2 FX. And it had to be one of the easiest cases I've built in so far. Even with cable extensions thrown in, and without even bothering to refine cable management too much, closing the metal side panel was easy thanks to the plentiful space behind the motherboard tray. It was my first be quiet case, and I'd happily use it again for future builds. Though if I am able to do so, I'd probably stock up on them before September ends.

î just bought the case and an enermax liqmax 3 arg 240 as a cooler. the fans with the cooler are lighting up the whole fans which i actually dont like so i took the 3 fans out from the front, put 2 of them on the radiator in the top and one in the back. then i put the 140mm from the back into the front and bought a second one to add to the front. that way i just had to buy 1 140mm fan to add to the system instead of 2 120mm for the radiator. saved me 20 bucks. the 2 140mm are also strong enough to still generate a positive preassure even with 3 120 exhaust fans.

Thanks for pointing out that Corsair commander pro doesn't just work with any fans , I learned this the hard way , after hours of trouble shooting all the fans commander pro and 2 cores I came to the conclusion that you have to have all the fans the same model otherwise it doesn't work properly, iCue should have a setting where you could select the model for each fan but that's not the case, so if you have some RGB SP fans and bought yourself some expensive LL fans guess what it won't work properly so you will have to fork out more LL fans and sell your SP case fans maybe! Anyway my build is done now, I always loved this case and I build a pc on it for a friend, I thought about getting it at the time...if this RGB model had existed back then I would definitely buy it !

I have just build a pc (finished it this tuesday), and I actually got myself a case with 2 fans because I wanted to keep that configuration. It was a 180mm and a 120mm fan in not adaptable rgg, but since it's my only rgb it was a perfect match. They are both pretty quiet, the only thing I can hear is the suction of the big fan when I take my head near it. But what is the most enjoyable about the entire case, it would be that it only has a 35cm length (and still can hold a 30cm graphics card) which makes it a full 10cm shorter then my previous case. For anyone trying to build a case, general quality has become so good that I would just look for the checkboxes you want, and then decide on that. I "only" have a 12400f and a 3070, so I can basically get myself the smallest cheapest case with cheapo fans and still do fine. So that's what I did. The case was about the cheapest part of my build tbh, yet it still had a tempered glass side panel. That finishing statement. I just don't see myself WANTING to upgrade the case I have now. It's just that convenient. The biggest struggle in having a cheaper case is not the visuals but the ergonomics. Yet with distractions and putting some effort in cable management, I still finished my build in 1 1/2 hours.

You simply cannot argue with those German fans! Be quiet! does such a good job. Their customer service is currently, and has been stellar in the past. I used to work at Fry's in high school and our store got a bunch of samples and display fans from their very first run! I wish I would have snagged one before the store closed! Lol! But regarding their quality and customer service. One of our sales computers had a fan start to whine and then stop working all together. I built the computers back in 2016 and I know for a fact that this particular computer rarely got shut off. That exhaust fan literally spun for at least 5 out of the last 7 years... It's the 2nd fan failure out of the 36 we bought for the sales folks builds. All our manager did was email be quiet and say how pleased we have been with their components... And they offered to send us a free replacement! Free shipping too! Truly awesome company with awesome components! Once they make a stealth-like daisy chainable fan... It's game over! ;-) Those damn Uni's tickle my meat freak too damn well for now!

BeQuiet is awesome, if you don't get their crappy AIOs. I have this case, and I used their AIO(Pure Loop 2 FX 240mm), and after around 7 days, their first AIO pump died. After that I got a replacement AIO and that AIO's pump lived just 19 days. My R5 7600X reached 105 degrees Celsius before shutdown, twice. Now, I'm using Arctic LF 3 240mm and hopefully that AIO lasts. Sucks that I can't do push-pull config because of block cover width and radiator thickness, but if it lasts, then it's a win. I mean, price of Arctic AIO is already a win.

It will fit an E-ATX board if you remove the vertical drive tray. I have a ASUS WRX80E SAGE in mine and it works very well. The screw hole for the vertical drive tray even lines up with hole in the motherboard to aid mounting.

That was the case I used for my first Ryzen build and have replaced the front 200mm fan with a noctua 200mm Chromax Black fan. With mesh paneling for 4 out of 6 panels, my temps for both GPU and CPU were quite low despite only using a Hyper 212 Black Edition cooler. The 500DX has been on my list for replacement cases as my current build utilizes a Lian Li Lancool 205m and the solid front panel is more focused on silence than airflow (though Lian Li is coming out with a mesh version of the case).

Agree with other commenters, new set lighting is a little too dark to bring the subject to the forefront. I think for cases you need to stick to white and make sure it’s got more lights on it

I have a Silverstone Primera PM-01 case, Ryzen build, with 2 BeQuiet! 140mm fans at top (all on air), which is a total of 6 fans, and I couldn't be happier. I comment because if I consider building a new "Next Gen" system, I was very much considering a BeQuiet! case with open mesh front, like my Silverstone Case, which in terms of thermals, delivers excellent results. Good to see this video, and thank you!

Nice case from BeQuiet!. Thanks for making the video. Also, Corsair does need to start using standard 5V pinouts for their stuff. All 5V rgb is the same (3 wires, +5V, Data, Gnd), Corsair eliminates the 4th (key) pin on their controllers and uses a keyed connector instead. For most people, this is extremely confusing, and Corsair should just use industry standard connectors. The Corsair Commander Core that comes with their AIO's does not have variable voltage control of fans (for 3-pin fans). The Commander Core only works with PWM (4-pin) fans. However, the Commander Pro DOES support both 3-pin (variable voltage) and 4-pin (PWM) fans. You simply have to change the settings in iCUE so that the Commander Pro knows which fans are 4-pin vs 3-pin. The BeQuiet! Pure Base 500 FX looks like a great case, and I do like that they included some decent fans with the case. Jay, maybe you could make a video that helps explain the differences between standard RGB headers and the Corsair RGB header (hint: they're essentially the same thing minus the key pin) to help folks understand. The pinouts for both standard 5V RGB headers and Corsair iCUE RGB headers are available on el tee tee forums. They are the correct pinouts. Tip: I do not recommend using pinouts from 'read it' use the ones from 'el tee tee'.

One of the main reasons nowadays to have the PSU on the bottom of the case fan up is that some modern PSUs support fan idling on low temperatures, but these PSUs recommend enabling this feature _only_ when mounted fan up, so that the heat can exit the PSU by raising out of it. They do not recommend enabling this mode when mounted fan down.

Phil, Just to add to the lighting noise ... ya the lighting in the case is not bright enough ... but at the same time, the key light on Jay is hot. Maybe turn Jays key light down a smidge, and give the left of the desk a fill light thats tuned for the case size.

Just for a small comment, I thought JayzTwoCents didn't like Corsair's iCue Commander Pro but somewhat compliments the BeQuiet Pure Base 500 FX pwm and rgb header. His first complaint about Corsair iCue is that the fans are powered by a SATA plug. This case for the pwm and rgb header is powered by a SATA plug too. Now, it's you have to have a fan powered by iCue for it to work in the Commander Pro or XT. Well, you get better RGB settings with iCue than your normal standard RGB fans.
