I definitely think that these classic contemporary bags and brands are where it's at. The price point is just so realistic compared to the luxury brands. I am a young(er) working professional in Chicago and yes, I can treat myself to a Chanel but I worry about what happens when I want to retire thirty years down the road? Is the 6K-10k price tag worth it when that money can be banked, invested, etc. so you can live comfortably in the future? I understand that some of these luxury brands (some) hold their value; however, fashion - one day you are in and the next day you are out - so what everyone wants in 2033 isn't guaranteed to be what everyone covets now. I also get that you can have a dream bag or luxury product and work and save and cost per wear in might even make sense. I use my Chanel backpack everyday - cost per wear it's probably a great investment; however, I think things have just gotten out of control price wise and buying bags like those in the video today makes the most sense.

OMG yes, Aspinal of London! I’ve been hoping to see if you review this brand, especially this bag. I recently bought my first, a midi London tote and i was blown away just by the packaging. Once i opened it, the leather and craftsmanship are gorgeous. I get so many compliments! I’ve had my eye on a mayfair and now i must get one!

Steph check out the Coach Sammy Top Handle bag from Coach. It’s similar to the Aspinal bag but it’s completely full grain leather for $550! I have it in 2 colors.Also the Coach bandit bag is also similar to to the Demellier and it’s at the same price point for $550 for full grain leather. I use the ivory most, it goes best with summer dresses, whereas the green is more of a winter colour and for some reason I prefer bigger bags with my winter wardrobe, so I don’t reach for it. I’ve a couple of lavender summer dresses so I am tempted by the lavender but then again I have the LV marshmallow hobo in sunset pastel which I’m not reaching for either 😂

I have two of the smaller ‘mini Mayfair’ bags; it fits my phone and essentials and the price means I’m not overly precious about it. It’s also my go-to if I don’t know where I’m headed because it’ll be fine if I end up having to put it on the floor, or on the back of a chair where it might be knocked. The midi size is a great size for a day bag, mini definitely a bit too small. The dress was beautiful on you.

The Aspinal of London is beautiful but I’m 5’2 so it must be at my knee length and the interior in canvas doesn’t scream luxurious to me and honestly isn’t a cheap cheap bag to have such characteristics. The other thing that annoys me a little is that crocodile embossed leather that feels a little plasticish. I will await to see if they come out with other types of leather and correct the strap length or add the possibility of adapting it.

Absolutely LOVE the look of the Demellier Vancouver bag. Sadly, I don’t think the quality is there. I ordered the bag in September of 2022. It came delivered with a large scratch at the back. I returned it and replaced it for a new one. At the time it was back ordered so I only got the new one in January 2023. This one came completely dented and out of shape. I returned that one and don’t foresee myself attempting another purchase. It just proved to me that the leather is not hard wearing. Too bad though because it’s a beautiful bag at a great price point.

Thank you for your quick response. I watch your vlogs all the time. I bought 2 pairs of the most comfortable loafers and my daughter love it she bought 1 herself, too! I also bought my first bag-the T timeless shoulder mini in black and I was beyond happy! The leather is shiny calfskin ( just like the Celine one). It's classy and very well priced. I think their brand is underrated. I am planning to purchase another one -the newly released messenger mini.
